Oman: Iran-US talks will not be held tomorrow
Muscat – Saba:
Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Busaidi announced on Saturday that the round of talks scheduled to take place between Iran and the United States in the capital, Muscat, on Sunday will not be held.
In a post on the X platform, al-Busaidi said, "Diplomacy and dialogue remain the only path to achieving lasting peace in the region."
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said earlier today that "continuing indirect negotiations with the United States, in light of the brutal Zionist aggression, is no longer justified," accusing "the US administration of supporting the attack."
Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian accused the United States of a lack of seriousness in the negotiations process, stressing that "the coordination between the Zionist entity and Washington in carrying out the aggression, coinciding with talk of negotiations, constitutes clear evidence of the US administration's lack of sincerity."
Agence France-Presse (AFP) quoted a US official as saying, "The United States remains committed to holding talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program, despite Tehran's repeated refusal and ongoing tensions in the region."
