Chargers G.M. Joe Hortiz: We'll see what we have at receiver before any potential addition
The Chargers brought Mike Williams back as a free agent this offseason and they drafted Tre Brown in the second round, but General Manager Joe Hortiz may not be done adding receivers to the roster ahead of the 2025 season.
Hortiz, who also drafted KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the fifth round, was a guest on Up & Adams this week and he was asked if the team was still looking to bolster the wideout group this offseason. He said that the team will go through rookie minicamp and organized team activities before making any decisions.
'I think we're going to see what we have out there this weekend and through OTAs, but I'd never say we're done adding anything,' Hortiz said. 'Any chance we can get — if we need the help, if we can help improve the team and the competitiveness of the team and competition at the position.'
Host Kay Adams brought up former Charger Keenan Allen being a free agent later in the appearance, but Hortiz didn't give any signal that there's interest in teaming him up with Williams once again.

Ranking all 14 opponents on Chargers 2025 schedule
We're just a few months away from the start of the 2025 NFL regular season. The schedules are all finalized, and the Chargers' is considered middle of the road in terms of difficulty. They have the 15th-easiest schedule, featuring a nice blend of tough and favorable opponents. Let's rank all of the Bolts' 14 opponents for the upcoming season from toughest to easiest. Kansas City Chiefs It's never easy facing Patrick Mahomes and company twice a year. Although they showed signs of regression last year, they still managed to reach the Super Bowl. As long as Mahomes is still the quarterback and Andy Reid is the head coach, Kansas City will remain a force to be reckoned with. The Chargers open the season with the Chiefs in Brazil. Philadelphia Eagles The defending Super Bowl champs could have been No. 1 here. They did lose some talent from last year's team, but it's still a loaded roster. The two will face off in Week 14 on Monday Night Football in Los Angeles. Washington Commanders Another NFC East team, the Commanders, are legitimate Super Bowl contenders this year. It's Year 2 for Jayden Daniels, who has already established himself as a superstar. They added some additional pieces and will be a good test for the Chargers in Week 5. Minnesota Vikings The Vikings' 2024 season ended in disappointing fashion, but they still have the core pieces in place to be very good once again this year. It all falls on rookie J.J. McCarthy and how quickly he catches up to game speed. Once again, the Chargers will play this game at home instead of facing them in a difficult environment in Minnesota. Houston Texans C.J. Stroud had a bit of a sophomore slump in 2024, but look for him to bounce back in a big way. The Texans ended the Chargers' season in a big way last year, so Los Angeles will be looking for some revenge in this late-season matchup. Denver Broncos The Chargers and Broncos always have good divisional battles. Los Angeles swept Denver in 2024, and these two sides are evenly matched again this year. They will face off in Week 3 and then again in Week 18 to end the season. Indianapolis Colts The Colts have a decent roster, but it all depends on the performance at the quarterback position. Anthony Richardson has been too inconsistent in his NFL career, and it may be his last year to show that he can be the guy. Jonathan Taylor remains one of the best tailbacks in the NFL, though. Miami Dolphins The Dolphins took a major step back in 2024, and this may be their last chance to make something of this core of players. Tyreek Hill still possesses intimidating speed, but he doesn't seem to be the complete product that he once was. Dallas Cowboys Was there a more disappointing team than the Cowboys in 2024? They were downright terrible, and if that happens again, they may go through a total rebuild. They acquired wideout George Pickens this offseason to form a lethal duo with superstar CeeDee Lamb. We'll see if that's enough to bring them back to relevance. Las Vegas Raiders In some ways, the AFC West rival could be an intriguing squad this year. Geno Smith is a significant upgrade at quarterback from what they've had in the past, but he still doesn't put them into playoff contention. They did add running back Ashton Jeanty in the draft, who had one of the best collegiate seasons ever in 2024. Pittsburgh Steelers Another year in which the Steelers have a question mark at quarterback. Their defense should be solid once again, per usual, but will Aaron Rodgers be enough for them to be above-average on offense? Time will tell, but it seems they are headed for another mediocre campaign. Jacksonville Jaguars The Jaguars fell off a cliff in 2024, but they added polarizing prospect Travis Hunter in the draft. They still have the talent to compete, but a lot of it falls on whether Trevor Lawrence can finally live up to the hype. New York Giants Who will the Giants' quarterback be when the two sides face off in Week 4? No one knows, as there are three legitimate options. Brian Daboll got to keep his job, but he will have to do a stellar job in 2025 in order to hold onto it again. Tennessee Titans By Week 9, rookie Cam Ward should be caught up to NFL game speed. The No. 1 overall pick has already earned rave reviews from the Titans coaching staff, and that will be an intriguing midseason matchup for the Chargers.

