Satish Jarkiholi says he is an aspirant for KPCC president's post
I am an aspirant for the post of KPCC president. But it is for the party high command to take a decision on the appointment. We are sure it will take a decision at the appropriate time, Minister Satish Jarkiholi said in Hukkeri on Friday. 'It is true that I am an aspirant. But then, the high command decides on such matters. It is natural. The senior leadership of the party will decide if there is a need for a change or when it is effected. It is their prerogative,' he told reporters. 'To a query on whether he was preparing for it, he said he was not putting any pressure on anyone, for this. We have to wait and see when the high command will do it,' he said. On the alleged viral video of MLA B.R. Patil regarding the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme scam, he said it needs to be investigated, before it could be responded to. 'The truth will come out from the investigation. I will not insist on any investigation. Let the department conduct the investigation on its own. That is their duty,' he said. He said he was in favour of dividing Belagavi district to create smaller districts. 'However, the State government will take a decision about it as per due process. There are some difficulties, but we are sure of addressing them,' he said. He also said there was were no differences between the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar over transfer of officers. 'All transfers are happening as per law. I do not think anyone is misusing powers in this issue,' he said in response to a question.
