
Qatar regrets deterioration of situation following bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities

DOHA (WAM)The State of Qatar expressed regret over the deterioration of the situation following the bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities, and is closely monitoring developments with deep concern in the aftermath of the recent attacks on the sisterly Islamic Republic of Iran targeting its nuclear sites.The State of Qatar emphasised the urgent need to halt all military operations and immediately return to dialogue and diplomatic channels to resolve outstanding issues.In a statement issued Sunday, and carried by Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the current dangerous tensions in the region could lead to catastrophic consequences for both the regional and international levels. It expressed hope that all parties will act with wisdom, exercise restraint, and avoid escalation which the peoples of the region, already burdened by conflicts and their tragic humanitarian consequences, cannot bear.
The Ministry also affirmed the State of Qatar's full support for all regional and international efforts aimed at resolving disputes and defusing crises through peaceful means, in order to promote peace and stability in the region.

US orders Lebanon evacuation amid regional tensions
The United States has ordered non-essential staff and families of diplomats to leave Lebanon, citing security concerns after Washington carried out strikes on Iranian nuclear sites. A statement posted by the US embassy in Beirut said the decision was made due to 'the volatile and unpredictable security situation in the region'. 'On June 22, 2025, the US Department of State ordered the departure of family members and non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Lebanon,' the embassy said. The US State Department has already classified Lebanon under its highest travel warning — 'do not travel' — urging American citizens to avoid the country entirely.
