We are considering a simultaneous release of Drishyam 3 in Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu: Jeethu Joseph
Director Jeethu Joseph and Aashirvad Cinemas have announced that the shooting of the much-awaited Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal , will begin in October. The production house made the announcement by sharing a reel that begins with a close-up shot of Mohanlal's character, George Kutty's eye, which is very striking in the first part of Drishyam. Speaking to us, Jeethu Joseph shared, "The script of the third film is nearing completion. There have been reports that the Hindi version will have a different story, but that's not true. The Hindi film will also be based on my story. Once I complete my script, it will be shared with the Hindi team, who will then adapt it to suit their setting and make suitable cultural changes." While there is buzz that both the films will be shot in parallel, the director said, "That's not something we can confirm now. The dates of the lead actors may not work out that way." While Mohanlal plays the lead in Malayalam, Ajay Devgn and Venkatesh headline the Hindi and Telugu versions, respectively. However, Jeethu adds, "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release. So, we have been discussing the prospect of releasing the films simultaneously—not just the Malayalam and Hindi versions, but the Telugu one as well. In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film's impact in the other languages."

Furore as censor board blocks J.S.K's release
KOCHI: The Central Board of Film Certification's denial of certification to the film 'Janaki V/s State of Kerala' (J.S.K) has created a flutter in Kerala with Malayalam film representatives voicing their angst and the producer deciding to move court. The courtroom thriller, directed by Pravin Narayanan and starring Union Minister Suresh Gopi and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles, is about the legal battle of a woman who goes through a traumatic event. The CBFC allegedly objected to the use of 'Janaki' – another name for Goddess Sita – as the name of the title character. Following this, the film's release, scheduled for June 27, has been postponed.
