Mayor demands removal of corporator Anwar Qadri
Indore: Indore mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav on Friday wrote to the divisional commissioner to remove corporator Anwar Qadri from his post, citing serious allegations including sedition, a history of criminal activity, and recent involvement in communal sloganeering. "The demand for Qadri's dismissal comes in the wake of escalating tensions and protests within the city," Bhargav said. 1 2 3 Ranchi: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) on Friday produced Chhattisgarh-based businessman Siddharth Singhania before the court in Ranchi in connection with the Rs 38 crore liquor scam in Jharkhand. The ACB did not pray for his police remand leading the court to send him to jail under judicial custody. The ACB had arrested Singhania from Raipur on Thursday. He was brought to Ranchi on a 72-hour transit remand. TNN The arrest came after the special ACB court in Ranchi issued an arrest warrant against Singhania. The ACB had prayed the court for warrant after Singhania failed to appear before for it on summons for facing questions related to case.

Man posing as customer care agent held
New Delhi: A 25-year-old man was arrested in Kolkata for allegedly defrauding people by posing as a customer care executive and sending malicious mobile applications to gain remote access to victims' phones. According to police, the case came to light on April 17 when a west Delhi resident, who was awaiting the delivery of his new credit card, searched online for customer care support after missing the delivery. He called a number listed on a random website and was asked to pay Rs 5 for redelivery. The fraudster then sent him a malicious .apk file, claiming it would facilitate the payment. Soon after the victim downloaded the file, Rs 50,000 was fraudulently debited from his account, said DCP (west) Vichitra Veer. The complainant provided screenshots of the UPI transactions, and technical analysis led police to the beneficiary UPI ID linked to Asad Ali Abbas, 25, a resident of Chittaranjan Avenue in Kolkata.
