King: Resolving disputes between countries and de-escalation must be pursued through diplomatic frameworks, dialogue, and negotiations. His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday affirmed that Jordan will not allow anyone to exploit the current regional developments to question the Kingdom's firm and consistent positions on the causes of the Arab nation. During a meeting he chaired at Al Husseiniya Palace with the heads of the three branches of government and security agency leaders, His Majesty underscored the importance of maintaining internal unity and reinforcing national spirit. The King directed all state institutions to work toward alleviating the negative effects of the current serious regional escalation, particularly in the economic sphere. His Majesty reiterated Jordan's call for intensifying international efforts to achieve a comprehensive de-escalation, stressing that resolving conflicts between countries and reducing tensions must occur within diplomatic frameworks, dialogue, and negotiations. The King once again emphasized that achieving lasting stability and peace in the region is not possible without resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict—the core conflict in the region. He renewed the call for stepped-up international efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, reduce tensions in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and pave the way for a political horizon toward a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, House of Representatives Speaker Ahmad Al-Safadi, President of the Judicial Council Mahmoud Al-Ababneh, and President of the Constitutional Court Mohammad Al-Ghazo. Iran's supreme leader asks Putin to do more after US strikes
Ammon News - Iran's supreme leader sent his foreign minister to Moscow on Monday to ask President Vladimir Putin for more help from Russia after the biggest U.S. military action against the Islamic Republic since the 1979 revolution over the weekend. While Putin has condemned the Israeli strikes, he has yet to comment on the U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear sites though he last week called for calm and offered Moscow's services as a mediator over the nuclear programme. A senior source told Reuters that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi was due to deliver a letter from Khamenei to Putin, seeking the latter's support. Iran has not been impressed with Russia's support so far, Iranian sources told Reuters, and the country wants Putin to do more to back it against Israel and the United States. The sources did not elaborate on what assistance Tehran wanted. The Kremlin said that Putin would receive Araqchi but did not say what would be discussed.
