Shirley Manson 'doesn't care' if she is cancelled, Entertainment News
Shirley Manson "doesn't care" if she is cancelled, because she's had a "great career".
The Garbage frontwoman has never held back with her opinions, and while she would "feel guilty" that she has "messed s**t up" for the band if she was ostracised from society, the star would rather go through life being "true to who I am as a human being".
She told NME magazine: "If you cancel me, you cancel me. I've had a f***ing great career. I really don't f***ing care.
"If you cancel us, I'll feel guilty that I've messed s**t up for my band, but I'd much rather be true to who I am as a human being, how I was raised by a family I'm very proud of."
Garbage recently dropped their eighth studio album, Let All That We Imagine Be The Light, which features more tunes about love than Manson has ever penned before.
She said: "I've never really written about love very much. I always think it's been written about by people a thousand more talented than me.
"I'm just not a romantic person, really. After my mum died and then Veela [Manson's dog], I realised I had to touch love somewhere, somehow.
"I've got an amazing marriage and I love my husband so much, but I also realised that in order to move on through a different passage in my life I had to reach out to find all the different types of love: The world, nature, the ocean, friends, my bandmates, my family.
"I want to ignite that love. Like a torch when the world feels dark, I need to find all the hands that I can hold. My go-to is usually indignance, so I realised I had to come at things from a different perspective this time around or I would drown in my own negativity."
The 58-year-old star has hinted she might try to "get even better" at penning songs about love going forwards.
Asked about her future, she said: "Maybe I'll get even better at writing about love.
"How could I have not allowed this fire to run in parallel to the rest of my life? How could I have been so blind to it? How could I have wilfully not tuned into that force?"

A £12 peel-off lip stain I used for Ascot stayed put for ten hours
Head of beauty Zoe put Boots' viral lip liner stain to the test at Royal Ascot, and was left very impressed by the results... One beauty trend that I definitely think is here to stay is lip tinting. Gone are the days when you'd apply lipstick and have to spend the rest of the day touching it up in a mirror. We've entered an era of long-lasting tints that promise colour for hours on end, with no need to reapply. I was first introduced to them (a little late, admittedly) when I tuned into Love Island All Stars last year, when Elma Pazar was in the villa. I spotted her peeling off a lip formula and immediately needed to know what it was. As it turned out, it was Sacheu's now-viral STAY-N Lip Liner, £12. Stocked at Boots, this long-wear lip liner keeps your lips in line all day and night. Infused with hyaluronic acid and vitamin E for conditioning benefits, it also cares for your lips while it's working its magic. You could blend it slightly to get a full lip tint, but I like the way Elma applied it in the morning while she's doing the rest of her make-up before peeling it off ten minutes or so later to reveal perfectly lined lips that lasted her most of the day while she was lounging around the pool. I also spotted Elma applying it before bed so that her lips were lined with a kiss-proof colour before the lights go out. Anyway, consider me converted because I placed a Boots order as soon as I discovered it was this £12 buy she was using, and I've used it weekly ever since. I don't use it every day, because sometimes the setting and peeling off process feels like too much admin for me on a no-makeup day, but any time I want a lip look that will last me longer than an hour, I pull it out of my make-up bag. Case in point: this week, I needed a lip look to see me through a day at Royal Ascot. I knew the toilet queues would be long, so I wanted to make sure my lip colour was as low-maintenance as possible. I applied the shade P-inked at 9am before leaving, and amazingly, when I took a final selfie at 5pm, it was still in tact. You can actually see from my before and after how well the Stay-n Liner worked. I only used it on the borders of my lips as a liner, and used a regular lipstick to fill the centre of my pout. While the middle of my lips rubbed off relatively quickly, the tinted borders remained, dare I say, flawless. All-in-all, the tint lasted about ten hours before it began to fade. If you think you'll use the lip liner stain as often as I do, I seriously recommend taking a look at the pack of three bundle you can pick up from Amazon for £30. You save £6 off the price of buying them individually, and it means you have a choice of shades for all events this summer. If you're looking for another long-lasting stain option, our shopping writer Meghan also swears by Wonderskin's Wonderblading Lip Masque, £18 in a whole host of shades.

