NxtQuantum's AI+ smartphone is launching by June end

GSM Arena30-05-2025

Alcatel, led by Madhav Sheth in India, made a comeback to the smartphone industry a few days ago. However, Sheth is also leading NxtQuantum Shift Technologies as its founder and CEO, which will launch a new smartphone under the AI+ brand in India by the end of June.
There's no information available about this AI+ smartphone's specs, and the brand has only confirmed that it will run NxtQuantum OS, which we hope will be based on Android 15.
The first AI+ smartphone will be sold in India through Flipkart. The company said that it has been designed and made in India to provide an experience tailored to the Indian market. It will also focus on user privacy for a secure experience.

We should hear more about this AI+ smartphone as we inch closer to its launch.

Apple sued again over broken AI promises, and this time by its own shareholders

Apple is now facing a new legal challenge, this time from its own shareholders. A proposed securities fraud class action was filed in federal court on June 20, accusing the company of misleading investors about the timeline and capabilities of its artificial intelligence features, particularly those tied to Siri and the iPhone 16. The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco's Northern District of California, claims Apple downplayed how long it would take to deliver the AI upgrades it introduced as part of Apple Intelligence. The plaintiffs argue that these delays contributed to a decline in iPhone sales and a significant drop in the company's stock value. The case, Tucker v. Apple Inc, names CEO Tim Cook, CFO Kevan Parekh, and former CFO Luca Maestri as defendants. According to the complaint, investors were led to believe that Apple Intelligence would be a key selling point for the iPhone 16 lineup, offering smarter and more capable Siri experiences. But shareholders claim Apple did not actually have a working version of those features when it made those announcements during the June 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference. The situation became more complicated earlier this year when Apple reportedly postponed some of the new Siri capabilities to 2026. That initial delay came in March, and was followed by a WWDC 2025 presentation that left many analysts underwhelmed with the company's AI progress. In the months since, Apple shares have fallen nearly 25 percent from their all-time high in late December 2024, wiping out about $900 billion in market value. Apple's broken AI promise prompted this new round of litigation. | Image credit — Apple via Wayback Machine From a consumer standpoint, I think it was only a matter of time before legal action followed. Many users were expecting next-gen Siri features out of the box. Now that the lawsuit is official, Apple may need to move quickly to restore trust. Ideally, that means delivering more AI upgrades sooner, though it's likely the company will now be more cautious about overpromising in the future. Secure your connection now at a bargain price! AI+ smartphones' designs and colors officially revealed, launch postponed to July

Last month, we learned that AI+, a smartphone brand part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies, led by Realme India's former CEO Madhav Sheth, will launch its first smartphone by the end of June. This revelation came from Indian online retailer Flipkart, which has now revealed that the smartphones will arrive in July instead. Flipkart also shared images of two smartphones and showed one in five colors. Its back panel has two cameras, with the text on the camera island confirming the primary camera uses a 50MP sensor. AI+ smartphones The second smartphone looks similar to the AI+ Nova 2 5G, whose design was exclusively revealed by us first earlier this month. While Flipkart only showed us this phone in one color, Madhav Sheth shared an image revealing all color options of this model. You can see that the smartphone has a flat design, sports a dual camera setup on the rear, and features a red-accented power key. The communication we received from AI+ says this model has a "lightweight form," supports dual SIMs, and is "designed for fast, responsive performance." Looks good and keeps your data safe. #AiPlusSmartphone #NxtQuantum #BuiltForYou — Madhav Sheth (@MadhavSheth1) June 20, 2025 AI+ is betting big on the privacy and security aspects of these smartphones and said that its phones will "give users real control over their data, ensure cloud transparency, and enable an experience that is private, auditable, and secure by default." Additionally, AI+ stated that the NxtQuantum OS, running on its smartphones, is "auditable, policy-aligned, and governed by Indian law." The brand also claimed that "all user data is stored within India on MeitY-approved servers hosted by Google Cloud." While AI+ hasn't officially revealed the names of its smartphones, it has confirmed that they will be sold in India exclusively through Flipkart. The brand is also expected to launch a smartwatch with built-in TWS earphones. An image of the smartwatch's retail box, which we exclusively shared earlier this month, revealed that it would be called "wearbuds Watch 3." We were told AI+ would unveil the smartwatch alongside its smartphones.

Apple could buy Perplexity AI, internal sources say

According to Mark Gurman's internal sources, Apple's executives are discussing the possibility of acquiring Perplexity AI, an AI-powered web search engine that has gained traction in the last year or so. However, the discussions are at an early stage, and Apple's mergers and acquisitions chief is overseeing them, along with executives at Apple's AI department. So, it's too early to tell whether the two companies will reach a deal. In fact, when asked for a comment, a Perplexity spokesperson said they have no knowledge of any current or future discussions on the matter. Even if Apple decides to acquire Perplexity AI, it will have several hurdles to overcome. For instance, the company is currently valued at $14 billion, which would be its biggest investment to date. Also, Perplexity is already in advanced talks with Samsung to integrate some of its features into Samsung's ecosystem. Source
