Logicalis launches Cisco XDR managed service in Asia Pacific

Logicalis has become the first partner in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region to launch Cisco's Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solution as a Global Managed Service (MXDR), expanding its cybersecurity capabilities through its APAC Security Operations Center (SOC) in Malaysia.
Customers across Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore will be the first in the region to access the Cisco MXDR service, which offers advanced, AI-driven cybersecurity monitoring and response through a unified incident management platform. The solution is designed to address increasing cyber threats faced by organisations across APAC.
According to the Logicalis APAC CIO report, 91 percent of organisations surveyed experienced cybersecurity incidents in the past 12 months, with more than half of those experiencing multiple breaches.
"Security is the number one concern for our customers and we're seeing a tidal wave of demand for services amidst a growing skills gap," said Lee Chong-Win, CEO of Logicalis Asia Pacific.
"Logicalis is investing heavily in our regional SOC capabilities to meet this demand. Cisco XDR provides the AI-driven automation customers need, combined with the 24/7 SOC capabilities and global threat intelligence that Logicalis can provide, addressing both the security coverage and skills gap concerns, at a compelling price point for the APAC market."
Delivered as a managed service, Cisco XDR integrates with a range of existing security tools and complements an organisation's endpoint protection systems. It leverages AI-driven automation to enhance incident detection and response, enabling faster mitigation of threats across environments.
The service is delivered through Logicalis's regional SOC in Malaysia and is supported by its broader network of global SOCs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and the Americas.
Dave West, President of Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China, said the collaboration with Logicalis exemplifies the potential of technology partnerships to deliver meaningful outcomes for businesses.

Logicalis's Cisco XDR as a Managed Service is currently undergoing validation as a global Cisco Powered Service (CPS), which the company says will further strengthen its position as a preferred managed security provider for Cisco technologies.
The Malaysian SOC plays a key role in Logicalis's regional cybersecurity capabilities, combining local expertise with global threat intelligence. The centre provides continuous monitoring, high levels of threat visibility, and compliance support, helping customers respond to and manage cyber risks effectively.
Logicalis says its global SOC framework allows it to deliver consistent service standards while tailoring its cybersecurity offerings to regional needs.
Customers in EMEA are already live on the service, and Logicalis expects its APAC rollout to set a new standard for managed cybersecurity services in the region.

Bitdefender, a global cybersecurity leader, today announced it has agreed to acquire Mesh Security Limited (Mesh), a provider of advanced email security solutions. Through the acquisition, Mesh's email security technology and capabilities will be integrated into Bitdefender's extended detection and response (XDR) platform and managed detection and response (MDR) services. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Email remains the most exploited attack vector and serves as an entry point for ransomware, phishing, and business email compromise (BEC). According to the FBI Internet Crime Report 2024, businesses reported nearly US$2.8 billion in losses due to BEC scams in 2024. Additionally, the 2024 Bitdefender Cybersecurity Assessment Report (based on a global survey of 1,200 cybersecurity professionals) identified phishing and social engineering as the top threats impacting their organisation. The acquisition will incorporate Mesh's email security capabilities into Bitdefender GravityZone, the company's flagship unified security, compliance, and risk analytics platform. Mesh employs a dual-layered approach to email security, combining perimeter-based protection via a secure email gateway (SEG) with mailbox-level defence through API-based deployment. This model expands visibility into threat activity across all vectors and contributes high-quality telemetry to Bitdefender's global threat intelligence network. A cornerstone of Bitdefender's continued growth is through its global network of over 41,000 channel and MSP partners. Mesh enhances this value by offering a centralised platform optimised for MSPs, enabling efficient multi-tenant email security management. Its solution provides 24x7 protection while reducing operational overhead. With automated policy enforcement, real-time threat insights, and seamless integration into existing workflows, Mesh empowers MSPs to deliver effective, scalable protection to customers. Cisco surpasses AI order target, unveils new data centre tools

