
Saudi Student Al-Qarni Selected to Engage with Global Science Leaders at ISEF 2025
Saudi student Areej Abdullah Al-Qarni was selected for the second consecutive year to join a panel discussion with global experts in science, and medicine at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), held in Columbus, Ohio.
Al-Qarni earned this prestigious opportunity in recognition of her outstanding achievements in scientific research. She is one of 41 students representing Saudi Arabia in a competition that includes more than 1,700 participants from 70 countries, all vying for top honors at ISEF.
Al-Qarni's 2025 project explores carbon capture through cooling an innovative approach aimed at addressing the urgent global challenge of climate change.
Each year, a selected group of standout students is invited to engage directly with leaders in innovation and entrepreneurship during ISEF's Innovation and Technology Forum. Additionally, this initiative bridges the gap between the scientific leaders of tomorrow and today's pioneers in the field.
Regarded as the world's largest international competition for high school research and innovation, ISEF provides a global stage for students to showcase their work to an esteemed panel of scientists and industry experts.

Saudi Arabia's Digital Government Authority (DGA) has released a recent study tackling the current state of the AI's adoption and the possible economic impact. Titled 'Generative AI in Digital Government Business', DGA's study explores the key challenges and recommendations for decision makers and involved stakeholders. It also focuses on how to leverage from the solutions of the generative artificial intelligence at the local level and how to employ them to elevate government services. Importantly, the study anticipates that the expected contribution of AI to the gross domestic product by 2030 will be $135 billion.
