As the youngest of four children, and the last teenager still living at home, I know for a fact there is an annual event my mum dreads more than anything else.
It's the 'End of GCSEs House Party', where clueless parents stupidly allow their 15 or 16-year-old Year 11 to invite a 'few' friends over to celebrate.

Sainsbury's shoppers race to store as major garden sale kicks off & items are scanning for just 1p

SHOPPERS are racing to their local Sainsbury's to see if they can bag some bargain garden buys. Avid gardeners took to social media to share the bargain deals they managed to pick up, with many items costing just 1p. 3 3 3 Emma Dowling shared her finds on Facebook and was quick to urge others to see if it was available in their local stores. The post saw the lucky shopper walk out with three trolleys full of garden must-haves and they were each just 1p in Sainsbury's massive garden sale. Emma wrote: "Just thought if anyone else was near a Sainsbury's all their summer plants & kids stuff is 1p!" The three trolleys were filled with plant growing kits, including tomatoes, cress, carrots flowers and seed packets. Many came with their own planters and they had all been slashed to 1p. While it might look like Emily whipped the shelves for herself, she revealed that she planned to donate them to her local school so plenty of kids could enjoy the fun. "Donating these to my daughter's school and some clubs," she added. And Emma wasn't alone when it came to picking up the bargain deals. Another shopper shared an image of her gardening haul and urged people to go to the store to find them. The gardening sale may not be available in every store, but for those prices, it's worth checking out. People were quick to take to the comments, impressed by the haul. One person wrote: "I'm glad you managed to get some!" "Need to check this out asap," penned a third. Meanwhile a fourth said: "Woohoo, nice to see they had sales. "They don't normally when I get there it's all gone. So well done you."

Marie Kondo was wrong — decluttering sparks no joy

I have really tried very hard to master the art of decluttering. The process of downsizing my possessions has been going on in a serious fashion for two years. I have been to the tip at least 50 times. Thousands of pounds worth of stuff has gone to charity including three sofas and (largest item) a super king bed. I have read many guides, including Marie Kondo and the less twee manual Nobody Wants Your Sh*t, to the point where I now need to declutter the books on decluttering. I have held up countless items, often looking worse for being seen in actual sunlight, and asked: 'Does this spark joy?' Almost none did. Instead, they sparked regrets (I'm no Piaf) and, at times, guilt.
