Former Indian cricketer and Rewa Jaguars head coach Ishwar Pandey believes that right-arm seamer Jasprit Bumrah will play all five Test matches of the series against England in the ongoing tour.During the announcement of India's squad for the upcoming Test tour of England, chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed Bumrah was advised not to contest in consecutive Tests as part of his workload management . The precaution around Bumrah's usage stems from a stress reaction in the back during the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney in January.Speaking to about Bumrah, Ishwar Pandey said, "He has said that. But how his body reacts in the game. There are 5 test matches. There will be more workload. But I think he will play all the test matches. He has said that. But I think he will play all the test matches."Earlier on June 17, Bumrah said that before Rohit and Virat retired, he discussed his workload with the BCCI , considering his physical condition and the demands of a five-Test series. He consulted with his support team and surgeon, leading to a decision to manage his workload more strategically."Before Rohit and Virat retired, during the IPL, I had spoken to the BCCI. I had discussed my workloads going forward in a five-Test match series. I've spoken to the people who have managed my back, I've spoken to the surgeon as well, who's always spoken to me about how smart you have to be about the workloads. So I did speak to him and then we concluded that I have to be a little smarter," the fast bowler said while speaking on Sky Sports Cricket."But yeah, captaincy meant a lot. I had worked very hard for it. But unfortunately, sometimes you have to look after the bigger picture. I love cricket more than captaincy. So I want to contribute more as a cricketer and to the Indian team as a player. Ambitions are there, but that's how it is, but I called the BCCI and said I don't want to be looked at in a leadership role," the 31-year-old player added.Bumrah is currently participating in the ongoing Leeds Test at Headingley, which will take place from June 20 to 24.In his previous assignments in England, Bumrah boasted 37 scalps in nine appearances at 26.27 while maintaining an economy of 2.72 and striking at 57.8.

Tushar Raheja to Shivam Singh: Star TNNPL batters KKR should target for IPL 2026

In this collection of pictures, we will explore the list of star TNPL batters KKR could consider signing for IPL 2026. 2024 IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders had a difficult 2025 season following the loss of a key opener Phil Salt to RCB. Their weaknesses were best demonstrated in powerplay, where their openers averaged a miserable 26.5 per man individually and a meager 22.3 together the third-lowest opening partnership average of the league. KKR's skipper, Ajinkya Rahane was the only batter who amassed runs with intent and turned out to be the highest run-scorer for his side. He scored a total of 390 runs at an average of 3.45 with a strike rate of 147.73. His highest score was 61. There is no doubt that KKR are going to seek reinforcement at the top-order, exploring the Indian talent pool, and in this case, there is where these three super hitters in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) can come handy. In case you have been able to see a glimpse of the TNPL, then you must have heard of Tushar Raheja. The classy left-handed opener will be the perfect addition in the line-up of KKR style which is to attack in the powerplay. He is the top run-scorer in TNPL 2025 so far, with 298 races at a mind boggling average of 99.33 and a strike rate of 204.10. His six-hitting skills are never in doubt, though, and with 21 sixes and 29 fours in the contest, he has more boundaries as a hitter than any other TNPL 2025 batter. No batter has scored more runs in TNPL since 2023 than Shivam Singh. The ex-PBKS all rounder has been in a rampage in the tournament having scored 931 runs with an amazing average of 51.72. Imagine Ajinkya Rahane took a bold decision by playing as an opener for KKR, the team will require someone solid at No.3 and that is where Nidhish Rajagopal comes handy. The left hander deals well with pace and spin, which is highly necessary in a KKR team with a fire balling middle order. He has an adequate record against spinners, scoring 263 runs with 16 sixes since the 2023 TNPL, which is a good sign of dealing with spinners. The Salem-born hitter is only 25 so he brings youth to an already ageing KKR top order, providing the ideal calm yet effective balance in the batting arsenal.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Is Worst Fielder In Team India, Fans Cannot Keep Clam As India Opener Dropps 3 Catches

The Headingley Test between India and England saw a sublime mix of brilliance and blunders from the visitors. While Yashasvi Jaiswal celebrated his first Test century on English soil, his nightmare in the slip cordon sparked an online frenzy, leaving Indian fans furious and Jasprit Bumrah visibly frustrated. Yashasvi Jaiswal's elegant ton on Day 1 had fans and pundits hailing the young opener as a future great. But by Day 3, the narrative had turned sharply. In a horror fielding display, Jaiswal dropped three crucial catches—each one off Jasprit Bumrah's bowling—handing lifelines to England batters Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, and Harry Brook. The trio collectively added over 100 runs after their reprieves, swinging the momentum back in England's favour. This unwanted feat of three dropped catches in a single innings made Jaiswal the first Indian player to do so in five years, according to CricViz stats. Fans on X didn't hold back. "Sharam kar le Yashasvi!" trended across platforms, with users comparing his fielding to Monty Panesar's infamous bloopers. Fielding Failures Haunt India: A 5-Year Low India's overall fielding effort at Headingley was substandard. The team shelled six catching chances, their worst single-innings performance since 2019. What made matters worse was the fact that four of those came off Bumrah, who otherwise bowled a phenomenal spell—claiming 5/83 in 24.4 overs. Even usually safe hands like Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant joined the list of culprits. These lapses allowed England to post 465 and nearly erase India's first-innings advantage, finishing just six runs behind. Jasprit Bumrah: A Lone Warrior with a Big Heart If anyone emerged as India's saving grace, it was Jasprit Bumrah. On an unhelpful surface, Bumrah was relentless—removing Zak Crawley, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Josh Tongue with pace and precision. His spell not only rescued India from a potential collapse but also etched his name alongside Kapil Dev for most five-wicket hauls in overseas Tests by an Indian pacer (12). Despite the dropped catches, Bumrah remained remarkably composed. 'Nobody is dropping catches intentionally. They're all trying hard and are still learning. I don't want to put more pressure on them,' he said in the post-day press conference, displaying maturity and leadership. Fans Unforgiving, But Bumrah Extends Support While Jaiswal was roasted online, the Indian vice-captain chose empathy over emotion. Bumrah cited cold conditions and inexperience as possible reasons, urging critics to not judge harshly. His reaction won praise from legends like Sachin Tendulkar, who lauded the pacer for his resilience despite being 'denied a nine-wicket haul.' Even so, the missed opportunities have raised serious fielding concerns. Michael Vaughan, in commentary, remarked, 'India could've led by 150 if they'd held their catches.'
