Sophie Habboo's 'really bad' pregnancy craving prompts mums to share similar strange urges
Mothers-to-be have joined the former Made in Chelsea Star in confessing their strange food desires
Pregnancy cravings, often triggered by hormonal changes, are a common experience during pregnancy. For some mothers, cravings can be burdensome if they revolve around fatty or unhealthy foods.
For other parents-to-be, it can be a complete treat to chow down on their favourite meal for nine whole months. Celebrities get the insatiable urge for certain foods while awaiting their bundle of joy, too.
In the first episode of her rebranded podcast with husband Jamie Laing, former Made In Chelsea star Sophie Habboo, 30, revealed she has a "really bad" pregnancy craving for caviar.
The couple's podcast, which was formerly called NearlyWeds and then NewlyWeds, following their wedding in 2023, will now be called NearlyParents, in the lead-up to the birth of their first child.
In their debut episode, titled We're Having A Baby, Habboo and Laing, 36, shared the story of how and when they decided to try for a baby.

The couple also discussed the methods Habboo used to track her ovulation and the cravings she has experienced since becoming pregnant.
Laing said: "Sophie said, 'Oh, it's really annoying. I've got a really bad craving.'
"And I said, 'Well, what is the craving?' She said, 'Caviar.' So, we went to the store. We went. We found a caviar store, and we went in there, and there was caviar there. And I was like, 'Okay, we're surely not buying this.'
"The pot was £240, and I was like, that craving, has to stop there and then. And thank God, you came to your senses."
Habboo interjected hotly, though, insisting that she didn't come to her senses - she just googled caviar and found out she couldn't eat it while the countdown was on until baby Laing arrived.
"[Otherwise] I was going to give birth and then just be broke and never, ever be able to eat again," Sophie confessed, laughing.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), pregnant women should only eat fish, meat, poultry, and eggs that have been thoroughly cooked. Since caviar is often consumed raw, although there is no explicit guidance against eating it while pregnant, doing so is generally deemed not worth the risk.
The reality star's admission has moved other mums to share the urges their experiencing during this sacred time.
Taking to Mumsnet, one woman confessed: "I'm only seven weeks and I can't stop thinking about roast lamb and gravy. This is strange because not only has it been close to 30 degrees and definitely not the weather for a roast, but I've never been that fond of lamb. It's unfortunately a very difficult (and EXPENSIVE!) craving to fulfil."
Another scribed: "Oranges by the net full, and really cold milk by the pint. I wouldn't drink a pint of milk before or since if you paid me!"
A third threw a curveball, writing: "I've been chewing on sponges. Proper weird stuff."
A fourth explained: "Normally I can't get enough of onions but now I can't stand them. I bring them up immediately. I also can't stand the smell or taste of butter. Plain water makes me want to puke.
"I can only do simple foods and put ketchup with everything. So embarrassing as I love cooking and fine dining. But I just want fish finger/chicken nugget sandwiches with white bread and ketchup.
"And sweet yoghurts, rice pudding and cornflakes."

