Seeb edge Al Amerat, Ahli Sidab thrash Salalah

The final stage of the 2025 Oman Hockey League continues on Tuesday with two decisive matches taking place at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat. In the first match, Salalah Club will face Seeb Club in a game between two teams aiming to reach the final. The second match will see Ahli Sidab Club clash with Al Amerat Club in a fierce battle for a place in the final.
The league concludes on Wednesday with the final match to determine the champion, alongside the third-place playoff.
Seeb defeated Al Amerat in an exciting second-round semifinal match with a close 3-2 victory. The first quarter was balanced with both teams exchanging attempts but failing to score.
Early in the second quarter, Seeb opened the scoring through Abdullah al Hasani from a penalty corner in the 17th minute. His teammate Imad al Hasani doubled the lead in the 29th minute, ending the quarter with Seeb leading 2-0.
In the third quarter, Al Amerat managed to pull one back when Osama Ramadan converted a penalty corner in the 41st minute. Despite both teams pushing hard, the score remained 2-1 in favor of Seeb at the end of the quarter. The intensity increased in the final quarter as Seeb extended their lead with a third goal by Fahad al Lawati from a penalty corner in the 45th minute. Al Amerat refused to give up, and Elias al Nofali scored their second goal from a penalty corner in the 53rd minute. Despite Al Amerat's efforts to equalise in the closing minutes, Seeb held on to their lead, securing a 3-2 victory.
AHLI SIDAB SINK SALALAH
In the second match, Ahli Sidab achieved a massive 8-1 victory over Salalah. Ahli Sidab started strong, with Shafi Talib scoring early in the third minute, capitalising on his team's relentless pressure, while Salalah relied on ineffective counter-attacks. Shafi Talib struck again in the 12th minute to make it 2-0 and Rashad al Fazari added a third in the 14th minute, ending the first quarter 3-0.
Salalah showed some improvement in the second quarter, but Ahli Sidab continued their dominance, with Waqas Saad scoring the fourth goal from a penalty corner in the 23rd minute, closing the quarter 4-0.
Ahli Sidab maintained their momentum in the third quarter, with Rashad al Fazari scoring his second goal from a penalty corner in the 34th minute. Two minutes later, Almas al Qasmi made it 6-0, ending the quarter with a commanding lead. In the final quarter, Maitham al Wahaibi added the seventh goal in the 52nd minute. Salalah managed to score their only goal a minute later through Hussain Hatim. However, Shafi Talib completed his hat-trick with his third goal in the 57th minute, sealing a big 8-1 victory for Ahli Sidab.

MUSCAT, June 20 In a glittering celebration of a successful sporting season, Seeb Club organised a special event to honour the club's top athletes and teams for their remarkable achievements during the 2024–2025 season. The event continued with the presentation of awards by the chief guest to the club's star performers and coaching staff. The 2024–2025 season witnessed a series of triumphs across multiple disciplines including senior football team as they were crowned champions of the Omantel League and winners of the prestigious OFA Cup. Volleyball team managed to dominate all the titles of the season as they registered triple titles including first division league, Ministry's Shield, and Super Cup. The first team of the Basketball achieved a domestic double as they secured both the league and the Ministry's Shield titles. The U-17 football team clinched the League Championship title and showcased the strength of Seeb's youth pipeline. Junior basketball team stars also captured the league title. Seeb Football Club Academy achieved remarkable success internationally as they snatched both the Oval Championship and the Manchester City Club title. The head coach of Seeb volleyball team, Jamal al Maamari, said that this event is a crucial event for the athletes in the club as all the sporting staff came under one roof in a glittering annual awards. ' Thanks to the board directors for this yearly event and it is a great motivation for the players to deliver more in the forthcoming seasons. Seeb club is one of the successful clubs in the Sultanate of Oman due to proper planning in all their sporting activities,' he said. ' We are working very hard to compete at Asian level in the next season as we dominated at the domestic level besides our achievements at the Arabian level. Muscat: Dhofar Municipality held a press conference in Salalah to unveil the details of Dhofar Khareef Season 2025, set to begin on June 21 and continue until September 20. Muscat: A coordination meeting was held today at Dhofar Municipality in the Wilayat of Salalah to review the mechanisms for implementing the media plan and preparations for covering the events of Khareef Dhofar 2025.
