Crime drama enthusiasts on Netflix can indulge in a new series this weekend. North Shore, initially released in 2023, has now become available to watch on the streaming platform.
This captivating thriller, set against the stunning Australian landscape, features Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt and Game of Thrones' John Bradley in a six-episode series.
The story begins in picturesque Sydney Harbour, where a team of British and Australian detectives join forces to solve a complex murder mystery after the body of a young British woman is discovered on the shore.
The series boasts an impressive cast, including Kirsty Sturgess from Young Rock, Claire Lovering from Home and Away and Chris Alosio from Surviving Summer.

According to Netflix, the show is described as: "When a UK minister's daughter dies mysteriously in Sydney, a London detective must team up with his Australian counterpart to unravel the mystery."
This gripping drama was initially released on ITV and ITVX in January this year, with fans labelling it as a "replacement" for the long-running series Vera, which concluded after 14 years, reports the Express.
Joanne Froggatt takes on the lead role of Abigail Crawford, while John Bradley plays British detective Max Wylie.

The Chase star Mark Labbett says 'it's an honour' 16 years after ITV show debut

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase's Mark Labbett was quick to issue a message to one of the celebrity guests during Saturday's show. During the episode, which originally aired last year, ITV viewers saw 'The Beast' go head to head with the likes of Raj Bisram, Danielle Harold, John Conteh and Roger Black, who were all competing to win money for their charity. With the Antiques Roadshow expert and EastEnders star successfully managing to make it back to the table with the money they had earned in their round, it was time for former British professional boxer John Conteh to face Mark. The 74-year-old answered three questions correctly, meaning he had earned a total of £3,000 to potentially bring back to the team. However, before facing Mark at the table, the quizzer had some kind words to say to the boxing champ. He said: 'Good evening, John. It's not often I say this, but it's an honour, sir, to meet you.' The audience gave a collective sound of admiration for Mark's remark as John thanked him. Bradley added: 'He loves his boxing!' Although the niceties were short-lived as Mark replied: 'Right, that's the last compliment you'll get.' Sadly, John didn't make it back to the table as Mark caught him at the table during his round. In the end, it was Raj, Danielle and Roger in the final Chase as they were playing to win a staggering £120,000 after Roger decided to go for Mark's high offer. Getting a three-step headstart, the team managed to answer 11 questions correctly, setting a target of 14 for the chaser to try and beat. With two minutes on the clock, Mark managed to catch the team with 47 seconds left on the clock to spare. Speaking about their performance, the quizzer, who has been part of the ITV show for 16 years, said: 'I'm sorry guys, the way they broke, either I knew them, or they were so tough you didn't stand a prayer at pushing me back.' Meanwhile, host Bradley Walsh said: 'We missed John Conteh, of course, you needed a full house, and we needed a bigger score on our side of that run, but that's just the way it is.' However, the ITV star informed the team that they won't be walking away empty handed as they'd each get £1,000 to give to their chosen charity. The Chase is available to watch on ITVX

Jules Thomas: How my leukaemia was caused by Sophie Toscan du Plantier stress

For over two years Jules Thomas, the former partner of the Sophie Toscan du Plantier murder suspect Ian Bailey, spared her three daughters from the devastating truth that she is suffering from leukaemia. 'I just couldn't bring myself to tell them, to give my girls that worry and upset. I kept it to myself for as long as I could,' she told The Sunday Times. 'Eventually I decided they should know, so I wrote letters at the same time to each of my daughters to tell them.' Thomas now counts herself among the 220 people in Ireland every year who are diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, an incurable, slowly progressing blood cancer. The Welsh-born landscape artist has been embroiled in a legal battle against Netflix for several years. In a long-running High Court case, Thomas claims she was defamed in the three-part documentary series Sophie: A Murder in West Cork. She has alleged that the show, screened in 2021, contains a number of inaccuracies and she also claims in her legal action against the streaming giant and the production company Lightbox Media for injurious falsehood and infliction of emotional suffering. All of these claims are, however, understood to be denied by Netflix and Light Box Media, which are fully defending the action.

But his lucrative deal for the weekend performances will not be renewed at the end of this year. A source said: 'Stephen has been a massive hit with holidaymakers. 'He began his career as a Redcoat and has kept families brilliantly entertained.' The end of the deal comes after Mulhern collapsed in a Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berkshire, late last year. He was also left devastated by the death of his father Christopher, who taught him magician tricks as a child. In March, ITV announced that Dancing On Ice - which he hosted with close pal Holly Willoughby - would not return next year. And his game show In For A Penny, which saw Stephen head to different places around the UK to challenge members of the public, was shelved by ITV after six series. But he is due to start to start filming for his challenge show You Bet! on Tour next week — without Holly, after she quit the show in March. Stephen, a close pal of Ant and Dec, started out in children's TV in 2001 when he was the presenter of the game show Finger Tips. He presented Britain's Got More Talent until the cancellation of the spin-off in 2019. A Butlin's spokesperson said: 'Stephen has been an incredible part of the Butlin's experience and continues to be a valued member of the family. 'Stephen's much-loved live show won't return in 2026 after three fantastic years, but we're thrilled to be working together on ongoing projects this autumn.' A spokesman for Stephen said: 'Stephen has absolutely loved being part of the Butlin's family — performing his stage shows in front of thousands of holiday makers across the country and the relationship with Butlin's remains hugely positive. 'This change allows Stephen to explore new opportunities in the family holiday space – something he's incredibly passionate about.'
