Deal of the Day: JBL's Clip 5 speaker is back at its lowest price ever

NBC News04-06-2025

Ask anyone on team NBC Select about portable Bluetooth speakers and they're going to talk about the JBL Clip 5. It's one of the best and one of our favorites, thanks to its portability and unique design. It's 38% off right now, and only three cents shy of its lowest price ever. Deal of the day: JBL Clip 5 The JBL Clip 5 stands apart from other Bluetooth speakers because it has a built-in carabiner. That means you can easily attach it to almost anything — we've clipped it onto backpack straps, belt loops, shower curtain rods, kitchen cabinet handles, the list goes on. The Clip 5 has IP67 dust and waterproofing, meaning you can take it to the beach or the pool party without babying it. It can connect to multiple devices at once, and gets up to 12 hours of battery life. You can learn more in our JBL Clip 5 review. Want more from NBC Select? Shaughna took to her Instagram grid to show off her latest results, uploading a before and after comparison. On the left, she posed in a white bra and briefs prior to starting her fitness re-vamp, posting the words: "Day one" and "97kg." On the right-hand-side, she gave a glimpse at her current look with washboard abs and muscular thighs, wearing a similar lingerie set. She then posted the words: "Month 14," and "61 kg." In a more detailed caption, she joked about her choice of garments and wrote: "Let the record reflect, although I've dropped a few dress sizes, I will ALWAYS love a high waisted full brief." One fan was quick to remark on her weight loss achievement and wrote: "Well done." A second put: "Incredible!!!" as a third wrote: "Beautiful either way… what makes you happy." One then posted: "You look happy with your new body that's all that matters lovely." Shaughna then went on to promote her own Shred It weight loss and nutrition plan, and a current discount. The Love Island alum previously joked how she looked like a "rolled up ham" as she tried on outfits from her 2020 series. CLAP BACK Shaughna has repeatedly been accused of using fat loss jab Ozempic. She has spoken out numerous times after followers were quick to suggest she'd had a bit of help from the controversial medication. Hitting back at the haters previously, she wrote: "NO-zempic here guys! Just an incredible eating and exercise plan. "And it didn't happen that quickly either. It actually took me over a year to lose 5 and a half Stone. And I did NOT do it alone - I had great help. But not from any kind of weight loss injection or pill. "Sad that you can't lose weight naturally now without people saying that btw. "So I do understand why there are comments saying that and I would never knock anyone for taking them but it's just not how I've chosen to do this." Popular with many Hollywood stars, Ozempic is actually a treatment for type 2 diabetes. It increases the levels of incretins – a hormone – which helps your body to produce more insulin when needed and supresses the amount of glucose produced by the liver. The jab also suppresses users' appetite - mimicking a naturally occurring hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1, which is usually released after eating. As a result patients have less of an appetite, and reduce the number of calories they eat. She has opened up on using her own plan instead and continued: "The game changer for me was the nutrition plan. I get to eat MORE now – I often used to go all day without eating and then eat crap in the evenings. "Now I'm eating throughout the day. Also instead of doing an hour's workout and thinking that will fix my disordered eating – I just do short 12 minute workouts. "And yes I have loose skin - but who wouldn't after losing 5 and a half stone and giving birth to an 8lb 8 ounce baby! "But I'm fitter than I've ever been." 6 She found fame on Love Island's 2020 season Credit: Rex 6 She has now launched her own shred and nutrition plan Credit: PA

Samsung Galaxy SmartTag reduced from £35 to £13

Amazon is offering the Bluetooth tracker that's the 'perfect travel companion' Bluetooth trackers are a must-have travel companion, letting users keep an eye on exactly where their luggage, handbag and even their keys are. Amazon has slashed the price of the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2, offering a fabulous 62% discount in time for shoppers heading off on their summer holidays. The gadget usually costs £34.99 and can now be purchased from the online giant for £13.20. This is the cheapest price around, with the SmartTag2 costing £20.40 when bought directly from Samsung, while Argos is selling it for £23.99. The tracker can be popped inside a handbag or clipped on to a suitcase, allowing travellers to follow their belongings via the app. It's worth noting, however, that the gadget is only compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices. The SmartTag2 offers up to 500 days of battery, with the handy Power Saving mode extending its lifespan by up to 40%. The device is built to withstand dust and water, making it a robust travel companion. If travellers cannot find their belongings, the tracker's Search Nearby feature provides intuitive step-by-step instructions via Compass View. There's also the Ring Your Tag function that makes the gadget audibly signal its whereabouts to help locate it quickly. If the item still cannot be located, fear not, as the SmartTag2 has a convenient Lost Mode. When this is activated, the Near Field Communication displays its owner's registered contact information on the smartphone of whoever finds it. The Apple AirTag is a similar tracking device for iPhone users. Amazon is currently offering a single tracker on sale for £28, while a four-pack costs £92. Currys is selling the CHIPOLO Bluetooth Item Finder on sale for £11.99. This gadget is compatible with both iOS and Android smartphones. Over 7,300 Amazon shoppers have reviewed the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 to date, awarding it an overall score of 4.3 out of five. One impressed buyer wrote: "Outstanding simple piece of tech, effective and does exactly what it says on the tin… I use these on my keys, in my wallet and even in my car. Easy to locate using the app and an absolute lifesaver in the early morning panics of 'where are the keys?' "Helps add peace of mind for security and is very small to hide. Also helps locate where you left your car when parking. Overall, this is a fantastic piece of kit." Unfortunately one buyer was disappointed with the tracker, as they didn't realise it was only compatible with Samsung devices. They explained: "Never read anywhere this was only good for Galaxy phones. Unfortunately I bought it a few months ago in advance of a holiday, so I only just found it won't work with my Google Pixel phone even though it operates on Android." Someone else, however, is thrilled with the SmartTag2. They commented: "Perfect little tracker to keep an eye on belongings. I have one in my vehicle and also use one on my cat's collar. Battery life is also quite surprising. Location history etc. Fairly accurate, too."

Aldi launch new own-brand chicken wine in a box but be quick

The new Le Petit Poulet Rosé joins the range for £12.49, and it's available in stores from June 22. Building on last year's huge sales Aldi introduced Le Petit Poulet Rosé the supermarket has a 1.5L boxed version, offering double the wine. The Le Petit Poulet Rosé Boxed Wine has a larger, picnic-perfect format - but shoppers will have to be quick, because as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone. Last summer, the 'chicken wine' was popular on TikTok and Instagram. It's named after the chicken on its label. Delicately pale and bursting with citrus and red berry notes, Le Petit Poulet Rosé comes from sun-drenched vineyards of Provence at a price that's 19% cheaper than market leader La Vielle Ferme. Crisp, refreshing blush is ideal for creating the perfect aperitif moment whilst soaking up the sun. Sam Caporn, Mistress of Wine, says yes, and the cardboard box shouldn't put drinkers off: 'Historically, lower quality wines were packaged in boxed format, with the perception being that customers wanted higher volume at a low price - but that's no longer the case. 'Boxed wines have many advantages. For example, boxed wine can stay fresh for considerably longer than bottled. 'There is usually a price advantage too, as you're not paying for heavy or expensive glass. And lastly, boxed wine tastes no different to bottled.'
