KINECTRICS Signs Contract with HIGHVOLT to Significantly Expand its High Voltage Cable Testing Capacity

Cision Canada05-06-2025

DRESDEN, Germany, June 5, 2025 /CNW/ - KINECTRICS announced today a significant expansion of its high-voltage (HV) cable field testing capabilities by establishing a contract with HIGHVOLT to purchase an additional 10 mobile resonant test systems (RTS). This multi-million-dollar investment made by KINECTRICS and its owner, BWXT, solidifies KINECTRICS as the largest independent global provider of on-site HV cable testing services. This strategic decision highlights KINECTRICS' commitment to support global energy transition stakeholders in derisking liabilities of newly installed subsea and underground transmission networks via field proven commissioning test methodologies spanning three decades.
The expansion of renewable energy construction projects is expected to quadruple the HV cables market, resulting in an increased need for reliable commissioning services. After cable laying and installation is complete, a critical activity to support a smooth transition from OEM to developer/owner is HV AC cable commissioning testing. This includes performing withstand testing and monitor withstand testing, according to IEC 60840, IEC 62067 and IEC 63026, which reliably identifies life-limiting laying and installation related defects, helping clients avoid costly in-service failures.
"With an expanded fleet of RTS units, KINECTRICS can proactively scale its capabilities to meet the growing global demands for reliable energy transmission by offering independent turnkey commissioning testing services for large scale projects", said David Harris, President and CEO of KINECTRICS. "Securing HIGHVOLT as our trusted supplier of field proven mobile HV test equipment plays a key role in our commitment to our clients and the industry in general."
"Since 1998, HIGHVOLT has been supplying high-voltage testing systems for on-site cable testing and has delivered over 160 of these specialized systems worldwide. KINECTRICS is one of our most important customers and has now placed the largest single order for this testing technology. This is another step forward in the energy transition." said Dr. Mario Jochim, Regional Sales Manager of HIGHVOLT.
Having reliable HV test equipment is only one part of the equation. Equally important is the accumulation of operational experience in executing complex field commissioning tests in challenging environments and interpreting the results, which our experts have been doing decades. KINECTRICS continues to lead the industry technically through advancements in diagnostic technologies, transaction and journal paper publications and active contributions in international standard bodies (IEC, CIGRE, IEEE). Our commitment to quality is achieved not only by investment in equipment and facilities but also by investment in our staff.
KINECTRICS, a division of BWXT Inc. (NYSE: BWXT), is the global leader in lifecycle management services for the electricity industry. With over 1,300 experts and independent facilities, we collaborate closely with customers to ensure that utility assets perform safely, reliably and efficiently throughout their entire lifecycle.

Is Enterprise Products Partners Stock a Buy Now?

Enterprise Products Partners (NYSE: EPD) operates in the most reliable segment of the energy industry. It is financially strong, has reliable cash flows, and a large yield. But there's one little problem that may cause investors to pause. Enterprise Products Partners' unit price has rallied roughly 60% over the past five years. Is it still worth buying this master limited partnership (MLP)? The answer is yes, and here's why. What does Enterprise Products Partners do? To simplify things a lot, Enterprise is a toll taker. It owns energy infrastructure, like pipelines, that move oil and natural gas around the world. It doesn't care all that much about the price of the commodities it is moving through its system. It cares that it moves as much volume as possible through its systems, collecting fees for every unit of product it moves. Oil and natural gas, and the products into which they get turned, are vital to modern life. So even when energy prices are weak and when economic activity is slow, demand for Enterprise's services tends to be fairly strong. The reliable cash flows it generates are used to support the MLP's lofty 6.8% distribution yield. That distribution has been increased every year for 26 consecutive years. Supporting that hefty yield is an investment grade balance sheet. Adding to the security of the payment is the fact that distributable cash flow covers the distribution 1.7 times over, leaving plenty of room for adversity before a distribution cut would be in the cards. There's just one small problem: Enterprise is a slow-growth business, and the stock has risen a huge 60% or so in just the past five years. But don't let that put you off. EPD data by YCharts Enterprise is still an attractive income investment The rise over the past five years comes after a deep decline during the economic shutdowns that were used to slow the spread of the coronavirus in 2020. That was likely an overreaction, noting that the world has quickly gotten used to living with COVID. That said, it is also important to remember the regular distribution increases that have taken place. The last time Enterprise's units were trading hands at the current levels, its yield was a far less generous 4% or so. Today, despite the energy business' unit price rally, the yield is 6.8% thanks to its reliable distribution increases. The rise in price not only represented a recovery from an unusual exogenous shock, but also the increase in the distribution. The key that has driven both of these facts is the slow and steady performance of Enterprise. It has continued to execute well as it builds out its business via modest capital investments, regular fee increases, and the occasional acquisition. All three are likely to continue in the future, as well. So the business continues to increase in value, which will be shared with unitholders via distribution increases, and likely reflected in the units by a continued upward bias in the price. Slow and reliable growth is what you get with Enterprise Enterprise Products Partners is not, and likely never will be, a particularly exciting investment. It is built from the ground up to be a boring high-yield investment. If that is what you are looking for, don't let the price rally deter you from buying this MLP today. The distribution growth that has taken place continues to make this high-yield investment worth buying even as the unit price has climbed higher. 10 Reasons to Buy and Hold This Semiconductor Stock Forever

