Azhar strongly condemns Israeli aggression on Israel
Israel launched airstrikes on Iran - Agencies
CAIRO - 14 June 2025: Al-Azhar Al-Sharif condemned, in the strongest terms, the Zionist aggression targeting the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
"This aggression constitutes a flagrant violation of state sovereignty and a flagrant infringement of international law, as well as a direct threat to regional and international peace and security," read a statement issued by the Azhar.
Al-Azhar warned that the barbarity of the Zionist occupation threatens to further escalate crises in the region and threatens to plunge it into regional chaos, undermining its stability and endangering the lives of its people.
Al-Azhar emphasized that the arrogant policy pursued by this entity reflects its aggressive behavior and its approach to spreading chaos, undermining international peace and security, and its efforts to transform the entire region into an arena for wars and conflicts.
Al-Azhar reiterated its call to the international community, all UN institutions, and all conscientious individuals worldwide to shoulder their moral and humanitarian responsibilities by halting the repeated violations perpetrated by this rogue occupation in the region, ensuring respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states, and working diligently to avoid escalation in order to preserve the lives of innocent people.

Iran's FM in Istanbul for Arab League, OIC meetings to discuss Israeli aggression - Region
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Istanbul on Saturday for meetings with Arab League diplomats and foreign ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), as missile strikes between Israel and Iran continue, Tasnim news agency reported. Around 40 diplomats are expected to attend the OIC's weekend summit, with the Arab League's extraordinary council of ministers convening ahead of the gathering. Araghchi is attending both meetings, where Israeli attacks on Iran are a central focus. "The Foreign Minister arrived in Istanbul this morning to participate in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Foreign Ministers' meeting," Tasnim reported. Araghchi said the agenda would include 'the Zionist regime's attack on our country,' according to the agency. His visit follows talks in Geneva on Friday with counterparts from Britain, France and Germany. Earlier that day, Araghchi said Iran would only 'consider diplomacy' if Israel halted its attacks. Israel began its assault in the early hours of 13 June, accusing Iran of nearing nuclear weapons capability—claims that prompted immediate retaliation from Tehran in the most serious confrontation between the two states to date. The Arab League ministers are expected to issue a statement following their meeting, Turkish state news agency Anadolu reported. Follow us on: Facebook Instagram Whatsapp Short link:
