North Wales filmmakers shortlisted for Into Film Awards

The North Wales nominees are among seven Welsh entries at the national event, the highest ever from Wales and more than any other Celtic nation this year.
In Conwy, Clandoodno Productions has earned two nominations.
Araminta Stuart, 16, leads both projects – Beware the Zoomies, alongside Cole Kendall, Micah Hampton and Ethan Tyrrell, and her solo film Tipping Point, which is shortlisted in the Time for Action category.
The team at Clandoodno Productions said: "We're so honoured to be nominated for this award.
"We're so, so excited and absolutely cannot wait for the awards ceremony.
"We've worked so hard on this film, so it's so encouraging to have our work recognised and nominated for an award.
"It especially means a lot for those of us intending to have our careers in the film industry."

"It's given me the push I need to start working hard at my skills as a filmmaker, and reminded me that my dream of being a director is not a distant idea, destined to stay as a dream, but a real goal I can achieve if I put in the work that's needed."
In Gwynedd, Clwb Ffilm Dyffryn Nantlle in Penygroes has been nominated in the Best Film (ages 5 to 11) category for their Welsh-language film Ynyr yr Ysbryd (Ynyr the Ghost).
Briall Rhys, Celt Ynyr Owen-Williams (both 10), Elai Rhys Hill (9) and Fflur Jones (10) created the story of an unhappy ghost with the help of mentor Hedydd Ioan over just three days.
Elai said she was "excited – making films is so much fun."
Fflur said: "Brilliant.
"It was fun to learn about acting and filming, and using the camera and sound equipment."
In Llandudno, Steve Swindon from TAPE Community Music and Film has been named a Filmmaking Champion for his work with students at Ysgol y Gogarth.

"Being a supporter for the realisation of their amazing ideas and boundless enthusiasm is a genuine privilege.
"I am committed to creative inclusion and encouraging new ways of working in order to give as many people as possible, the opportunity to have their ambitions and ideas heard and explored."

The Sun published footage early Tuesday from Pacha nightclub, which purportedly shows McGregor leaning down to speak to an unidentified man on the dance floor. Seconds later, the 36 year old seems to launch two punches. Following the incident, the man was seen hitting the ground, prompting witnesses to share their accounts of what transpired. One eyewitness told The Sun that it seemed there were no repercussions for the ex-dual-weight UFC titleholder. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," they reported to The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another recounted: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They continued: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club. ‌ "It was right before close anyway," they added. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." Since then, McGregor has shared that he was in Ibiza after treating his football teammates to a trip to the Spanish resort. The UFC star has been playing in an over 35's league with his local pub team and celebrated their recent league victory. "To celebrate winning the league I took the @blackforgeinn football squad away on holiday to Ibiza! All expenses paid, VIP's," McGregor posted on social media along with a selection of snaps and clips from their getaway. He elaborated: "LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, BABY! Reach out, link up, join a team! Get active! For the sake of your mental health you will thank yourself! #ibizapartyisland." Three years ago, McGregor stated talks took place with Dermot Desmond about his shares to provide financial backing for the Parkhead side.

Pinc List 2025: Wales' most influential LGBTQ+ people

It's been another brilliant year of progress for the LGBTQ+ community in Wales with more inclusive groups across the nation than ever before, while events celebrating pride continue to pop up even in Cymru's most remote villages. As with every year, with the support of Pride Cymru, we have worked hard to whittle down the many nominations for our annual Pinc List. The list, now in its tenth year, recognises the most influential LGBTQ+ people in Wales. This year, it includes our ones to watch - those newer to Wales or public life - as well as national treasures - the people who have, and continue, to make a huge difference often on a national or international stage. In sporting life, it recognises those who have worked tirelessly in the last year to bring the EuroGames, an international LGBTQ+ multi-sport event held annually, to Cardiff in 2027 as well as Cardiff's abundance of LGBTQ+ sports teams. More LGBTQ+ people than ever hold top positions in Wales, making a significant difference to the lives of Welsh people - including politicians, healthcare professionals and those who lobby in front - and behind - the scenes to make a difference. While celebrating all that has been done and the barriers which have stood in the way of LGBTQ+ people for so long coming down, we also acknowledge there is still so much work to do. This weekend the LGBTQ+ community, and their freedom to live their lives authentically, will be celebrated at Pride Cymru as thousands march through the capital. It is the 40th anniversary of the first Pride march in Wales and some of those there 40 years ago will lead the parade this year. It will be followed by a huge celebration of inclusivity in Bute Park, open to all. You can see all the details of the acts, tickets and the parade here.