Made In Chelsea star pregnant as she shares sweet pic of blossoming bump
Made In Chelsea's Jessica Woodley is expecting her first baby with partner, Mark Logan, after claiming she was still battling 'trauma' from her stint on reality TV Made In Chelsea star, Jessica Woodley, is expecting her first baby with her partner, Mark Logan. The reality star, 30, broke the happy news on Instagram, telling fans that it was an honour" to become a mother in an adorable post. Taking to Instagram, Jessica, who shot to fame on the Channel 4 show in 2015 before she left in 2017 after having a relationship with co-star Jamie Laing, shared a snap of her blossoming baby bump. Captioning the photo, which was taken in the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland on a recent holiday, she wrote: "Motherhood, Thankyou for choosing me my sweet child. It is an honour to grow you. You are SO LOVED. You are my Guru now. Your daddy and I are waiting with open arms, Thankyou for blessing us with your grace." Jessica's baby news comes after she admitted she was still dealing with the 'trauma' of appearing on reality TV, which made her famous. In 2020, she branded her experience 'dangerous', adding that she regretted her decision to take part in MIC as she called for people to "cancel reality TV". She wrote: "A little personal note to anyone on here who may be following me from when I was on a reality TV show. I just want to express how dangerous the nature of mainstream reality TV is... "The effects it can have on a human being, to me, it felt like I made a decision at a very young age, resulting in what feels like identity theft. "Finding my way home has and is taking longer than I expected. I never imagined the repercussions of this choice of mine, but here I am faced with a dilemma and to me a trauma. "We all made mistakes in life this feels like mine if you are following me for the wrong reasons and support reality TV please unfollow me. "We need to come together and cancel reality TV. I really really encourage you to erase watching/ supporting these programmes." Announcing her decision to quit the show eight years ago, Jess said: "I'm not filming for it [the new season]. It's been fantastic and has given me the platform I've always wanted, but now I'm focusing on my fashion brand. "The door's always open, but I'm taking this time to focus on myself." Jess was one of MIC's main characters between 2015 and 2017, which saw her sandwiched in a love triangle with show lothario Alex Mytton and his then-girlfriend Nicola Hughes. The mum-to-be's former co-star, The Hills cast member Stephanie Pratt, later expanded on Jess' decision to quit the show, saying: "I think Made In Chelsea didn't make Jess happy. "She was definitely the type of person that had rage and regret, so it was harder when it [the show] would come out months later. She just wasn't happy on the show."

Vogue Williams nearly didn't marry 'sociopath' Spencer Matthews
A world without TV power couple Spencer Matthews and Vogue Williams is hard to imagine, but it was nearly a reality. While the pair might be loved up now, Vogue confessed she was initially put off her future husband and thought he was a 'sociopath'. The 39-year-old reality star has now been with Spencer, 36, for almost a decade and the couple share three children. They met in 2017 while starring on (short-lived) celebrity competition show The Jump, which Spencer won. Although Vogue had to pull out due to an injury, she had enough time to get to know the Made in Chelsea icon and crucially change her opinion of him. 'I kind of met him with a preconceived idea, and I was like, 'I'm not going to like him' because I thought he was a sociopath,' she told The Sun. Before he was Mr Ultra-marathon Man, Spencer had a wilder youth, becoming known for his infidelity and penchant for starting drama on MIC. He has since shared how he struggled with alcohol and steroid addictions, going sober and focusing on his health in recent years. Luckily, Vogue could see past her prejudice and 'loved his personality straight away'. She continued: 'He was so sound, but I was being really good at being single and I wanted to stay single, so I thought, 'He's going to be a really good friend' — that's the first thing I thought.' This isn't the first time Vogue has shared details of her first impressions of Spencer, with the couple very open about their life together. She previously told EVOKE: 'He kept ringing me after we'd done The Jump ad together and I was like 'this guy is so strange' – he hadn't grown on me yet! 'He'd call me and say he was out and about in Chelsea and I'd be like 'I live in East London, there's no way I'm travelling 45 minutes to hang out with you.' We were just really good pals for ages.' Despite platonic intentions, romance blossomed quickly and by June 2018, the pair were tying the knot. Spencer and Vogue have been a picture-perfect couple ever since however, in March, she was forced to address 'baseless and cruel' rumours that they had split. The presenter took to social media to hit back at claims that the pair were splitting up, sharing a montage of photos of herself with her husband. She wrote: 'It's with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up! 'I usually avoid addressing baseless and cruel rumours but this just keeps coming up. It's disappointing to see this narrative being pushed almost daily when it's absolutely not true and much more importantly, I don't want my children hearing these lies in the playground.' Vogue, who just released memoir Big Mouth, added: 'We're not sure what the angle is or where it's coming from but the whole thing feels very strange and mean.' More Trending A source told Metro: 'Spencer is fuming that Vogue had to issue a statement. He finds speculation about his marriage upsetting, especially as he's so protective of his children. 'They've had ups and downs like any relationship, Vogue has been open about this on her podcast and how things aren't easy with three young children. She's now reluctant to be so open about their marriage in public. 'They've been together through everything from Spencer's sobriety journey to parenthood and it's been difficult, but they're still more in love than ever.' Got a story?
