Harriet revealed her top tips for getting out of big debts
Credit: TIKTOK
Now, through her TikTok account, 'thefreedomfinancecoach,' she's on a mission to help others achieve financial freedom by sharing practical and empowering advice."
'No one teaches you this when you're broke, but I will,' Harriet says in one of her videos.
'If you're barely making it through the month and your debt feels like it's swallowing you whole, this is for you.'
With a relatable and empowering approach, Harriet introduces herself as someone who has been through the same challenges and comes out the other side debt-free, including her home.
Her step-by-step advice is designed for those who feel overwhelmed by their finances, especially when every pound counts.
Harriet begins by urging people to prioritise survival: 'Food, shelter, electricity - these come first.
"Debt collectors will have to wait, especially if your essentials aren't covered.'
She then emphasises the importance of using a zero-based budget, where every pound is assigned a specific job.
Even for those earning between £800 and £1,000 a month, Harriet insists that budgeting down to the last penny gives greater control over finances.
Her tips don't shy away from tough decisions either. 'Cut ruthlessly,' she advises.
I'm in £15k worth of debt but STILL have TWO gardeners - people might judge me but they are an essential and a godsend
'No Netflix, no takeaways, no unnecessary subscriptions. You're in survival mode now - luxuries can wait until you're out of debt.'
Tracking every penny is another cornerstone of Harriet's strategy.
Whether it's through a notebook, an app, or her favourite method - the Cash Envelope system - she believes that awareness is key and not to 'bleed money' that you can't see.
Harriet also recommends creating a mini emergency fund, even if it's just £100.
It's the only way to change your situation. It's really hard but possible
TikTok comment
She warns that without it 'every emergency' like a flat tire 'can wipe out your entire budget.'
While she acknowledges that the journey to financial freedom isn't easy, Harriet reassures her audience that it's possible.
'I did it too,' she says with confidence.
Her video, which was shared on 9 June, has received 48.1k views and 51 comments.

Lauren Taylor, from the UK, took to social media to inform people about what they shouldn't do when ordering a coffee. Lauren will greet customers with a 'hello' but instead of saying it back, many bark their drink order at her. "A simple hello goes a long way," she reminded them. Another grievance of Lauren's was that customers would not pick a size for their drink, instead insisting they wanted a 'normal' size. She urged them to simply look at the available sizes and pick one. The barista was also fed up with customers thinking she was a mind reader when it came to what coffee they wanted. Many would ask for 'just a coffee' despite having twenty different ones to choose from Lauren would often suggest a classic Americano with milk, but would be corrected by the customer that they wanted a latte. The barista was often stuck calling out the coffee order to the customer standing in front of them with no reply in return. She said it seems like customers often forget what they ordered or choose to blatantly ignore her. Huge coffee chain with over 1,300 shops to close high street shop Last but not least, Lauren was sick of customers ordering their coffee while being busy on the phone. Not only was it rude, but customers often order the wrong drink as they're preoccupied and then blame the barista. "Somehow, this is still my fault," she said. The video has since gone viral on her TikTok account @laurenjtaylor with over 88k views. Costa Coffee loyalty scheme perks COSTA Club members can get early access to new menus among other perks. To join download the Costa Coffee app, it's free to download via the Apple app store or Google Play store. Stamps can be collected in any of the chain's 2,800 coffee shops, as well as around 12,000 machines in petrol stations and convenience stores. You can get stamps for spending in store and using a reusable cup. You get a free drink after collecting ten stamps, or beans as they are called. For a small latte, at £3.50, it's £35 to get a free coffee. Those going to a Costa store can earn an additional bean with a reusable cup, so that cuts the outlay down to £17.50 or buying five coffees. How it works: 1 drink purchased = 1 bean, 10 beans = free drink Small latte cost: £3.50 Number of drinks to hit target: 10 Cost for a 'free' coffee: £35 Reusable cup bonus: Yes, one extra bean You also get free cake on your birthday. Plenty of people who work in hospitality took to the comments, sharing their own stories. One person wrote: "I work at Greggs and I feel your pain." Another commented: 'I had a woman last week ask me for a normal coffee… she wanted an oat milk flat white." "'Regular latte' 'Ok medium' 'No?? Small,'" penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "I work at Costa and can confirm all these things are 100% spot on." "As someone who works in a cinema I totally understand this! No one ever tells you what they actually want,' claimed a fifth. Someone else added: ''Can I get a white coffee' then proceeds to argue with me that a white coffee is a latte and there's no such thing as an americano with milk.2

Thousands of of ASOS customers banned and accounts deleted as retailer cracks down on ‘insane' policy