Cisco has announced a series of updates and partnerships intended to accelerate adoption of AI-ready infrastructure across enterprise and hyperscale data centres. The updates include expanded AI PODs, enhanced network management tools, and technical integrations with NVIDIA, as well as collaborations with emerging neocloud and global service providers. AI-driven data centre growth During the most recent quarter, Cisco surpassed its annual target of USD $1 billion in AI infrastructure orders from hyperscale customers, reporting achievement of this milestone one quarter earlier than planned. The company's latest infrastructure updates are designed to allow enterprises and service providers to modernise their facilities for evolving AI workloads. This is being achieved through validated solutions, simplified upgrades, and unified management platforms that bring together various network domains under one dashboard. "The world is moving from chatbots intelligently answering our questions to agents conducting tasks and jobs fully autonomously. This is the agentic era of AI," said Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco. "As billions of AI agents begin working on our behalf, the demand for high-bandwidth, low latency and power efficient networking for data centers will soar. Cisco is at the forefront, delivering advanced, secure networking technology that's foundational to the AI-ready data centers of the future." Matt Kimball, Moor Insights & Strategy, also highlighted the importance of secure connectivity for enterprise AI expansion, stating, "The criticality of secure connectivity becomes more apparent as AI use expands across the enterprise. Cisco's ability to deliver AI-ready infrastructure to its customers, along with its investment in AI-enabled operations differentiates the company." "It is this kind of partner and customer-first thinking that leads to AI-powered tools that abstract the complexity associated with deploying and managing AI infrastructure. AI reaching its full potential is dependent on a resilient network on which partners build and deliver solutions and services." Enterprise infrastructure upgrades Among Cisco's newly announced solutions is the Unified Nexus Dashboard, which consolidates management across local area networks, storage area networks, IP fabric management, and AI/ML IT environments into a single interface. This is intended to improve operational efficiency and visibility for data centre operators. The platform's latest release is scheduled for July 2025. Cisco has also released Intelligent Packet Flow, a traffic management feature designed to proactively steer AI workloads using real-time telemetry and congestion data. This aims to provide 'end-to-end' visibility linking networks, GPUs, and distributed AI compute jobs. In technical collaboration with NVIDIA, Cisco demonstrated integration of Cisco G200-based switches and NVIDIA network interface cards, enabling NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet networking via Cisco Silicon One. This integration supports various operating environments, including NX-OS, Nexus Hyperfabric AI, and SONiC deployments. The company has broadened its AI POD offerings, providing more configurable options for organisations deploying tailored AI workloads. Partnerships with NVIDIA continue, with the NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Server Edition GPU now available to order with Cisco UCS C845A M8 servers, supporting the development of validated solutions as part of the Cisco Secure AI Factory initiative. On the security front, Cisco AI Defense and Cisco Hypershield are now included in NVIDIA's Enterprise AI Factory validated design. These solutions offer visibility, validation, and runtime protection for end-to-end enterprise AI workflows, supporting AI agents built on open models and optimised using NVIDIA microservices. Additionally, Cisco has introduced new 400G bidirectional optics to enable data centre operators to upgrade their networks while maintaining existing fibre infrastructure, with availability scheduled for the second half of 2025. Growth of the neocloud market Recognising the emergence of a 'neocloud' market segment, Cisco has signed partnerships with new GPU- and infrastructure-as-a-service providers. Projects highlighted include: HUMAIN in Saudi Arabia, which is constructing an AI infrastructure using Cisco networking, analytics, and security technologies, including Nexus, UCS, Hypershield, and Splunk. G42, a technology group in the UAE, announced a strategic collaboration with Cisco to develop AI infrastructure across both public and private sectors. Stargate UAE consortium has appointed Cisco as a preferred technology partner to support advanced networking, security, and observability for future AI compute clusters. Service provider advancements Cisco's Agile Services Networking architecture is being expanded to support both terrestrial and satellite service provider networks, responding to changes in network traffic generated by new AI applications. This includes new converged access and edge routers powered by Cisco Silicon One, additions to the 8000 series hardware portfolio, and the launch of a multi-agentic framework for Cisco Crosswork Network Automation. The latter provides tools for service providers to automate network operations using both Cisco and customer-built AI agents. The architecture is also designed for integration with satellite networks, allowing resource allocation and service delivery in sectors such as maritime, aviation, emergency response, and the Internet of Things.

