Hyderabad: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a dharna in front of the Intermediate Board on Thursday. 'The members demanded that the State government take action against the corporate colleges and solve the problems in Inter education in Telangana.
Intermediate admissions should be conducted completely online. Strict action must be taken against corporate colleges that are charging fees under the guise of various courses.

ABVP protest march in Thiruvananthapuram turns violent

Earlier in the day, Sivankutty told reporters that he has been attacked and his travels obstructed during the last couple of days after he walked out of a programme at the Raj Bhavan where a portrait of 'Bharat Mata' — as seen in RSS events — was displayed. He said that as a minister, MLA and a citizen, he has the right to protest against the actions of the Governor at the Raj Bhavan and that is what he did. 'The Governor has said that he will continue with it (the portrait) and we have not responded to that,' he added. Subsequently, the BJP youth wing Yuva Morcha and student organisation — Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) — attacked him and obstructed his vehicle at various places in the state during the last two day, the minister claimed. Clash erupts during ABVP-Yuva Morcha protest against Minister Sivankutty

Sivankutty over the 'Bharat Mata' issue led to a clash between the police and the activists at Tali in Kozhikode on Saturday (June 21). The involvement of activists from the Students' Federation of India (SFI) and the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) escalated the situation. He also claimed that activists had destroyed the National Flag displayed on his car during a protest in Thiruvananthapuram. Mr. Sivankutty's remarks about the use of a portrait of 'Bharat Mata' at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram during an official programme had earlier triggered the controversy.
