
Surrey Highways warns of delays on M25 diversion route
Drivers have been asked to avoid areas in Surrey due to congestion caused by a partial closure of the M25.The stretch of motorway between junction 10, near Wisley, and junction 11, near Woking, has been shut in both directions until 06:00 GMT on Monday for improvement works.Traffic was queueing for about two miles on Saturday on the approach to both junctions and there were delays on the diversion route through Byfleet, West Byfleet, Woking and Ottershaw."Please avoid the area if you can, check for updates before leaving and leave plenty of time for your journeys," Surrey Highways said.
It is the latest in a series of closures between the two junctions as part of a severely delayed £317m project to add extra lanes.Work began in 2022 but was pushed back due to bad weather, National Highways previously said. It is now scheduled to end in spring 2026.The work this weekend involves demolishing a bridge at junction 10.The same stretch of road will be closed again from 21 to 24 March.

Severe M1 delays warning after 'damage incident' near Leicester
Motorists have been warned of severe delays on the southbound carriageway of the M1 near Highways said drivers faced delays of up to 90 minutes between junctions 21a, near Kirby Muxloe, and 21 at Fosse lanes of the motorway have been closed while National Highways staff assess what they described as an "infrastructure damage incident".There is about six miles of slow moving traffic, the organisation added, with congestion back to junction 22. Section of the A3 in Surrey to be closed over the weekend
A section of the A3 will close in both directions over the weekend as the £317m Wisley interchange upgrade continues in Surrey. National Highways has said the closure will be between the M25 Junction 10 and the Painshill Roundabout in Cobham, lasting from 21:00 BST on Friday until 06:00 on Monday. The works include installing an overhead road sign holder, drainage work in the central reservation and installing trenches for technology across all will be in place across the weekend. The same section of the A3 will be closed again from 4 to 7 July, say National works are part of a project to ease congestion on the A3 and the Wisley Interchange and are due for completion in 2026.

New bolts to be replaced on M62 Ouse Bridge in East Yorkshire
All new bolts fitted as part of work to repair the M62 Ouse Bridge are to be replaced as a "precautionary measure", National Highways has comes after two newly fitted joints on the bridge near Goole in East Yorkshire failed an started in March 2022 after eight damaged joints across both carriageways were found to need have endured more than two years of delays and restrictions. A National Highways spokesperson said "extensive investigations" had been carried out and it was in the process of repairing the damaged joints "as a matter of urgency".In a statement, it said: "The bolts securing the affected joints were found to have sheared. These have been replaced and the removed bolts are being tested to establish the cause."As a precautionary measure, we are going to replace all the bolts in each joint on the bridge."We will have two lanes open westbound [by the morning peak on Friday]. The hard shoulder and lane one will remain closed."There are no closures planned eastbound."