Rams WR Davante Adams could move up these all-time NFL lists
Los Angeles Rams receiver Davante Adams heads into his 12th NFL season as one of the best players at his position. He's caught 957 receptions for 11,844 yards and 103 touchdowns in 164 career games. Adams will undoubtable add to those totals in L.A. with Matthew Stafford as his quarterback, even with Puka Nacua alongside him. Sean McVay loves his receivers and Adams might be the best one he's ever coached. It would certainly explain the coach's aggressive pursuit of Adams this offseason. Heading into the 2025 season, Adams ranks 20th in receptions, 33rd in receiving yards and 10th in receiving touchdowns. If he reaches his season-long averages, Adams will move up in all three categories. How far, though, remains up to him and the Rams. Adams needs just 14 receptions to move into 19th place ahead of Brandon Marshall. That seems like a lock unless Adams gets injured very early in the season. Adams also needs just 43 to break 1,000 career receptions, which only 15 other receivers have done. If Adams reaches his 89-catch average, though, he could rise to as high as No. 12 — Andre Johnson. And if Adams sets a career-high mark of at least 123 receptions (which he last did in 2020), he could push to as high as No. 8 ahead of Terrell Owens' 1078 receptions. Three active players who could shake up where Adams lands at the end of the season in career receptions: Keenan Allen (No. 18, 974), DeAndre Hopkins (No. 16, 984) and Travis Kelce (No. 14, 1004). All three are ahead of Adams and only Allen isn't on a roster at the moment. Adams can make a big leap in the all-time receiving yards record book. His 11,844 yards rank No. 33 in NFL history, and if he breaks his 1,077-yard seasonal average for his career, Adams would move up to No. 22. However, he'd once again be contending with Hopkins, who sits at No. 21 at 12,965. The other two active players on the list (Kelce at No. 28 and Mike Evans at No. 24) are less than 1,000 yards ahead of him, but would need very poor seasons to drop. The final major stat Adams could move up on the all-time list is receiving touchdowns. His 103 ranks No. 10 in league history, but there isn't a lot of room for improvement on that spot in 2025. Evans sits two touchdowns ahead of Adams at No. 9 with 105, while Tony Gonzalez's 111 career scores is No. 8. Adams averages nine touchdowns per season, meaning the highest he could climb is No. 8 if he can outpace Evans by at least two touchdowns. Adams would need 13 scores to move to No. 7, ahead of Antonio Games. He's only done that once in his career (2020 with the Packers). There is a lot of opportunity for Adams to eat in his Rams offense. And while the ultimate goal is a Super Bowl, moving up some record books is a nice consolation prize for the legendary pass-catcher.

Former Steelers QB predicts one major condition that keeps T.J. Watt in Pittsburgh
Once a Steeler, always a Steeler — right? Former Steelers backup QB Charlie Batch had a different take on the matter in relation to T.J. Watt's future in the Steel City. On the Up & Adams show, Kay Adams asked Batch for his opinion on whether or not Watt will finish his career as a Pittsburgh Steeler — and he argued competing for a Super Bowl could decide it all: "That's tough to say, because I don't know how long he wants to play," Batch said. "Typically, you sign a four-year deal and then let's see what happens later on in his career. He needs to get closer to that Super Bowl, if not winning that Super Bowl, for him to be convinced that he wants to stay here. He wants to be a one-helmet guy — Cam Heyward showed him how that works. But, ultimately, the goal in Pittsburgh is not to win division titles — it's to win a Super Bowl. So, he's going to pay attention to how the roster is made up. … That's the business of football; when you look back, no matter how great you are, there's a strong chance the team that you start with, you're not going to finish with, right?" Year in and year out, as first-round playoff exits pile up, it's become more and more difficult to sell veteran players and free agent acquisitions on why they should take a pay cut to play for Pittsburgh — and Batch hit the nail on the head with Watt, who may be past the point of no return in regards to a hometown discount.
