KITE, Navy Children School sign pact
The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), the technical arm of the General Education department, and Navy Children School (NCS), Kochi, a CBSE institution under the aegis of the Naval Education Society, have entered into an agreement whereby KITE will extend comprehensive support across key educational domains.
Under the partnership, cutting-edge AI and Robotics laboratories fully equipped with Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) tools will be established to foster an engaging and hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning environment for students. K. Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE, and Commodore Ben H. Berson, vice chairperson of NCS Kochi, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Monday.
KITE will spearhead capacity-building initiatives by conducting structured training programmes for teachers aimed at enhancing their proficiency in digital pedagogy, ISP integration, and innovative classroom practices. The initiative will also promote the effective use of smart classroom technologies to enrich the overall teaching-learning experience, according to a communication.
The partnership will see the introduction of KITE's acclaimed Little KITEs IT Club programme at NCS Kochi, fostering student-led innovation through hands-on projects in coding, robotics and artificial intelligence. Additionally, KITE will extend access to its vast digital resources, including the KITE VICTERS educational channel platform, enabling students to engage in content creation and showcase their projects to a wider audience.
'This national-level initiative reflects our commitment to democratising digital education,' a release issued here quoted Mr. Sadath as saying. 'We are not just providing technology, but building an ecosystem where Navy schoolchildren can thrive in the digital age, supported by infrastructure, training, and innovation platforms. KITE's multidimensional support perfectly aligns with our vision for 21st-century education, offering our students unparalleled exposure and opportunities in emerging technologies,' said Mr. Berson.

Satya Nadella's Microsoft Office banned in…, 30,000 workers, police officers, judges will switch to…
Microsoft Office is used in offices at the same time in schools and also for personal use worldwide. But now, some countries in Europe are trying to ban it from their government systems for several reasons. One of the important reasons is that they want to control their own data. In Germany, the state of Schleswig-Holstein has decided to stop using Microsoft Teams and other Microsoft software for government work, according to an AFP report. Around 30,000 workers including police officers and judges will switch to open-source software like LibreOffice (instead of Word) and Open-Xchange (instead of Outlook) in the next few months. The German government wants to keep its data safe and stored inside the country. 'We're done with Teams,' Dirk Schroedter, the state's digital minister, told AFP. He added that after the war in Ukraine countries realized they need to be more independent not just with energy, but also with technology. Denmark is also taking similar steps. The government has started replacing Microsoft Office with LibreOffice. Some big cities like Copenhagen have also initiated the switch. They have concerns like political issues with the United States can stop them from accessing important tools and data and stop their daily working within a fraction of seconds. There were media reports that Microsoft once blocked a top international prosecutor from using his email after political pressure from the U.S. But Microsoft had denied doing it on purpose, but this led to a move against Microsoft in some European countries. Another factor behind this move in money. In Copenhagen, the cost of Microsoft software went up by 72% in just five years. So switching to free, open-source can help these governments to save more money. But switching away from Microsoft is not very easy and experts say that it's not possible to fully replace Microsoft software.

Mavenir & Siris announce recapitalisation plan, secure $300 million in senior financing
US-based network infrastructure firm Mavenir along with its existing investor Siris , a private equity firm, on Monday announced a recapitalisation plan in agreement with Mavenir's lenders. Under the plan, the transaction will eliminate over $1.3 billion in existing debt and secure $300 million in new senior financing, along with a subordinated facility from Siris and participating lenders, according to a statement from Mavenir, which was shared exclusively with ETTelecom. With increased liquidity, a more stable capital structure and substantially reduced net leverage, Mavenir will be well-positioned for sustained growth and long-term success, the company said. With the funding, Mavenir will be well-positioned to build on its industry-leading position in the mobile core development space. Siris will maintain its controlling ownership position in Mavenir and remain an active partner as Mavenir advances its vision of a cloud-native, AI-enabled network. 'We have been spearheading cloud transformation in Core and Open RAN. With a strengthened balance sheet and lower leverage, we are doubling down on our software expertise and domain knowledge to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end, AI-native telco stack, setting Mavenir up for profitable growth in both Core and Open RAN,' said Pardeep Kohli , President and CEO of Mavenir. Mavenir will double down on its profitable core segment, a suite of software applications focused on voice, messaging, video and data services, while refining its Open RAN investments to prioritize software in 4G and 5G deployments. It will also maintain its Open RAN hardware IP and continue to support its existing customers to ensure maximum flexibility in the evolving Open RAN landscape. The firm said it will accelerate investment in AI capabilities across its mobile core and Open RAN businesses to drive autonomous networks, deliver AI-native solutions and unlock new revenue streams through AI-based solutions. This strategic focus aligns with Mavenir's vision of building the future of networks with cloud-native solutions that run on any cloud and will allow it to deliver more innovative products and programs to its global customer base while remaining at the forefront of the Open RAN ecosystem.

Best pharma stocks to buy today, 16 June, as recommended by expert Raja Venkatraman
The Indian pharmaceutical sector is experiencing significant growth and transformation, moving beyond generic drugs towards innovation and globalisation. With a robust run seen in this space lately and the strong surge in pharma names in the last few weeks, we are covering some names that are holding some promise. Here are three stocks to trade as recommended by Raja Venkatraman for Monday, 16 June Buy MAXHEALTH (Current price ₹1232.80) Buy BIOCON (Current price ₹355.40) Buy STAR (Current price ₹882.45) Also Read: The capital goods sector gets a power-up, its weight rises in Nifty Outlook for Trading Most of the sectors ended the week in red with Realty, FMCG and PSU Banks leading the way down. The Bank Nifty has not been so strong after the breakout and has actually met with some selling, thereby keeping the pressure on the Nifty too. Fortunately, there has been good activity form the IT index and it is seen heading towards its highs, and this has contributed to some gains in the Nifty as IT majors are well weighted on the main index too. The gap left on the move down on 13 June continues to remain and that keeps a lid on the bullish flag. From the chart above we can see that the trends are down into some strong supports yet again. The dips into the previous supports at 24500 remain an important value support region that can now be considered as an inflexion point going into the coming days. Looking at the Open Interest data, the Put writing at 24500 continued to hold on with the PCR just below 1 highlighting that the bullish camp has more work to do. Markets continued to see uncertainty with no clear global or domestic cues. As a result, we are now in the dark of the outcome of the trends in the coming week. We are likely to witness a volatile scenario in the coming week. Also Read: Escalating Israel-Iran conflict to keep markets on boil in near term IT sector leads from the front as the strong showing midcap IT stocks have been faring better than the leaders. The strong move seen in majority of the IT stocks clearly suggests that the upward traction we can look for some continued upward traction in the coming days. The strong charge above resistance zones around 37500 has clearly signalled a new wave in this index. Until these zones are given up, this index and its component stocks will be in demand. Overall, markets are pointing to a bullish setup, and this can help fuel more upside in this index. Since no signs of a let-up in the trends, we can continue to look for every opportunity to initiate long position. Raja Venkatraman is the co-founder of NeoTrader.
