Xiaomi's sub-brand Poco is launching its new generation F series smartphone, the Poco F7, in India on June 24. As we wait for the launch, the anticipation surrounding the smartphone has grown, creating curiosity over what the new generation will offer. The Poco F series smartphone is known for its powerful performance at an affordable price. This year, the company has revealed that the Poco F7 will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, which may offer a major performance boost. Now, with the chipset, the Poco has also revealed the price range of the smartphone, and it hints towards the mid-range category. Therefore, know what the Poco F7 has in store for users and how much it will cost.

Just a few days ahead of the launch, Poco has teased a new launch poster of the Poco F7, which highlights the price range of the smartphone. The poster highlights that the Poco F7 will be launched at under Rs.35000 in India, which is quite a competitive price considering the chipset. According to Flipkart's listing, the Poco F7 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor paired with 12GB LPDDR5x RAM, up to 24GB of Turbo RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Therefore, the Poco F7 will give tough competition to several mid-rangers in a similar price range.

Considering the price range, the Poco F7 will also compete with the upcoming Nothing Phone 3 model, which is also confirmed to feature the same chipset. However, the Phone 3 model will be launched at a higher price than the Poco F7 in India. Alongside the price range and performance features, Poco F7 is confirmed to feature a 6000mm² vapour cooling system and a massive 7,550mAh battery that may support 90W fast charging.

The Poco F7 is expected to feature a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3200 nits peak brightness. The smartphone is revealed to feature a dual camera setup that may include a 50MP main camera with a Sony LYT-600 sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera. The Poco F7 may also offer enhanced durability with an IP68 rating for dust and water protection. Lastly, it may run on Xiaomi HyperOS 2 based on Android 15.

Reliance Jio announced that it has partnered with BattleGrounds Mobile India (BGMI) developer Krafton to bring new prepaid plans for gamers. The network operator's latest plans not only offer high-speed unlimited 5G but also come with exclusive Battlegrounds Mobile India goodies. As part of its collaboration with Krafton, Jio introduced two plans that cost Rs 495 and Rs 545, respectively and have a validity of 28 days. The Rs 495 plan comes with 1.5GB of 4G mobile data per day, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS every day and offers an additional 5GB of data. As for the Rs 545 plan, you get 2GB of 4G mobile data every 24 hours, unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day and an additional 5GB of data. These plans also give you access to JioGames Cloud, the company's cloud-based gaming service that lets you play games without having to download them. While these perks may sound familiar, these plans also include a bunch of BGMI goodies like Bard's Journey Set, Desert Taskforce Mask, and Tap Boom Molotov Cocktail. Once you get it, head over to the MyJio app to find your BGMI reward codes and visit the official BGMI redeem page. Here, enter your character ID along with the reward code, and you will get a message saying 'Code has been redeemed.' In case you are interested in trying out the JioGames app, install it from the Play Store and log in using your Jio number. To give you a quick recap, the company's cloud gaming service lets you stream and play more than 500 premium games across a wide range of devices like web browsers, Jio set-top boxes and Android TV,s to name a few.

MNRE launches Rs 2.3 crore start-up challenge

New Delhi [India], June 21 (ANI): The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has launched the Innovative Projects Start-Up Challenge on Rooftop Solar (RTS) and Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) Technologies, during the National Conference on Skill Development for the Renewable Energy Workforce at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi. This unique national innovation challenge aims to identify and support breakthrough solutions for India's rooftop solar and distributed energy ecosystem, the statement from the Ministry said. It is being implemented under the aegis of MNRE with support from the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), and in coordination with StartUp India, DPIIT. Further, as per the statement, the Start-Up Challenge seeks applications from innovators and startups in India, focusing on four key categories to boost renewable energy adoption: Affordability - Making rooftop solar affordable for low- and middle-income households using innovative financing, modular systems, and circular economy strategies. Resilience - Enhancing climate resilience, grid stability, and cybersecurity in solar infrastructure, especially for vulnerable and remote areas. Inclusivity - Expanding access to underserved communities through community solar, virtual net metering, and inclusive financing models. Environmental Sustainability - Promoting eco-friendly technologies such as solar panel recycling, land-neutral solar deployment, and hybrid clean energy models. The challenge welcomes a wide range of startups in green tech, IoT, AI, blockchain, construction, energy hardware, fintech, and waste management. The selected innovators will compete for a total prize pool of Rs 2.3 crore, including Rs one crore for 1st Prize, Rs 50 lakh for 2nd Prize, Rs 30 lakh for the third Prize, and 10 Consolation Prizes of Rs five lakh each. Winners will also gain incubation support, pilot implementation opportunities, and mentorship from domain experts and investors, facilitated by MNRE and NISE. The last date for applications is August 20, 2025, and the result will be announced on September 10, 2025. Applications can be submitted through Startup India's website. (ANI)