Cisco launches secure AI-optimised network for global firms

Cisco has introduced a new secure network architecture targeting the growing demands and security concerns facing enterprises as AI-driven workloads reshape the modern workplace. The architecture is designed for deployment across campus, branch, and industrial network environments, and focuses on operational simplicity through unified management, hardware optimised for AI applications, and security embedded within every layer of the network. Enterprise demands The new architecture comes in response to surging network traffic, tighter uptime requirements, and heightened cyber security threats as organisations accelerate the integration of AI across their operations. Cisco cited findings from its IT Networking Leader Survey, which revealed that 97% of businesses believe network upgrades are necessary for the success of AI and IoT initiatives. The survey also indicated that single severe outages could result in global financial losses approaching USD $160 billion. Jeetu Patel, President and Chief Product Officer at Cisco, explained the challenge: "As AI transforms work, it fuels explosive traffic growth across campus, branch, and industrial networks, overwhelming IT teams with complexity and novel security risks at a time when downtime has never been more costly. With a new architecture, breakthrough devices optimized for AI, and AgenticOps, we're leapfrogging the industry and reimagining how networks are managed and secured." Simplified operations Operational complexity is frequently cited as a pain point for IT departments. The Cisco unified management platform seeks to address this by enabling management across Meraki and Catalyst device ranges, wireless, switching, routing, and industrial networks. This integrated approach allows deployment in any environment—cloud, on-premises, or hybrid. The management platform incorporates ThousandEyes assurance—which now extends to mobile endpoints and industrial IoT—offering more comprehensive visibility into networks and into Microsoft Azure. Cisco has also introduced an integration between ThousandEyes and Splunk, delivering real-time insights from network to application. This is expected to give organisations greater assurance and operational resilience across both internal and third-party infrastructure. Central to the management advances is AgenticOps, Cisco's AI-enabled operational strategy that combines real-time telemetry, automation, and domain knowledge for data-driven actions. This is underpinned by the Deep Network Model, a domain-specific large language model trained on Cisco resources, from advanced certifications to courseware content. The platform also debuts the Cisco AI Assistant, a conversational interface designed to identify and diagnose network issues, reducing the time required for common tasks. In addition, Cisco is launching AI Canvas—a generative AI dashboard interface intended to help NetOps, SecOps, and DevOps teams collaborate and optimise operations while reducing the strain on IT staff. New hardware for AI workloads Cisco has also announced a new range of devices tailored to the requirements of high-volume AI traffic, low latency, and robust security. The new Cisco C9350 and C9610 Smart Switches, powered by Silicon One, reportedly offer up to 51.2Tbps throughput, latency below five microseconds, and incorporate quantum-resistant security capabilities. The new Cisco 8100, 8200, 8300, 8400 and 8500 Secure Routers include native SD-WAN and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) integration, next-generation firewalls, and post-quantum security within a single device. Cisco states that these routers deliver up to three times the throughput of previous generations. The expanded wireless portfolio features the Cisco Wireless 9179F Series Access Points for high-capacity venues, and a new Campus Gateway to provide seamless roaming on large campuses. For industrial environments, newly ruggedised switches and Ultra-Reliable Wireless Backhaul integration aim to support critical applications such as quality inspections and autonomous mobile robots. Security measures Cisco's approach integrates security at multiple layers. The new Cisco Live Protect introduces kernel-level controls designed to block exploits and protect switches and routers without requiring downtime or system reimaging. To secure data in transit, post-quantum-ready MACsec, WAN MACsec, and IPsec encryption have been added, with the new C9000 Smart Switches now Hypershield-ready for enhanced segmentation. Security is likewise extended to users, endpoints, and applications. Cisco's updates include expanded microsegmentation, AI-powered device classification, and unified policy management. With the support of Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cyber Vision, Cisco Talos, and Secure Access SSE, the architecture aims to enforce security measures at all network points. Industry response Commenting on the development, Matt Eastwood of IDC stated: "Organizations are at a critical juncture. The promise of AI is immense, but the reality is that existing enterprise networks are simply not equipped to handle the scale, security, and reliability requirements that AI demands. Cisco's new secure network architecture marks a critical evolution in networking and provides a future-ready foundation for enterprises to confidently embrace AI without sacrificing performance or security." Availability The new architecture will be available through Cisco and certified partners, with unified management, licensing, and support. The unified management platform is available immediately, with Cisco AI Assistant in public beta and AI Canvas to be trialled with selected customers later in the year.
