National Conference Holds Working Committee Meet, Passes Seven Resolutions
The National Conference Working Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of party president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, with all party leaders, including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in attendance. The party unanimously passed seven resolutions.
The resolutions included a reaffirmation of the special status and an appeal for sustained peace and dialogue between the two countries.
The meeting also observed a two-minute silence to pay tribute to the 26 civilians killed in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
Resolution one stated that condemnation of Violence and Tribute to Martyrs.

The Working Committee strongly condemned the horrific Baisaran attack that claimed the lives of 26 innocent individuals, including a young Kashmiri, Syed Adil Hussain Shah.
It also denounced the continued cross-border shelling that took the lives of 23 innocent civilians. The Committee expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with the bereaved families.
It also paid heartfelt tributes to the Working Committee members and party activists who have passed away since the last meeting, acknowledging their invaluable contributions and unwavering dedication.
Resolution 2: Reaffirmation of Commitment to Special Status
The Working Committee unanimously reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir's special status.
The Committee reiterated that this is central to the aspirations and dignity of the people and must be addressed without further delay and we will continue to fight for its restoration.
Resolution 3: Demand for Immediate Restoration of Statehood
The Working Committee also urged the Government of India to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir immediately, as promised on the floor of Parliament and repeatedly echoed in the public domain and also as committed by the constitution bench of the Supreme Court.
Resolution 4: Appeal for Sustained Peace and Dialogue.
The Committee welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire and called upon both the countries to uphold peace and explore long-lasting, peaceful solutions to end violence.
Resolution 5: Commitment to Manifesto Promises.
The Working Committee reiterated the party's unwavering commitment to the promises made in its manifesto. It reaffirmed its resolve to continue the political and constitutional struggle for justice, peace, and the rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through democratic means.
Resolution 6: The Working Committee appreciated the spontaneous and overwhelming support of the people of Jammu and Kashmir in unequivocally condemning the Baisaran attack in
Pahalgam. It also acknowledged the compassion and hospitality extended to tourists who found themselves stranded in the Valley during challenging circumstances.
The Committee called upon the Government of India to recognize and respect this powerful
expression of solidarity and not squander the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity extended by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
It further cautioned that arbitrary arrests, harassment of youth, targeted use of bulldozers, and intimidation of legitimate media voices will only alienate the very people who have stood firmly for peace and against violence.
Resolution 7: Condemnation of Targeted Harassment Across Country
The Working Committee expressed serious concern over the reports of harassment faced by students, traders, and residents from Jammu and Kashmir in various parts of the country. It strongly condemned their selective targeting in the aftermath of recent events.
The Committee called upon all state governments to ensure the safety, dignity, and protection of the lives and property of all people from Jammu and Kashmir living or working in other parts of India.

Will there be anything good after regime change,' he said. 'The person or country whom we had expected to intervene, themselves, joined the war. This is their second war -one they are already fighting-- Russia in Ukraine. This means this is moving towards Third World War,' he cautioned. Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti castigated Indian government's response to the strikes on Iran by US and Israel, while also lashing out at the neighbouring country for its advocacy of Nobel Peace Prize for Trump. 'The OIC, as expected, has once again limited its response to mere lip service in the wake of the attack on Iran. Meanwhile the country that rushed to recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize now finds itself with egg on its face after he attacked Iran. By launching this attack on Iran, Trump has dangerously escalated tensions plunging the region into a new wave of violence and edging the world closer to the brink of a global conflict,' Mufti said on X. 'Regrettably India long seen as a nation with a historic and principled role in international affairs is not only remaining silent but appears to be aligning itself with the aggressor,' she said.

Telangana Dy CM emphasizes boosting non-tax revenue
Hyderabad, June 22 (UN) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who chairs the Infrastructure and Capital Sub-Committee, directed officials to give focused attention to increasing the state's non-tax revenue and optimising budgetary allocations. He made these remarks during a high-level review meeting held at the Dr B R Ambedkar Secretariat, attended by Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, and senior officials. During the meeting, the Deputy CM emphasised that new welfare schemes worth Rs 33,600 crore are being implemented without halting existing schemes of the previous government. However, he pointed out that no revenue was received from Outer Ring Road or Excise during the 2023–24 financial year, highlighting the need to explore alternate revenue channels, especially non-tax sources and central funds. He instructed officials to rationalize departmental budgets, ensuring equitable distribution of funds. "Some departments are receiving more funds than needed, while others are underfunded. This imbalance must be corrected, and allocations should reflect actual needs and priorities," he stated. Bhatti Vikramarka also ordered the immediate completion of pending major infrastructure projects across all constituencies, stressing that rationalization and the completion of spillover works must be finalised within ten days. He underlined that revenue-generating sectors need special focus, and that all expenditures must be realistic, logical, and need-based. Calling on all departments to work with a public welfare mindset, the Deputy CM said that only balanced departmental development will ensure comprehensive growth for the state. The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, and senior officials from various departments, an official statement said on Sunday. 311 more Indian nationals return home, 1428 evacuated from war-hit Iran so far
The Indian government continues to bring back Indian nationals, including students stranded in the war-torn Iran, under the Operation Sindhu. The latest batch of 311 Indians arrived in the national capital via a special flight from Mashhad, even as the tensions escalated to a new high in the Middle East region following the bombing of key Iranian nuclear facilities by the US bomber planes. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal took to X on Sunday to share an update on India's evacuation drive from Iran under the Operation Sindhu, and also gave exact numbers of evacuees from the war-hit zone. 'Operation Sindhu continues. 311 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi on a special flight from Mashhad at 16:30 hrs on 22nd June. 1428 Indian nationals have now been evacuated from Iran,' said Randhir Jaiswal, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, in a tweet. Kashmiri students comprise a large portion of the contingent, being evacuated from the Gulf state. J&K Students Association also thanked the government for the sustained evacuation drive from the conflict-torn zone. 'The Mahan Air flight (W50071A) from Mashhad, Iran, carrying over 280 Indian students, including 200+ from Kashmir, has safely landed in Delhi. A moment of immense relief and joy for families who waited with anxious hearts,' said the J&K Students Association on X. It further said, 'We thank the Ministry of External Affairs, Government authorities and all those officials engaged in the operation for their swift response, tireless coordination, and support in ensuring the safe evacuation of our students from Mashhad, Iran. Your efforts brought our students home.' Meanwhile, the Indian government has taken up the task of evacuating the Nepalese and Sri Lankan nationals from the Gulf nation, being hit by Israeli and US strikes. The Embassy of India in Tehran announced on Saturday that citizens of Sri Lanka and Nepal would be evacuated by the Government of India, as per the requests from respective governments.