Lamine Yamal insists he did NOT try to meet adult film star, 29, after she threatened to leak voice messages from the Barca teenager - just days after he was spotted with a different model 12 years older than him
Lamine Yamal has denied he tried to meet up with an adult film star as debate emerged on who ensured a meeting between the 17-year-old and 29-year-old didn't take place. Barcelona star Yamal has burst onto the scene in recent months due to his staggering success at both club and international level, representing Barca and Spain respectively. In the off-season, the teenager has taken the time to enjoy some downtime - he is currently in Rio de Janeiro with 'idol' Neymar, having previously jetted off on holiday with another woman 12 years his senior. Now, though, just days after images of Yamal and OnlyFans model Fati Vazquez emerged, he has been drawn into a debate over a meeting with Claudia Bavel that never came to fruition. Yamal indirectly featured on Spanish TV show TardeAR, which saw producers air an off-air conversation with Yamal that saw him claim he didn't meet Bavel because he 'wasn't interested' in a discussion between the two. Alex Alvarez, meanwhile - a reporter on the show - alleged that there had been claims that Bavel's plan was to hire a photographer and sell images of a meet up, which Yamal said would have been impossible because he lives with his mother, who does not allow unfamiliar visitors. Bavel, though, has now spoken up herself, taking to social media to give her side of the story. The model, who was also present on TardeAR on Friday night, shared to her 259,000 followers: 'I chose not to speak publicly on this matter in 2025. However, since Lamine Yamal mentioned our alleged relationship on TardeAR, I find it appropriate to share my version with clarity and respect. 'He claims to live with his mother, but in reality lives alone. He says he rejected me, when he was the one who sought my contact and insisted on meeting. He denies we've met, despite crossing paths at several social events. 'I respectfully ask that offensive and defamatory messages stop. I have NEVER had any relationship with a minor, never arranged a meeting, and there was never any plan involving fame or money. 'The only thing we agree on is that no meeting or situation ever happened between us. Behind the headlines and public opinion, there are people. Out of respect, I ask for understanding and restraint.' Speaking on the show later that day, she added that they didn't meet because she didn't want to meet a minor. She also claimed to have voice notes of Yamal saying they could spend time together despite the age gap. She said she cut off contact with the star a long time ago, but alleged that she recently received a message from Yamal threatening her to not speak about their conversations. 'Ask her if you like,' Yamal had said. 'She'll probably pull out the excuse that "he's a minor", but we never met because I told her I wasn't interested.' Bavel - who was previously involved in a row with Real Madrid and Spain legend Iker Casillas - was appearing on the show on Friday night, after the original news was reported on Thursday. Vazquez (left) and Yamal (right) were both seen relaxing by the same pool on holiday in Italy The new controversy comes after photos were published of Yamal on holiday with Spanish flight attendant and social media influencer Fati Vazquez, who is 29 years old. Spanish magazine Lecturas published images of the pair on a jet ski together on the island of Pantelleria in the south of Sicily. It followed Yamal and Vazquez posting photos from the same location in recent days, with the pair enjoying a life of luxury that has included going on a boat trip, relaxing by a pool and flying in a helicopter. Lecturas wrote that the pair 'don't want to put a name to their obvious friendship', but said they 'get along perfectly'. 'Their closeness is such that they didn't hesitate to go on vacation at a key moment,; they added. 'They wanted to get away from it all and celebrate the season's many successes.' The report claimed there is a 'clear connection between them' and 'the age difference is not an obstacle to their understanding'. Yamal, however, has denied that they are a couple after speaking with gossip expert Javi de Hoyos. De Hoyos claims 'he's been able to speak to Yamal, and he categorically denies that he's with Vazquez; he says they have nothing going on. 'Lamine didn't go to this vacation spot alone, but with other Barca team-mates,' De Hoyos added. Vazquez has also spoken out about the backlash she has received, while stating she is 29 years old, after initially being reported as 30. The influencer said that she has received death threats following the photos of her with Yamal, while stating they are 'two people who want to have a good time'. 'I'm getting really p****d off, people are even wishing me dead because of it,' Vazquez told Spanish television show La familia de la tele. 'I'm receiving death threats and messages calling me a paedophile. 'First, I'm 29, I haven't made it to the thirties yet. I haven't done anything, haven't killed anyone. The reactions are just too heavy and it's even affecting him [Lamine]. 'I don't want to say anything more or make a big deal out of it or make it morbid, because I think it's completely unnecessary. 'We're just two people who want to have a good time, and that's it.' Vazquez shared another post on Instagram, responding to critics, of her in a swimming pool in Italy, with the caption: 'Imagine talking bad about me and I'm over here like this.'
