RG Snyman named URC Players' Player of the Year
Leinster's RG Snyman has been voted the BKT URC's Players' Player of the Season, capping off an impactful debut campaign at the province.
The giant second row has been integral to Leinster's run to the semi-finals, playing 13 games and scoring two tries.
A powerful ball-carrier at 6ft 9in, the lock's 40 offloads - second overall in the URC - highlights his ability as a dual threat in attack.
The award, which is voted for by the captains and vice-captains of each team in the URC, has previously been won by Munster's Jack Crowley, Leinster's Dan Sheehan and Stormers' back row Evan Ross.
Snyman, who has agreed a contract extension to remain at Leinster next season, joined the province last summer following four years at Munster, where a series of knee injuries, and a shoulder surgery after the World Cup in 2023, left him unable to make a significant impact at Thomond Park.
The 30-year-old (below) has already played 20 games in all competitions for Leinster this season, matching his total from four years at Munster.
Meanwhile, Zebre Parma's Massimo Brunello has been named Coach of the Season, with the award voted for by the league's head coaches.
Brunello has transformed Zebre Parma this season, leading them to victories over Munster, Ospreys and Dragons at home, as well as famous away wins against Ulster and Edinburgh.
Their away against Ulster ended a four-year wait for a victory on road, and was backed up the following week with another win away against Edinburgh.
Previous winners of this award include Graham Rowntree last season, and Glasgow Warriors head coach Franco Smith back in 2022/23.

John Kiely: 'It all hurts, it will hurt as much as it did last year'
JOHN Kiely doesn't have this feeling too often. Losing in Croke Park has only happened three times now, Kilkenny in 2019, Cork 12 months ago and now this, the most unlikely reversal against 14-man Dublin. Only in 2017, his first season in charge, has his most talented squad failed to reach the last four. Their consistency unmatched during that period. The fourteen titles collected in that period now feel somewhat distant. Limerick are not the leading force now, the mantle will be taken up by someone else next month. Kiely, about 40 minutes post match, arrived and as always gave his time to the media. 'Very disappointed, obviously, but we've lost to a better team on the day. Dublin deserve great credit for their performance. To win that game with fourteen men for such a long period of time is such a fantastic achievement for them. I think things stuck for them today, when they went to pick up a ball it stuck, when they went to catch a ball it stuck. They were really good on restarts, on ours and theirs. They were really, really good on the breaking ball." 'When the opportunities came in the last ten minutes they seized upon them and took them,' his side couldn't create a goal, couldn't get themselves back in front after the Dubs had assumed control with that quickfire blast. His side certainly didn't get near the level of that ferocious Munster decider, 'We weren't 100% sharp on the ball. We turned over balls that we shouldn't have, everything seemed to be that little bit harder for us. I think when you are that little bit off, it gives the opposition a chance. And I'd have to give great credit to Dublin, their performance today.' The Galbally native was full in his praise of the winning side, he wasn't surprised either, that Dublin had such a display in them, 'We had all our analysis done of Dublin, their performance levels in the Leinster Championship were of a very high level, across various different metrics. Work rate, puckouts, their accuracy has been very, very high. In one game they had over 85%. They might not have done all of those together in a single game in Leinster, but they were extremely competitive. They got their performance level right today, there is great credit due to them.' Did the Munster final take too much from them, nearly 100-minutes of toil, of battle with their neighbours, Cork? 'In a word? No. We drew the Munster final in normal and extra-time. We weren't chasing the drawing score, the penalties were the penalties.' 'We took a bit of time after the Munster final, and after the Munster final and got back on the horse last weekend. I felt the energy levels were good. Our warm-up went well today, and we started well against the breeze today, for the first 10-12 minutes. 'Whatever happened after the sending off, there was a response from Dublin that we didn't have, or give. Once they got their teeth into the contest they gave themselves a great chance. 'Goals win matches, they are a big part of it, they were two well taken goals'. 'It all hurts, it will hurt as much as it did last year, we wanted to be back in training next week'. The Shannonsiders will reflect on this, with Kiely set to continue into 2026, having agreed a two-year term last Autumn.

Liverpool target Marc Guéhi prepared to see out final year of Palace contract
Marc Guéhi will not be rushed into a decision on his future and is prepared to see out the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace if the right move does not materialise this summer. Palace are looking to cash in on the England defender, who is a target for Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham, but there is a possibility of the club losing one of their biggest assets on a free transfer next year. Guéhi, who has no intention of signing an extension, remains open-minded about his next destination and a big consideration for the 24-year-old is making sure he has plenty of playing time next season. The former Chelsea centre-back, who played an integral role in Palace winning the FA Cup, needs to safeguard his place in the England squad before the 2026 World Cup. That means there is an obvious benefit in joining a club who can offer Guéhi a quick route into their starting XI. Liverpool have emerged as strong contenders to sign Guéhi and could bid for him once they sell Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for £30m. A potential stumbling block, however, is that Liverpool still have the outstanding duo of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté as their first-choice pairing in central defence. Van Dijk, 33, has extended his contract with the Premier League champions and is showing no sign of slowing down. The sale of Quansah will leave Liverpool short of defensive cover. The 22-year-old centre-back made 25 appearances for Arne Slot's last season and can also play at right-back. Konaté is entering the final year of his deal and has struggled with injuries at times. Joe Gomez, another of Liverpool's defensive options, has been out since February with a hamstring injury. Guéhi will face a big decision if Liverpool follow up their interest in him by offering enough for Palace to sell. A chance to join the best team in England and work with Slot would be hard to turn down. At the same time there are indications that clubs who can immediately guarantee him regular football retain a good chance of signing him. Newcastle tried to buy Guéhi last summer, only to be put off by Palace's asking price of about £70m, and they remain in the mix after qualifying for the Champions League. Their current options at centre-back include three players in their 30s – Dan Burn, Fabian Schär and Jamaal Lascelles – and the 25-year-old Sven Botman, who missed much of last season through injury. Tottenham will also be in the market for a new defensive partner for Micky van de Ven if they sell Cristian Romero, who has been targeted by Atlético Madrid. Spurs, who have qualified for the Champions League, had an offer of £55m plus £15m in add-ons rejected in January. There seems little prospect of Chelsea following up preliminary interest in Guéhi. Guéhi staying at Palace for another year before leaving for nothing has not been ruled out. He can speak to foreign clubs about signing a pre-contract from January. For Palace, there is a question of making sure their demands remain realistic this summer. Interested clubs are unlikely to want to overpay for a player who is entering the final year of his contract. The Guardian
