Talbi Weighs Options as Leipzig Step Up Pursuit

Morocco World17-05-2025

Morocco international Chemsdine Talbi is attracting renewed interest from RB Leipzig, with the Club Brugge winger emerging as a key target ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old, who chose to represent Morocco over his native Belgium, has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the Belgian side, making 44 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
His performances have sparked interest from clubs across Europe and the Middle East.
While earlier reports claimed Brugge were seeking €20m for Talbi, a spokesperson for his agency, YOU FIRST, has rejected that valuation, calling it inaccurate. But demand for the right winger remains strong, with Leipzig understood to be leading the race.
The German club are undergoing a squad rebuild following a disappointing season, and Talbi is seen as part of a new wave of attacking reinforcements.
Sources close to the player suggest he is open to the move.
Talbi, who was called up to Morocco's senior squad for their recent international camp last March, missed out on playing time due to injury but remains in the plans of national team coach Walid Regragui.
He is under contract with Club Brugge until June 2027, putting the Belgian side in a strong position during negotiations. Tags: Chemsdine TalbiClub BruggeLeipzigMorocco

Russo urged his players to 'believe in ourselves' and fight on. Bayern will again be without left-back Alphonso Davies due to long-term injury. Upamecano and Kim Min-jae are just back from injury and will be on the bench. Meanwhile, Boca will be without its key player Edinson Cavani, the club's top scorer in all competitions this season. Talents to watch are Bayern's Harry Kane, the German club's top scorer with 38 goals in all competitions, who will lead the front line with the young talent Michael Olise, who scored and assisted twice in their previous game For Boca, all eyes will be on striker Miguel Merentiel, who is the squad's top scorer in the league with 16 goals. Borussia Dortmund vs Fluminense FC: When, How to Watch & Score Prediction

Rabat – Another fiery match as part of the FIFA Club World Cup is taking place tonight, with Germany's Borussia Dortmund taking on Brazil's Fluminense in New Jersey. The 82,000-seat MetLife Stadium will host the showdown between two football powerhouses as part of Group F's long-awaited fixture. With two of the world's most passionate fan bases, Borussia's legendary Yellow Wall energy and Brazil's electrifying ultras promise a terrific atmosphere at the New York Jets home. Kick-off is set at 5 p.m. Morocco time (GMT +1), with the game streaming live on DAZN for free across the globe. Fluminense legend and head coach Renato Gaúcho is set to face a German side for the first time in the club's international history, marking a high-stakes clash in their opening round of the FIFA Club World Cup. Despite boasting a World Cup semi-finalist and European champion , Thiago Silva, Fluminense's defense remains relatively weak, showing major cracks. Still, they conceded fewer goals per match last season than Dortmund. Dortmund's relentless frontline, averaging 2 goals per game over the last year, poses a serious threat to the Brazilians' backline. With momentum on their side, Dortmund are widely expected to dominate their American debut. Borussia Dortmund's drop from nearly clinching the Bundesliga title in 2022-2023 to finishing fourth in the 2024/2025 season has raised major concerns at the club. With only 26 wins in 50 matches across all competitions and a heavy loss in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final against FC Barcelona, signs of decline are undeniable. In response, Dortmund appointed Niko Kovac as their new manager to spark a new era of major upgrades. While Jobe Bellingham will not start this afternoon, his arrival signals the club's intent to dominate the tournament. Football experts tip Borussia to top Group F, with South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns finishing second, leaving Fluminense's knockout hopes hanging by a thread. Predicted lineups: Both teams head into today's clash with injury concerns hanging over their starting elevens. Six regular starters are confirmed out, with three more doubtful, putting pressure on tactical adaptability. Topping Borussia's injury list are European champion Emre Can, alongside Nico Schlotterbeck, leaving Dortmund's defensive line noticeably vulnerable. Niko Kovac is then expected to start Gregor Kobel in goal in a 3-4-2-1 formation, alongside Niklas Süle, Waldemar Anton, and Ramy Bensebaini on the defensive line. Julian Ryerson, Marcel Sabitzer, Felix Nmecha, and Daniel Svensson will run the midfield. Julian Brandt and Karim Adeyemi on the wings, leaving Serhou Guirassy to lead the attack. Fluminense face a midfield crisis of their own, with five key players either sidelined or questionable for today's opener, leaving Renato Gaúcho with major setbacks and limited options The coach is then likely to start Fábio in goal, alongside Gabriel Fuentes, Juan Freytes, Thiago Silva, and Samuel Xavier in defense. Nonato, Matheus Martinelli, Kevin Serna, Ganso, and John Arias fill the team's gaps in midfield, with Everaldo leading their attack. Score prediction: Football analysts expect a strong start for the German giants with Borussia tipped to claim a 2-1 victory over its Brazilian counterpart. Both teams are likely to find the net, scoring at least two goals. MWN, however, forecasts a more dominant outcome with no goals from Fluminense, leaving the Brazilians with a 2-0 defeat. Bayern Munich v Auckland City: When, How to Watch & Score Prediction

Bayern Munich begin their Club World Cup campaign against Oceania champions Auckland City today, looking to add another trophy to their season's haul. Kick off is set at 5 p.m. Moroccan time (GMT+1), and fans can catch the action live on DAZN. The German champions arrive in Cincinnati off the back of a dominant Bundesliga season, finishing 13 points clear at the top. They are clear favourites against Auckland City, a semi-professional side whose entire squad is valued at under €5 million. This will be the first-ever competitive meeting between the two clubs. Bayern's Vincent Kompany will be without several key players, including Alphonso Davies (knee), Hiroki Ito (metatarsal), Kim Min-Jae (Achilles), and Tarek Buchmann (shoulder). However, Jamal Musiala and Dayot Upamecano are back in the squad and expected to feature, though on limited minutes as they return from injury. New signings Tom Bischof and Jonathan Tah are both registered and available for selection. Leroy Sané and Eric Dier have departed the club, joining Galatasaray and AS Monaco, respectively. Auckland City arrive in good health, with no reported injuries ahead of the tie. All eyes will be on forward Myer Bevan, who has five goals and three assists this season and will be key to any hopes of an upset. What to Expect Bayern will look to dominate possession and set the tone early. Despite the injury list, their depth and experience at this level should prove too much for the New Zealanders. MWN say: Bayern Munic 5-0 Auckland City Tags: Auckland CityBayern MunichClub World Cup
