At one point, doctors declared the actor clinically dead, unable to detect a pulse or blood pressure. In that moment, Mithun rushed to a temple of Goddess Kali and prayed fervently for his recovery.
We are talking about Amitabh Bachchan here. When he was seriously injured while shooting Coolie in 1983, Mithun slit his chest for his well being. Big B once wrote in his blog, 'A dedicated follower and one that has always been respected by the fraternity, his concern and love for all is legendary – slit his chest and took a pledge on his blood for my well being during my Coolie episode. How can one ever forget that'.
Bachchan was critically injured in the intestines while filming a fight scene in the 1983 film with co-star Puneet Issar which almost cost him his life.
Amitabh was a star by then and Mithun was in his struggling period. In the same blog, Big B recounted Mithun's loyalty for him on the sets of his film 1976 Do Anjane in which Mithun did a cameo. He wrote, 'During the shoot for Do Anjane at Calcutta he used to run around enthusiastically ready to carry my bags for me. I would desist from him doing this, but he went ahead and did it always'.

Delhi Chief Minister Launches Song Ahead Of International Yoga Day 2025
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday, a day before International Yoga Day, launched a song on yoga sung by music composer Amit Trivedi. Addressing a press conference, Ms Gupta said her ministerial colleagues and the BJP MLAs will participate in yoga activities on Saturday. "Official programmes will be held at 11 places. I will be participating in the Yoga programme in Sonia Vihar on Yamuna bank. There will be programmes at Thyagraj Stadium, Chhatrasal Stadium, Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Cricket ground in Dwarka Sector 6, among others," she said. Ms Gupta praised the song, saying its lyrics convey the feeling of a "Yogmay Dilli" and its video showcases the tourist places in the national capital. "There are some symbolic places associated with Delhi. Now, new tourist places have come up in Delhi. Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi, Kartavya Path, PM Sanghrahalaya, Baansera, Asita, Vasudev Ghat. The song depicts the iconic tourist places along with the new ones," she said. The BJP leader said that yoga is a "way of life" and stressed everyone should follow it. She said she is often asked whether she wants to make Delhi like London or Paris. "But I say I want to make Delhi like Delhi." Ms Gupta, in the conference, also criticised the previous Aam Aadmi Party dispensation, saying it never organised any Yoga Day events. "They used to see Prime Minister (Narendra) Modi's association with it and had a problem with Yoga Day. They never organised any event," she said.

PM Modi joins Tiranga yatra, holds roadshow in Bhubaneswar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a grand welcome here on Friday (June 20, 2025) after he landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here, before taking part in a Tiranga Yatra and a roadshow. The Tiranga Yatra and the roadshow were held simultaneously, as this was Mr. Modi's first visit to Odisha after 'Operation Sindoor'. As the PM's cavalcade made its way slowly through the streets, thousands lined up on both sides of the road from the airport to Janata Maidan. Cultural troupes showcased traditional folk arts, including performances of Bagha Nachha (tiger dance), Ghoda Nachha (horse dance), Ghumra music, cymbal-beating, and Kirtan, adding vibrant colour and rhythm to the celebrations.
