India's EV Future Gets a Boost as Tata Elxsi and Infineon Team Up
In a significant move to fast-track India's electric mobility ecosystem, Tata Elxsi and Infineon Technologies have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop application-ready electric vehicle (EV) systems tailored specifically for the Indian market.
The collaboration will focus on delivering ready-to-deploy solutions across various mobility segments, including two-wheelers (2W), three-wheelers (3W), passenger vehicles (PV), and commercial vehicles (CV). This comes at a time when EV sales in India have seen a 25–30% year-on-year growth, with electric 2W and 3W sales alone witnessing a 28% increase in 2024. Aimed at Rapid Electrification
As India pushes toward ambitious electrification targets, the Tata Elxsi–Infineon partnership aims to build cost-optimised, automotive-grade, and safety-compliant subsystems, while adhering to critical safety standards like ASIL-D compliance under ISO 26262.
Tata Elxsi will lead with its system design, integration, and validation capabilities, while Infineon brings early access to its cutting-edge semiconductor technologies, including silicon carbide (SiC) components, microcontrollers, and integrated circuits. Technological Scope of the Partnership
The partnership will work on core EV systems such as: High-voltage inverters for traction and auxiliary systems
Scalable battery management systems (BMS)
Bi-directional onboard chargers
High-voltage thermal management solutions
These solutions are designed to meet the needs of India's fast-evolving mobility landscape and may extend to sectors such as eVTOL, energy, and off-highway applications in the future.
Nambi Ganesh, Head of Automotive at Tata Elxsi, said:
'Currently, several of our EV solutions are already built on Infineon SoCs and components. This MoU further strengthens our partnership by giving us a clearer scope and tighter system-level alignment, enabling shorter turnaround times to address Indian market requirements.'
Kenneth Lim, Senior Vice President, Automotive, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, added:
'By combining Tata Elxsi's design and integration expertise with our advanced semiconductor solutions, we are not only enhancing the development of ready-to-deploy EV systems but also ensuring that they meet the highest safety and performance standards. This partnership aligns with India's electrification vision and contributes to a more sustainable future.'
This collaboration supports NITI Aayog's 2030 targets, which aim for 80% electrification of two- and three-wheelers and 70% electrification of commercial vehicles. The initiative is expected to significantly reduce time-to-market for OEMs and tier-1 suppliers, while fostering innovation and sustainability in the Indian EV sector.

Accenture guidance lift reinforces CLSA's bullish view on Indian IT; Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Persistent top picks
By News Desk Published on June 23, 2025, 08:31 IST CLSA has reiterated its positive outlook on Indian IT services, following Accenture's decision to raise its FY25 organic growth guidance to 3–4%, citing strong traction in Gen AI, cloud, and digital transformation services. The brokerage noted that Accenture's market share gains are being driven by the integration of Gen AI across its offerings, with cognitive solutions being actively developed for multiple global clients. This momentum, according to CLSA, has strengthened the booking pipeline and supports the upgraded guidance. CLSA also pointed out that BFSI growth remains resilient, a trend which mirrors the performance of Indian IT companies in the sector. Given these developments, the brokerage has reaffirmed its overweight (OW) stance on the Indian IT portfolio, excluding LTIMindtree. Among the top picks in the sector, CLSA has listed Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and Persistent Systems, viewing them as best positioned to benefit from the ongoing digital shift and AI-led enterprise transformation. Stocks to watch on brokerages today: Bharti Airtel, Polycab, Chola, SFBs in focus as RBI and Accenture updates drive sentiment
By News Desk Published on June 23, 2025, 08:25 IST Brokerages issued fresh insights across sectors on June 23, placing spotlight on financials, IT, telecom, and select FMCG names. Here's a look at the top commentary: Small Finance Banks (SFBs): RBI tweak seen as structural positive Morgan Stanley and Citi both highlighted the Reserve Bank of India's revision in Priority Sector Lending (PSL) norms for Small Finance Banks (SFBs), effective FY26. The central bank reduced the PSL target to 60% of Adjusted Net Bank Credit (ANBC) or Credit Equivalent of Off-Balance Sheet Exposure (CEOBE), whichever is higher. Morgan Stanley called the move a 'structural positive' that boosts long-term growth potential and portfolio flexibility. Citi noted this relaxation will help SFBs diversify and scale non-PSL portfolios, especially those less reliant on the microfinance segment. IT Sector: Accenture results prompt mixed read-through HSBC flagged Accenture's Q3FY25 slowdown as a modest negative read for Indian IT, citing a YoY 7% drop in deal wins and tighter full-year growth guidance of 6–7%. In contrast, CLSA maintained a constructive view, noting Accenture's market share gains in Gen AI, cloud, and digital. CLSA reiterated a bullish stance on Indian IT, with Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and Persistent Systems as top picks. Jefferies upbeat on Bharti Airtel, Chola, Kfin Tech, Polycab Bharti Airtel : Jefferies maintained a Buy rating with a target of ₹2,350 per share, citing a strong growth runway, low competition, and the potential for valuation rerating. Target retained at ₹1,800. Kfin Technologies : The brokerage expects 20% profit CAGR driven by synergies from the Assent acquisition, targeting global leadership in RTA-FA services. Target price is ₹1,460. Polycab India: With a Buy call and ₹7,150 TP, Jefferies noted strong execution—26% EPS CAGR expected over FY25–28, backed by robust order book and improving FMEG margins. UBS on Colgate: Buy maintained despite near-term softness UBS maintained a Buy on Colgate-Palmolive with a ₹3,000 target. The brokerage said cyclical weakness offers a good entry point, adding that the structural growth story remains intact with high single-digit potential. The stock currently trades at 39x FY27 PE. Nomura on autos: New ABS rule could dent 2W demand Nomura flagged the government's new rule mandating ABS for all two-wheelers could impact demand by 2–4%. A price hike of ₹3,000 is likely, potentially hurting sales for companies like Hero MotoCorp, which could be most affected.
