‘What are they waiting for?' Missing Pamela Ling's family questions police silence, lack of Interpol alert

The family also asked when Malaysian police would alert the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) about her case.
Advertisement Speaking on behalf of Ling's family, their lawyer Sangeet Kaur Deo noted that the police have no leads after recording the statements of 47 persons in its investigation on her April 9 disappearance. Sangeet said Ling's family had over the past six weeks provided information beyond what was requested, but that there was no feedback on investigations into the information given. Sangeet listed six questions to the police regarding the case, including whether the police had thoroughly questioned MACC officers. 'Have the PDRM determined the nature of information that Pamela was providing to MACC and who were interested parties? Have statements been taken from them?' she asked in a statement today. Sangeet said Ling's family was informed a few weeks ago that one of the cars seen on close circuit television (CCTV) footage was found abandoned near the Thai border, and that no updates have been given on forensic testing of items found in the car. 'Given the obvious possibility that she was taken across the border, the family was last informed (a few weeks ago) that Interpol had not yet been alerted,' she said, asking what the police are waiting for regarding alerting Interpol. She also asked if the police had complied with its own standard operating procedures (SOPs) in missing persons cases, and if it had asked for expert assistance if it required such aid. Malaysian police praised for cleaning up KL accident scene
'WHO says Malaysian police are no good? Malaysian police are the best in the world, not just any ordinary force!' That was among the praise from netizens towards the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) following the actions of several traffic police officers who helped clean up accident debris at the Jalan Perak/Jalan P. Ramlee junction yesterday evening. The swift action by the officers was taken to ease traffic flow while preventing any unwanted incidents involving road users. The video and words of appreciation for them were also shared on PDRM's social media pages. 'Well done and highest appreciation to Corporal Mohd Nasrul Bistaman and Constable Muhammad Zuhairy Aziz from the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department for their concern in helping to clean up accident debris at the Jalan Perak/Jalan P. Ramlee junction yesterday evening. 'Their quick action together with two other colleagues, Corporal Muhammad Qusairy Abd. Wahab and Constable Wilson Maranda, as well as members of the public, not only reflects noble values in their duty but also helped smooth traffic flow at the scene,' the statement said. PDRM's post attracted public attention, with netizens continuously praising and thanking them for all of PDRM's services to the country. 'Noble work. Man's body discovered off Tanjung Aru coast

KOTA KINABALU: Police have launched an investigation after a man's body was found floating in the sea near the Sunsite Bar area in Tanjung Aru on Monday. The discovery was reported to authorities by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) at around 2.30pm. APM personnel retrieved the body and brought it ashore to the APM Tower in Tanjung Aru for further action. Police units from the Kota Kinabalu MPV teams and Kepayan Ridge Patrol Unit, along with forensic officers, were deployed to the scene.
