Bengaluru traffic updates: Benniganahalli to Kasturi Nagar road closed for three months
Commuters travelling through East Bengaluru should brace for major traffic diversions starting June 14, as the city traffic police have announced a 90-day restriction due to ongoing railway bridge work near KR Pura.
According to an advisory issued by the Bengaluru Traffic Police, vehicular movement will be prohibited on the Coca Cola Godown Road, specifically from Benniganahalli (Sadanandanagar Bridge) to Old Madras Road, to facilitate construction by the Railway Department.
The restricted area falls under the jurisdiction of the KR Pura Traffic Police Station.

To ease congestion and maintain traffic flow, the following alternative routes have been suggested vehicles moving from Old Madras Road (Benniganahalli Railway Bridge) towards Kasturinagar should take the Hebbal Ring Road bypass to reach their destination.
Vehicles travelling from Kasturinagar to Old Madras Road can use the Sadanandanagar route via NGEF Signal.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic East), Sahil Bagla, has urged citizens to cooperate with the diversions and follow signage and instructions from traffic personnel during the period of restriction.
The railway bridge work is expected to continue for approximately three months.

Bengaluru: Close on the heels of the ban on bike-taxi services, Bengalureans complained about rising incidents of "autocracy" with several incidents of autorickshaw drivers fleecing the commuters with faulty meters. Cracking the whip on such errant drivers, Bengaluru Traffic Police booked over 1,000 cases Saturday and collected Rs 4.9 lakh in fine from autorickshaws and other traffic violators in the west division. The highest number of cases (84) was booked against auto drivers not wearing the khaki uniform, resulting in a fine of Rs 42,000. Similarly, 52 cases were booked against those demanding excess fare and Rs 21,600 was collected in fine. Delhi Police arrests over 100 narco-offenders, seizes drugs and illegal arms
In a massive crackdown against narco-offenders and organised crime, the Delhi Police carried out Operation Kavach 8.0 across the city, conducting simultaneous raids at 1,040 locations in all 15 police districts, including operations by the crime branch and special cell, the officials said. The drive also led to the arrest of 55 persons under the Gambling Act with ₹ 25,592 in cash. (Representational image) Special commissioner of police (crime) said that the 24-hour drive, which began on Wednesday evening at 6 pm, led to the arrest of 139 narco-offenders in 133 NDPS cases, with the recovery of 90.3 grams of heroin, 25.9 kilograms of ganja, 3.32 grams of cocaine, 4.63 grams of MDMA, 20.08 grams amphetamine, and 12 buprenorphine tablets. 'The crackdown also extended to liquor, arms, and gambling offences. As many as 217 cases were registered under the Delhi Excise Act, resulting in the arrest of 224 individuals and seizure of 47,476 quarters of illicit liquor, along with 125 beer bottles and 158 cans. Additionally, 30 people were arrested under the Arms Act, with seizures including eight pistols, seven live cartridges, three magazines, and 23 knives,' he said. The drive also led to the arrest of 55 persons under the Gambling Act with ₹ 25,592 in cash, and 5,682 people were taken into preventive custody.
