Virginia Giuffre's father insists she didn't die by suicide: ‘Somebody got to her'
The father of Jeffery Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre does not believe his daughter died by suicide, insisting instead that 'somebody got to her.'
Grieving his daughter's death on Thursday, Sky Roberts refuted his family's claim that Giuffre — the most prominent victim of the disgraced financier — could have taken her own life.
'No way,' Roberts said on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored.' 'I can't believe that this is happening. It's just, it's impossible.'

'And then for them to say that she committed suicide, there's no way that she did. Somebody got to her.'
Giuffre, 41, was found dead in her home in Neergabby, Australia, last week, with her family confirming that she had committed suicide and left a note behind with a final message for sexual abuse survivors.
Roberts said he continues to sob over his daughter's death, describing Giuffre as a survivor who stood strong for others despite the horrors she experienced when she was a teenager taken by Epstein.

'As someone who actually got out of a bad situation and made a good situation out of it, that she was helping a lot of other young girls that were feeling the pain of what goes on with people like that… I think she's strong, very strong, and that's why I don't think she committed suicide,' Roberts said.
'She had too much to live for. She had her foundation,' he added, referencing Giuffre's advocacy work.

Two men shot outside Gary truck stop
Gary Police are searching for the suspect or suspects who shot two other men at a Gary truck stop Monday night. Officers were dispatched around 9:31 pm June 16 to the Pilot Travel Center, 2501 Burr St., for two shooting victims, Gary Police spokesman Cpt. Sam Roberts said in a press release. The injured men — one a 22-year-old from Matteson, Illinois and the other a 23-year-old from Lynwood, Illinois — are cousins, police learned, and the older victim was shot several times while the younger man was shot once in the chest. One of the victims told police that several men in a dark SUV started shooting at them as the two walked across the parking lot, and he ran into the business and hid in the Pilot bathroom, Roberts said in the release. The other victim, however, refused to give police information; officers recovered a handgun from one of the victims, Roberts said. A local business gave officers video footage, which a dark-colored Jeep Cherokee speeding away from the area at the time of the shooting, Roberts said in the release. Bomb squad responds to incident involving man with alleged history of making explosives
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) – What started as a domestic dispute resulted in the bomb squad being called in and discovering an explosive device. The initial incident happened around 7:40 a.m., Thursday after the Grand Junction Police Department responded to a report of a fight in the 2000 block of North 21st Street. After arriving at the scene, officers learned the dispute turned into a physical altercation. The man, Dominic Roberts, 26, was then taken into custody. During their investigation, officers discovered Roberts allegedly had a history of making and detonating homemade improvised explosive devices (IUD) in remote desert areas. Officers obtained a search warrant for the home while the GJ Bomb squad was called in to assist. During the search, bomb technicians found a homemade IUD inside the house and safely removed it. Roberts was transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility and was booked for second-degree assault, harassment, domestic violence, possession, use or removal of explosive devices and failure or refusal to leave premises or property with a weapon. GJPD said it believes this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. 'We remind the community to report suspicious activity or information to law enforcement immediately. Community awareness and timely reporting can make a significant difference in public safety,' the police department said in a news release. The case remains under investigation.
