Monmouth Concert Orchestra to host 'Animal Magic' concert

The event, titled "Animal Magic," is set for Sunday, June 15, at St Mary's Priory Church, Monmouth, from 4pm to 6pm.
The audience can expect a programme featuring music from Bach, Handel, and Saint-Saëns.
Tickets are priced at £8, with free entry for under-16s, and are available from orchestra members or at the door.
The orchestra will be raising funds for Cwmbran-based charity, All Creatures Great and Small, which rescues and rehabilitates animals.
The Monmouth Concert Orchestra is made up of amateur musicians from Herefordshire, Monmouthshire, and the Forest of Dean.
They meet fortnightly during term time and are always open to new players, provided they are of Grade V standard or above.
There are no auditions.

Large crowds gather for the annual Edinburgh Canal Festival at the Union Canal

Organised by the Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust, the festival is a celebration of the Union Canal and canalside community. This free festival, which has been happening annually for years, took place on Saturday, June 12, from 12noon- 5pm, and featured local organisations and community groups that operate on or near the canal year-round, as well as Edinburgh-based charities. The festival had three zones along the Union Canal in Edinburgh, at the Lochrin Basin, Harrison Park West and Fountainbridge Green, as well as a number of 'Doors Open Day' venues along the route. Each zone and venue had a mix of activities, great food and music performances on offer. There was also canoe polo at the Edinburgh Quay end of the Union Canal, a real live mermaid and stalls for people to check out on the Edinburgh waterway. 1 . Double A side re-release for Wrexham band of the 80s and 90s

Terminal was one of the hardest working bands around and stories of their concerts became the stuff of local legend. Making up the band were members from Wrexham and Denbigh, consisting of brothers Phil (singer) and Adi Heym (bass), Nigel Peters (lead guitar) and Dave Humphreys (drums). Songs were written by Phil and Nigel. It was off the back of this, that he received a bit of a surprise from across the Channel, via Nantes-based Fish & Cheap Records. He said: "I was contacted by a small company in France who said they loved Terminal and wanted to re-release their music to reach a wider public. "They had managed to get hold of their second single and I sent them their first single, which we agreed that they would make a double A side, which they have done and is now available to buy from them."
