KUDAT: All newly-appointed members of the Kudat Municipal Board (LBK) are reminded to make the principles of good governance their primary guide in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Deputy Chief Minister II cum Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam said good governance is the foundation of an excellent work culture that should be instilled at every level of local government administration. 'The existing work culture must be based on the principles of good governance — accountability in carrying out entrusted duties, transparency in delivering and processing matters that involve decision-making and professionalism in providing services. 'These principles must be the core values upheld by all board members,' he said during the Swearing-in and Appointment Letter Presentation Ceremony for Kudat Municipal Board Members for the 2025-2027 term at the Grand Ballroom, Kudat Golf & Marina Resort, on Friday. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun said the case will be probed under the Sedition Act and Penal Code and referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers once completed. He confirmed no arrests have been made but noted that many tourists witnessed the act, which caused public concern near the busy Gaya Street Sunday Market. The protest was held with police approval and aimed to demand government accountability, anti-corruption reforms, and solutions to campus infrastructure problems. Khairul Firdaus calls for generational shift in Moyog leadership

PENAMPANG: GRS direct member Datuk Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan has urged a generational leadership shift in Sabah, particularly in Moyog, calling for new leaders with fresh ideas. He said Sabahans have been misled for too long and real change requires space for sincere, critical thinkers, during Moyog Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah AGM on Sunday. Khairul commended veteran Datuk John Ambrose for stepping aside to allow Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun to lead, describing it as a positive example of political renewal. 'Gagasan Rakyat not seeking dominance in GRS'

Speaking at the Darau Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) conference on Sunday, he emphasised that unity among component parties is essential for political stability in Sabah. Razali acknowledged grassroots support for him to contest in the upcoming state election but said the people's will must take precedence. He pledged to support any consensus candidate, regardless of party, if it ensures continued stability for the State.
