UAE approves mandatory Arabic lessons for kindergarteners in private schools
Kindergartners in all UAE private schools will need to take daily 40-minute Arabic lessons from the start of the 2025-2026 academic year. Making the announcement, the UAE Ministry of Education said Arabic lessons will add up to 200 minutes per week, and will be increased to 300 minutes per week in the 2027-2028 academic year. Arabic will be taught by qualified Early Childhood teachers using approved resources and age-appropriate teaching methods, suitable for both native and non-native speakers. The ministry has also introduced two more subjects to the curriculum - Islamic Studies for Muslim students and social studies. Islamic Studies will be taught for 90 minutes per week and delivered as either three sessions of 30 minutes or two sessions of 45 minutes per week, while Social Studies will be through simplified, play-based models conducted both inside and outside the classroom. The lessons will be for schools in approved curricula. All schools will be provided with the ministry's instructional frameworks and clear learning outcomes for all three subjects before the start of the academic year. Regular inspections will also be carried out to check if the guidelines are being followed, the ministry added. The move is aimed nurturing a generation that is proud of its national identity and proficient in its mother tongue.

Mumbai Confidential: Tantra in Maharashtra politics
In Maharashtra's political corridors, whispers of occult rituals have been associated with a regional powerhouse. The speculation turned abuzz when several of its leaders recently visited the famed Kamakhya temple in Assam, a known seat of Tantric power. A new name has now entered this domain — a cabinet heavyweight from the Konkan belt, embroiled in a bitter tussle over the plum post of guardian minister. A video clip, said to be from last year but recently gone public, appears to show the minister in ritual regalia seated beside an Aghori sadhu clad in black, in what seems like a ritualistic invocation. Political opponents say it shows how tantra is thriving in the state's polity. Firebrand Concern Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, as part of his outreach to the Muslim community after the split in the NCP, had famously promised that he would not spare anyone who intimidated Muslims in the state. Pawar, however, seems to be struggling to rein in a young firebrand from his own stable. The three-time MLA from a prominent western Maharashtra city and the son-in-law of a sitting BJP legislator has been making speeches laced with communal rhetoric. His most recent demand was that Muslim employees at a well known temple trust be removed. With back-to-back electoral victories and an eye on further consolidation, the young leader is believed to be tapping into rising polarisation to shore up his personal clout. Power Games An NCP minister was livid when he realised that a newly appointed chief officer of a prime municipal council in his constituency had taken charge without the consent of state's Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Department Minister Eknath Shinde. The appointment was through an officer in Shinde's office without informing the former CM. The NCP minister complained to Shinde on the cabinet day after the appointment was cancelled. Now the officer who went ahead without informing Shinde and is holding double charge at present is under radar.

Today, we will tell you about one such film, which was made in Rs 1300 crore. The world's biggest flop film This film is considered one of the biggest flops in the world. The producers spent Rs 1300 crore on this film. But even after being a flop, it made a big record. John McTiernan directed this film in the year 1999. The name of this American historical fiction film is The 13th Warrior. In which Antonio Banderas played the role of Ahmed Ibn Fadlan. Diane Venora and Omar Sharif also worked in the film. Starred a Muslim actor in the lead role This film was based on Michael Crichton's 1976 novel 'Eaters of the Dead'. At the same time, the story of Ahmed Ibn Fadlan (a Baghdadi traveler) was shown in it. However, despite being a flop, the film made a big record. The record of the film was that for the first time a Muslim actor was presented as a hero in a Hollywood film. The 13th Warrior not only flopped at the box office, but the film also had to face a lot of criticism. This film was made in 160 million dollars i.e. Rs 1300 crore. However, it was successful in doing business of only 61 million dollars i.e., Rs 511 crores from all over the world. That is, if we look at the total budget, the film had to suffer a loss of hundreds of crores. When this film flopped at the box office, a critic said that now no one in Hollywood will make the mistake of making a film based on a Muslim hero. This loss was quite big.