The move has been branded a 'joke' and 'insane' by loyal customers - but what are your rights? We explain NO RETURN Thousands of of ASOS customers banned and accounts deleted as retailer cracks down on 'insane' policy Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) THOUSANDS of ASOS customers have had their accounts banned and deleted as the retailer cracks the whip on its return policy. Shoppers were sent emails detailing how their accounts had been closed with "immediate effect" after the online retailer said they breached the terms of its Fair Use Policy. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 A number of customers were told they could no longer shop with ASOS Credit: ASOS The move sparked fury among punters, with many describing the move as "unfair" and "insane". Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one shopper said: "Account closed for consistent breaches of their [ASOS] Fair Use policy when I haven't returned anything since October." While another confused user said: " I haven't shopped with ASOS in over a year and I still get an email telling me my account is being closed." Another upset customer said: "ASOS have really hurt me today closing my account what did I do?." And a fourth added: "I've made three orders in the last six months and from those orders sent back only one pair of jeans. "This is a joke, I've been a loyal customer for years and now you close my account . An ASOS spokesperson: "We recently closed the accounts of a small group of customers whose shopping activity has consistently fallen outside our Fair Use policy. "This helps us maintain our commitment to offering free returns to all customers across all core markets." It is understood that even if customers have not used their account in recent months, it could still be closed if they breached policy rules. Last year, the online department store said it would charge customers for returning items unless they spent a certain amount. The new rule means shoppers only get free returns if they keep £40 or more of their order. My Asos dress looks so high end it's giving Balmain on a budget – it's perfect for a birthday, I'm begging you to buy it Otherwise, £3.95 will be deducted from their refund. Premier ASOS customers, who pay £9.95 a year for free delivery, are also not exempt from the change. But they only need to keep £15 of their order to dodge the charge. The digital department store previously said its profits were bruised by customers making large orders and not keeping all of the items. However, the move has been labelled as unfair by many punters, especially as they cannot try before they buy when shopping online. CRACK DOWN ON RETURNS And ASOS is not the only online store to crack down on customers who make frequent returns. H&M, Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing, and Zara are among stores which now charge customers. Next also introduced the change at the start of 2023 and customers now have to fork out £2.50 per item returned. In December 2023, Debenhams left shoppers feeling "cheated" after introducing a charge for returning online goods.

‘Old and ugly' shopping centre loved in the 80s set to get major £2million revamp

Read on to find what changes will be made to the mall NEW SLATE 'Old and ugly' shopping centre loved in the 80s set to get major £2million revamp Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A DETERIORATING shopping centre which was once popular in the 80s will finally get a major revamp. A local council is expected to splurge £2million to revive the mall to its former glory. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 2 A shopping centre that opened in 1979 has been called 'old and ugly' by locals Credit: Castle Point Council/Ingleton Wood 2 It is set to receive £2million worth refurbishment Credit: Castle Point Council/Ingleton Wood The Knightswick Shopping Centre on Canvey Island was built in 1978, and has since lost its charm. Castle Point Council bought the mall in October 2019 and has now made plans to spend £2,154,600 to refurbish the place. During a cabinet meeting on June 18, Tom Gibson, People's Independent Party councillor for special projects and assets, said: 'This is, of course, a good news story, and the investment in and revitalisation of a valued and economically important commercial asset should be welcomed. "To conclude, this is a fantastic opportunity to breathe new life into a highly valued commercial asset and the heart of our community.' The shopping centre boasts 28 ground-floor shop units inside and around the mall. The original plans, which were approved, called for new lighting, pilasters, ceiling treatments, and floor finishes. The council will also be replacing high-level windows, mall fixtures, fittings and furniture, as well as branding, signage and installing CCTV. The centre's three entry doors will all be completely replaced too. The planning permission for the revamp was granted in December 2023 but the works won't start until February next year. Residents can expect to see an improved mall by June 2026. Fly-through video shows what major Scots city will look like after huge £20m revamp David Blackwell, Canvey Independent leader of the council, said: 'It's been a long journey on this, so it will be good now we can see the works going. "I think really, looking at some of the photos from the architects I think the Knightswick Centre will look absolutely superb when the works are finished next year, so we all look forward to that.' Locals have long been calling for the refurbishment, saying the mall was "very rundown" and "old, ugly and boring". Some people only used it as a shortcut path to the nearest Sainbury's. It comes after a shabby shopping centre in an industrial UK town is set to receive a multi-million-pound revamp. Property developers purchased the town's central shopping centre from former owners late last year, with major plans to transform it.
