The Miami Dolphins missed a key opportunity to sign cornerback Jaire Alexander, who instead chose the Baltimore Ravens. Alexander, once set to earn $17.5 million with the Packers, agreed to a one-year, incentive-laden deal with Baltimore.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins continue to pursue a trade for veteran Jalen Ramsey, but no deal has been finalized as training camp approaches.

trade remains pending
The Miami Dolphins have been actively exploring trade options for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey throughout the offseason. While many expected a deal to happen soon after June 1, nothing has materialized yet. But according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, a trade is still likely before training camp begins.
'Jalen Ramsey will get traded,' Schefter said confidently. 'I would expect it before the start of training camp.'

In anticipation of Ramsey's departure, Miami reportedly had its sights set on a proven replacement—Jaire Alexander. The two-time Pro Bowler was recently released by the Green Bay Packers after refusing to restructure his contract. Though he was due to make $17.5 million in 2025, injuries and cap concerns forced Green Bay's hand.

Miami appeared to be a serious contender for Alexander's services. As per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins were one of the top teams he considered along with the Falcons. But ultimately, the Baltimore Ravens won the sweepstakes.
Alexander inked a one-year, $4 million deal with $2 million in play-time incentives, a far cry from his previous contract but one that gives him a chance to compete for a title. From a player's perspective, choosing Baltimore made sense—less money, but a stronger Super Bowl window.
The Dolphins, on the other hand, lost more than just a bidding war, they lost time. Alexander was their best shot at a seamless transition from Ramsey, a cornerstone of their defense. With that door now closed, they must scramble to fill a massive hole in their secondary.

From a front-office point of view, this is a missed opportunity. With Jalen Ramsey's trade now seeming inevitable and Jaire Alexander off the market, Miami's depth at cornerback is under serious pressure heading into training camp. Unless they act quickly, the Dolphins may find themselves exposed at one of the game's most critical positions.

IND vs ENG: Sourav Ganguly warns Shubman Gill - 'India won't get ...'
Shubman Gill and Sourav Ganguly (Agency Photos) Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has urged India to secure a victory in the first Test against England, following their commanding performance at the start of the match. India's first innings total reached 471 runs after being asked to bat, with centuries from Yashaswi Jaiswal, captain Shubman Gill, and Rishab Pant. Ganguly noted India's strong position at 359 for three on day one, suggesting potential for a larger total. "Nobody expects Headingley to be so dry. But what will happen is, if they get 600, it starts getting a bit up and down. India must win this. They won't get this opportunity again," Ganguly told PTI. The team selection saw both leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh excluded from the playing XI. Poll Will India secure a victory in the first Test against England? Yes, definitely No, England will win It will be a draw "Kuldeep will play slowly. It's a long series. I would have played Arsh. Because of a different angle (for being left-armer). But it's okay. They're good," Ganguly said, adding that Ravindra Jadeja will have to bowl well since he usually struggles away from home. England's bowling attack features Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue, and captain Ben Stokes, differing from their previous lineup that included James Anderson and Stuart Broad. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 오스템 임플란트 받아가세요 임플란터 더 알아보기 Undo "They bowl too short actually. Halfway through yesterday, they were bowling only short to Shubman Gill. But it's okay. They'll learn. It's just the first Test," said Ganguly. When asked about predicting a 3-1 series win for India, Ganguly responded, "It's too early to say." On Day Two, Jasprit Bumrah claimed the crucial wicket of Joe Root for 28 runs, while Ollie Pope remained unbeaten with a century. WV Raman backs Shubman Gill to fire in England: 'He needs the right support' England reached 209/3 at stumps, still trailing India by 262 runs. Pope scored 100 runs off 131 balls, including 13 boundaries, and was joined at the crease by Harry Brook, who was yet to score. Bumrah's dismissal of Root, caught at first slip, helped maintain India's advantage in the match. India's first innings concluded after losing seven wickets for 112 runs on Day Two, with centuries from Rishabh Pant (134), Shubman Gill (147), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (101) contributing to their substantial total.
