The officials also reviewed progress on the upcoming EJ-KOSEN project, a technical education initiative slated to launch in September, designed to cultivate highly skilled engineers and specialists. The two sides expressed mutual interest in expanding future cooperation in industrial human resource development and inclusive education for individuals with special needs.
Minister Abe also met with Amr Adly, President of E-JUST, to explore ways to further strengthen institutional collaboration. In addition, she toured an applied technology school that trains technicians at the secondary level, the Japanese School in Cairo, and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Turkish investments in Egypt, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty met with a group of Turkish business leaders in Istanbul on the sidelines of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation's ministerial meeting. During the meeting, Abdelatty underscored the growing economic ties between Egypt and Turkey, highlighting the significant progress in trade and investment cooperation. He announced that bilateral trade between the two countries reached nearly $9bn in 2024, with Turkey emerging as a key destination for Egyptian exports. Conversely, Egypt has become one of the leading African markets for Turkish goods. The Minister stressed the need for collaborative efforts from both governments and private sector stakeholders to achieve the target of raising bilateral trade to $15bn—a goal agreed upon by the political leaderships of both countries to deepen economic integration and serve shared interests. Abdelatty highlighted the importance of the Egypt-Türkiye free trade agreement, in force since 2005, as a key driver of trade growth. He also noted the potential to expand its scope and remove remaining barriers to trade to further enhance economic cooperation. Welcoming the rising volume of Turkish investments in Egypt, Abdelatty expressed Egypt's commitment to attracting more Turkish capital by leveraging its extensive network of trade agreements and the investor-friendly environment of the Suez Canal Economic Zone. He also pointed to the incentives and facilities available to foreign investors, affirming the government's resolve to address any challenges facing Turkish businesses. In this context, he cited the recent decision by the Egyptian Prime Minister to establish a dedicated unit to support Turkish investments and ensure smooth business operations in the country.

Egypt, Turkey aim to boost trade to $15 bln: FM Abdelatty - Foreign Affairs

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said during a Friday meeting with Turkish business leaders in Istanbul that Egypt and Turkey seek to deepen economic ties and increase bilateral trade from $9 billion to $15 billion. According to Egypt's Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty described Turkey as a key destination for Egyptian exports and positioned Egypt as a strategic gateway for Turkish goods into African markets. The meeting, held on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's ministerial gathering, is part of broader efforts to strengthen Turkish investment in Egypt. Abdelatty said the political leadership of both countries set the $15 billion target and reflects a shared commitment to closer economic integration. After years of diplomatic strain, relations between the two countries have warmed significantly. President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan co-chaired the inaugural session of the High-level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara in September 2024 — a body established by joint declaration during Erdoğan's earlier visit to Cairo. The council aims to elevate bilateral relations to the strategic level across multiple sectors. During the meeting with Turkish business representatives, Abdelatty discussed opportunities for expanding trade and removing barriers to growth. He underscored the importance of the Egypt-Turkey free trade agreement, which has been in force since 2005, as a key mechanism for reaching the new trade target. He also welcomed the recent increase in Turkish investment in Egypt, citing advantages such as Egypt's membership in multiple regional trade agreements and the incentives available within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo's support for Turkish investors, noting that Egypt's prime minister had established a dedicated unit to facilitate Turkish investment and help resolve any challenges they may encounter.
