Before she lit up screens in
Bandish Bandits
, and more recently in Boman Irani's directorial debut
Mehta Boys
,
Shreya Chaudhry
was simply someone chasing new horizons – quite literally. A self-confessed
travel enthusiast
, Shreya shares how her love for exploration has seamlessly blended with her acting journey, taking her from the deserts of
Rajasthan
to
film festivals
around the world.
'Festival travel has its own kind of magic,' says Shreya who visited the South Asian Film Festival in Chicago, and later the International Film Festival of India in Goa for Mehta Boys. 'The conversations, the films you stumble upon by chance — it's all part of the discovery,' she shares
'I wanted to be a pilot'
'I was just someone who loved to travel,' Shreya tells us, revealing she once even considered becoming a pilot. 'I actually wanted to be a pilot at one point. When my parents asked what I loved most, I said 'travel'. Travel reminds me who I am when work is over, and it helps me connect with myself. I've been to so many places, including Sikkim, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. I love acting, and I love travelling. And because of acting, I'm able to travel too,' she states.

'Rajasthan feels like a second home'
After filming two seasons of
Bandish Bandits
in Rajasthan, Shreya, who grew up in Mumbai, says Rajasthan feels like a second home. She says, 'During the first and second seasons, we stayed there for a long time, and Rajasthan just won my heart. Wahan pe hills bhi hain, sand dunes bhi hain, lakes bhi hain – it's got everything.'
During the shoot of the series, Shreya spent her days off exploring Jodhpur's narrow lanes, sampling
kachoris
and
malai ghewar
, or zip-lining across Mehrangarh Fort. 'I even made a spontaneous visit to a camel milk farm outside the city,' she recalls. For the show's second season, filming took her to Himachal Pradesh and Landour. 'We filmed scenes at a school in Sanawar and at the Gaiety Theatre in Shimla,' she says.

"Bollywood is not responsible for late or early bloomers": Boman Irani on success, failures of actors in Indian film industry

(Picture Courtesy: Facebook) Actor Boman Irani debuted in the film industry at the age of 44 and directed his first feature film, Mehta Boys, at 65. Widely regarded as one of the 'late bloomers' of the Indian film industry , the actor strongly opposed the general notion that the early or late success of Indian artists depends on the flow of opportunities in Bollywood. In an interview with ANI, Boman Irani said that the actors are responsible for their early and late success in Bollywood. He highlighted the importance of the craft and hard work of the actor for the "late or early bloom" in the film industry. "I don't think Bollywood is responsible for late bloomers. Bollywood, or the Indian film industry, is not responsible for late bloomers or early bloomers. It is up to the individual to be responsible for their bloom. You make your own luck, they say, right? I just tell people who come with dreams, sure, come with dreams. But, at the same time, come with craft," said Boman Irani. Boman Irani is popular not just for his impeccable comic timing but also for his impressive versatility as an actor, evident in the diverse roles he has portrayed -- from the authoritarian college director Virus in '3 Idiots' to the shrewd businessman Kishan Khurana in 'Khosla Ka Ghosla'. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Idols - Handmade Brass Statues for Home & Gifting Luxeartisanship Buy Now Undo Drawing inspiration from his life, the 'Munna Bhai' actor advices the young and upcoming artists to work on their craft to succeed in any field. He says that the "heartbreak" is inevitable for those artists who refuse to hone their acting skills and just focus on their "good looks" to achieve fame in the film industry. "Work on your craft. Don't say I want to become an actor. I tried a lot. I went to auditions, and I auditioned here and there. That you have to do. But what did you bring to the auditions? What training did you do? You went to drama school, and even if you didn't go, what did you do in self-training? Which pictures did you watch? Which acting books did you read? Which videos did you watch? How much have you rehearsed? If you don't rehearse, if you say, you look beautiful, I will get a job. That is, you will always be heartbroken. So, this is what I am saying, make your own luck. Don't expect Bollywood to do anything for you," said Boman Irani. Irani is popularly known for his films such as '3 Idiots', 'Lage Raho Munna Bhai', 'Munna Bhai MBBS', 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', 'Dunki' and many others. Meanwhile, Boman Irani will be next seen in the film 'Detective Sherdil' on Zee5, which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Diana Penty, Banita Sandhu, Ratna Pathak Shah and more. Irani will play the role of a businessman who gets murdered, prompting an investigation from actor Diljit Dosanjh. The movie is set to stream from June 20. He will also be seen in the film 'Tanvi The Great', which is directed by Anupam Kher and stars debutant Shubhangi Dutt in the lead role.

Netizens slam the makers for using Janvi Chheda's return to CID 2 as a gimmick for TRP; fans write 'fans ke emotions ke saath khelna bandh kariye'

CID , India's longest crime series, continues to captivate viewers with its second episode. CID Season 2 delivers top-notch entertainment with a blend of nostalgia, unexpected twists and turns, and other surprises! The latest episode of the show has taken the internet by storm, leaving fans with mixed feelings when Daya and Inspector Shreya reunited. A user wrote, "Absolutely loved Saturday's episode (49). But, honestly very disappointed with yesterday's episode (50). After waiting so long to see Shreya back, she was barely there for even 30 seconds. It felt like the makers just used her for TRP. @sonytv please bring her back properly." One of them added, " This cid 2 version is really very good. But if there's a blend of love story or else personal lives of cops with crime stories it will come out more good. As being a regular audience this is my suggestion. Because same kind of theme would bore today's audience. I am from 90's people from this generation want a unique blend of views." Another one wrote, "Can't understand why they're removing all the OG characters. Show kya yeh newbies chalayenge? Agr budget kam hai toh newbies ko nikalo. Daya, Abhijeet, ACP, Salunke, Tarika, Shreya, Purvi, Sachin and Pankhanj yeh loog hi kafi hai cid ko chalane ke liye." by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo One of them added, "Daya sir kya hum fans bhi samajh nhi paye ki makers konse nashe karke script likhte hai ek toh shreya mam ko permanently as a cop nhi laye aur special appearance pe bhi unko bas 2 hi mint dikhaye Trp ke nam pe fans ke emotions ke saath khelna bandh kariye @sonytvuk" A user also shared, "but also said for Dr. Salukhe as his character is being cut off from the show his absence in the show gives different vibe man." It will be interesting to see whether with the upcoming episodes Shreya aka Janvi will have a new track. Will she join CID back or just be a mere cameo to pull the story ahead.
