6 unauthorized schools identified in Pimpri-Chinchwad; parents advised against admissions

Hindustan Times5 days ago

The education department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has identified six unauthorised English-medium schools operating within the limits of the twin city, and has issued a strong advisory to parents urging them not to admit their children to these institutions.
For the academic year 2025–26, the PCMC conducted a citywide survey to identify schools operating without proper permission. During this exercise, six English-medium schools were found to be functioning without the required official recognition from the authorities. Despite repeated notices and appeals from the education department, these schools had failed to obtain the necessary approvals, resulting in them being classified as 'unauthorised'.
Assistant commissioner of the education department, Tanaji Narle, said, 'Parents should not admit their children to these six schools. If they do, they alone will be responsible for any academic losses or inconvenience that may arise. We will be placing public notices outside these schools to alert the public. The list of these unauthorised schools has also been submitted to the Zilla Parishad for further action.'
The move aims to safeguard students from enrolling in institutions that do not meet educational standards or legal requirements. The department has reiterated that attending such unauthorised schools may negatively impact students' future prospects, including eligibility for board exams and transfer certificates.
This action is part of a broader initiative by the PCMC to regulate the quality and legality of schools operating in the twin city. Authorities are also encouraging parents to verify the recognition status of schools before seeking admissions for their children, to ensure a secure and valid educational journey.

Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday said Congress is in favour of Hindi but English opens new avenues in the world for everyone. Gehlot's comments came a day after Home Minister Amit Shah's reported remarks on English. "Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi and all of us are also in favour of Hindi but English is an international language which opens new avenues in the world for everyone," Gehlot said in a post on X. "Home Minister Shah and many people of BJP-RSS are against English although the people of the country know that the children of most of the Union ministers are studying abroad and they confuse the people here," the Congress leader said. During childhood, we also used to oppose English but it has become the need of the hour, so we also changed our 'approach', he said. Today, in the era of computers, internet, Artificial Intelligence, the young generation can be completely successful in life through English, Gehlot said. The previous Congress government in Rajasthan established about 3700 Mahatma Gandhi English medium schools to promote education in English among the poor and middle class and rural areas. Due to this decision, about 6.50 lakh students started receiving education in English, he said. The Congress leader added, "The BJP government in the state tried to close these English medium schools but could not take such a step due to their popularity among the public.

Responding to Mr. Shah's recent remark that English-speaking Indians may soon feel ashamed, Mr. Palaniswami said the mother tongue holds an important place in society and added that everybody has their own views. "Wants to divide the country": Nishikant Dubey hits out at Rahul Gandhi over his allegations on Centre related to English language

Deoghar (Jharkhand) [India], June 21 (ANI): BJP MP Nishikant Dubey criticised Rahul Gandhi's allegations on the Union Government of imposing Hindi and refusal to learn English, stating that people raising such issues want to 'divide' countries. Nishikant Dubey mentioned that every language, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and others, is essential for the Indian government. He explained that the government wants to progress with all the regional languages and mentioned that Hindi and English are both 'connecting' languages in it. 'We do not want to impose any language, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Santhali are also important for us. We want to progress with all the regional Indian languages and Hindi and English are also connecting languages. Whoever wants to take up these things Nishikant Dubey mentioned that every language, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and others, is essential for the Indian government. ', Nishikant Dubey told ANI. On Friday, Rahul Gandhi shared an 'X' post favouring the English language, stating that it is not 'shame' but 'power' and helps provide employment and boosts confidence. He alleged that the BJP and RSS do not want the poor children to learn English as they do not want the empowerment of these children. He said that every language of India has soul, culture, knowledge, which shall be cherished but at the same time, English language should be learnt by every child. 'It is not an English dam, it is a bridge. English is not shame, it is power. English is not a chain - it is a tool to break the chains. BJP-RSS don't want poor kids of India to learn English - because they don't want you to ask questions, move ahead, and become equal. In today's world, English is as important as your mother tongue - because it will provide employment and boost your confidence. Every language of India has soul, culture, knowledge. We have to cherish them - and at the same time teach English to every child. This is the path to an India that competes with the world, that gives every child an equal opportunity', the 'X' post read. (ANI)
