Dua Lipa surprises fans as she covers pop classic 99 Luftballoons in ‘perfect' German
Dua Lipa proved that her infamous holidaying has paid off after she pulled off an impressive live stunt for her German fans during one of her latest shows.
For every one of the stops on her Radical Optimism Tour, Lipa has been performing a cover of a song tied to that location, with her covering tracks from the likes of Enrique Iglesias and Daft Punk.
When she was wowing crowds in Australia she performed a whole host of pop classics from Aussie faves like Kylie Minogue and INXS.
But she looking like she'd even impressed herself after coming to the end of her latest cover, a pitch-perfect cover of German pop banger 99 Luftballoons.
Videos of the moment have since gone viral on TikTok, with fans sharing their surprise at how well Lipa sung in German.
'I'm German and there wasn't a single pronunciation mistake,' remarked on fan on one of the viral TikTok videos of the moment from Lipa's sellout show.
'The German version is the best version, Dua Lipa knows!' commented a second, with another adding: 'No but that's actually so impressive'.
Lipa celebrated the end of her eight-show sold out run in Australia last month with a laid back relax at Coogee Beach. She made sure to find the time to enjoy the sights having been spotted days earlier at Tamarama Beach, and also at Taronga Zoo.
Her shows Down Under proved to be a major success for the singer, who made sure to invite some of her showbiz pals up on stage with her to entertain the crowds, including Troye Sivan and Vance Joy.
Sadly for fans, Lipa's hunky Hollywood actor boyfriend, Callum Masters, was nowhere to be seen while she dazzled fans. Instead, she has brought her younger brother Gijin along for the trip.
Lipa and Turner were first linked in January last year after the Houdini singer attended the premiere of the Apple TV+ show Masters of Air, in which Turner starred alongside Austin Butler and Barry Keoghan.

You must try the tiger prawn salad … It's got mango, avocado, macadamia nuts and prawns, in a bowl made of toasted flatbread. If that doesn't scream tropical island lunch, I don't know what does. LOCAL'S TIP An early local's tip today: getting up with the sun is worth it. These cool mornings make you feel a little more alive, and so does paddling out onto the ocean at sunrise on a stand-up paddleboard. Did you know the Fun Supply team hire out paddle boards from Windsurfers Corner on Tuesday and Saturday mornings? The perfect weekend morning: Paddle over to De La Plage for a coffee, or just hang out on the ocean for a couple of hours between 6.30 and about 8.30am, and then get a Gracie's Toastie and eat it at the newly painted Windsurfers Corner benches. Bliss.

'I've tried everything,' the singer, 37, said on Trisha Paytas' Just Trish podcast on Thursday, per Page Six. The Grammy winner explained however that she abandoned the semaglutide, which has not been approved for use for weight loss in Australia, early into her journey. 'Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full,' she said. 'But if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing.' Ozempic is also associated with a number of side-effects including most commonly gastrointestinal disorders like nausea, diarrhoea and vomiting, in a way that doctor-approved changes to diet and exercise are not. 'When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats, I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full,' she recalled. 'When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that [weren't] actually filling me up,' the songwriter continued. This means that the medicine has been evaluated by the TGA for its safety, quality and efficacy for that indication only.' Lizzo made headlines in September 2024 for hitting back at an Instagram hater questioning whether she was taking the type II diabetes drug. 'Whyyyy [sic] do u follow me?' she asked at the time. The following year, Lizzo explained that she had, instead, applied 'a calorie deficit' and cut 'sugary stuff' from her diet.
