
Cape Breton police investigating motorcycle, vehicle crash in Sydney
Police in Cape Breton are investigating a collision between a motorcycle and vehicle in Sydney Tuesday.
Cape Breton Regional Police responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of Prince and Inglis streets around 5:45 p.m.
'A heavily damaged motorcycle and its driver were on the roadway and a Subaru car struck into a pole outside of the intersection,' reads a news release from the Cape Breton Regional Police.
The motorcycle driver was injured and was treated at the scene before being transported to Cape Breton Regional Hospital for treatment of what police say are non-life-threatening injuries.
The force says the Subarau driver was assessed and cleared.
Traffic Safety investigators continue to investigate and ask anyone with information about the collision to contact police at 902-563-5151 or Crime Stoppers.

A motorcyclist died and his teenage son was seriously injured on Saturday in a head-on collision with an SUV near Cornwall, Ont., Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said, making it the second fatal motorcycle collision in the region in as many days. Officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry detachment responded to reports of a serious collision on County Road 18 near Chapel Road around 4 p.m. A 47-year-old man from the village of Martintown, Ont., died and a 14-year-old boy who had been on the motorcycle was hospitalized with serious injuries, OPP said in a statement Sunday. The motorcycle riders were father and son, according to OPP spokesperson Bill Dickson, who said the boy's condition had been upgraded. "It was looking like life-threatening injuries initially but he remains in hospital in serious condition at this point," he said. The driver of the SUV was arrested. Their identity and that of the motorcycle riders was not disclosed. An investigation is ongoing with police appealing for witnesses. The incident occurred less than 24 hours after another fatal motorcycle collision about 50 kilometres west. On Friday night, a motorcyclist died after colliding with a parked all-terrain vehicle on a rural road southeast of Chesterville, Ont.

Annapolis County collision shuts down Highway 1 overnight: RCMP

RCMP posted about the crash in Cornwallis Park on social media around 1 a.m. Sunday. Police said Highway 1 was closed between Passchendaele St. and Broadway Ave. Police asked drivers to avoid the area. Shortly before 9 a.m., police said the highway had reopened. 1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash near Cornwall, Ont., OPP investigating

(Source: OPP Central Region) The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an SUV left one dead and another injured Saturday afternoon in the Cornwall area. Police say they received a call at around 4 p.m., reporting a serious collision on County Road 18 near Chapel Road. When crews arrived at the scene, they found that the motorcycle was carrying two people. Police identified the deceased as a 47-year-old man from Martintown, South Glengarry. A 14-year-old boy was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital where he remains. Police say the motorcycle was struck by the SUV, according to their investigation. The driver of the SUV was taken into custody. Police will release more information about the incident when available.