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) is one of the most valuable companies in the world at a market cap of $1.1 trillion, but it doesn't get the same level of attention that other big tech stocks get like Nvidia or Microsoft do. Still, TSMC's competitive advantages can go toe to toe with any other stock, whether it's in the "Magnificent Seven" or not. On that note, let's take a look at 10 reasons to buy and hold this stock forever. 1. It has dominant market share TSMC is the clear leader in semiconductor manufacturing with roughly 67% market share, and an even higher share of advanced chips, estimated at roughly 90%. With that level of market share, TSMC has pricing power, and its customers have limited alternatives. The company has gained that market share over time, and it's unlikely to erode anytime soon. 2. Demand for semiconductors will continue to grow TSMC is in a great competitive position not just because of its dominant market share, but it's also benefiting from tremendous in its industry due to the growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology more broadly. That's a major reason why revenue jumped 42% in the first quarter, and future innovations should continue to drive chip demand. 3. It pioneered the contract foundry model TSMC dominates the chip foundry industry in part because it was the first company to employ the third-party foundry model when it was founded in 1987. Over the years, that model has prevailed over the traditional integrated model. 4. It has top-level customers TSMC's collection of customers helps show why the company is so dominant. Among its top customers are Apple, Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom, cutting-edge chip-design companies and some of the most innovative companies in technology. 5. It has a huge profit margins Profit margin is one of the clearest indicators of competitive advantage, and TSMC shines in that category. In the first quarter, the company reported an operating margin of 49%, showing it has pricing power and economies of scale. 6. It's getting government subsidies TSMC is not only a dominant company in its own right, but its services are in such high demand as semiconductors are crucial for the global economy. As part of the CHIPS Act, TSMC is receiving $6.6 billion in subsidies, and it's received $2 billion from the Chinese and Japanese governments in recent years. 7. It's historically undervalued Considering its growth rate and competitive advantage, TSMC has been historically undervalued, and that seems to be the case today as it trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 25, on par with the S&P 500. 8. It has a technological advantage TSMC dominates the market for advanced chips, which it considers to be 7 nanometers (nm) or under. Those chips made up 73% of the company's revenue in the first quarter, and chips for high-performance computing, much of which is used for AI. 9. Its competition is struggling The next two largest semiconductor manufacturers are Samsung and Intel and both of those companies have faltered of late. Samsung recently apologized to investors for not innovating enough and its poor performance. Intel, meanwhile, is in the midst of a yearslong crisis. Its stock price has tumbled as the company is struggling to grow and deliver a profit. 10. It has a great track record TSMC has outperformed the S&P 500 over virtually any time frame in its history. Over the last five years, the stock is up nearly 300% and 800% over the last decade. Past performance doesn't guarantee future returns in the stock market, but winners tend to keep winning, and TSMC looks poised to do that. Media Advisory - Simultaneous launch of Canadian space technologies Français

LONGUEUIL, QC, June 21, 2025 /CNW/ - Several technologies funded by the Canadian Space Agency under the Space Technology Development Program will be launched into space by SpaceX. These projects are a testament to Canada's leadership in space innovation. EarthDaily Analytics will use high-precision thermal imagers to monitor plant transpiration. The data collected could help farmers make decisions about irrigation, fertilization and crop rotation. It could also provide precise information about areas at greatest risk of wildfires, in order to protect our communities. INO provided infrared cameras as part of this project. Galaxia will launch its first satellite, MÖBIUS-1, a software-defined satellite designed to carry various types of Earth observation sensors. The MÖBIUS constellation could be used for a variety of applications, such as defence, environmental monitoring, agriculture, infrastructure, maritime operations and transportation. GHGSat will add two satellites to its commercial constellation, bringing the company's total to 13 methane detection satellites and one CO 2 detection satellite. Mission Control will test its onboard artificial intelligence (AI) software and machine learning operations system SpacefarerAI™ in partnership with Spire Global. Their Persistence mission aims to show how AI can analyze satellite images directly in space, thereby eliminating the need to send all data to Earth for processing. Xona Space Systems will test Pulsar, a demonstration satellite designed to validate a new generation of satellite navigation from low Earth orbit. This technology could improve precision and reliability of positioning services, including in urban areas, remote areas and the Arctic. Also contributing to the GHGSat and EarthDaily Analytics satellites are ABB 's business unit in Quebec, supplying sophisticated optical sensors, and Xiphos Systems, providing high-performance onboard processors. These innovations demonstrate the ability of Canadian companies to develop innovative technologies that meet the needs of the space program and have strong commercial potential. Media who wish to speak with a Canadian Space Agency expert or a representative from one of these Canadian companies are asked to contact the Media Relations Office.
