Ahli Sidab, Al Amerat continue winning run in OHL
Muscat: Ahli Sidab Club continued their positive run in the Oman Hockey League after securing a 4-2 win over Salalah Club at the Hockey Oman Stadium in Al Amerat on Monday.
The game started with excitement right from the opening minutes, as Ahli Sidab capitalised on their first real opportunity to take the lead in the fourth minute through Ammar al Shoaibi, who successfully converted a penalty corner. However, Ahli Sidab's celebration was short-lived as Salalah responded quickly in the same minute with an equaliser by Eisa Adel, who took advantage of a defensive error to level the score.
Ahli Sidab regained control and dominated midfield, with Haitham al Wahaibi restoring the lead with a powerful strike in the 16th minute, ending the first quarter with a 2-1 advantage for Ahli Sidab.
In the second quarter, Ahli Sidab maintained their dominance and extended their lead with a third goal by Talal Mohammed Salem from another well-executed penalty corner in the 23rd minute. Salalah made some timid attempts to get back into the game, but the quarter ended with Ahli Sidab leading 3-1.
The third quarter saw clear dominance from Ahli Sidab, who kept pressing and added a fourth goal in the 32nd minute through Mehna al Hassani, ending the quarter with a 4-1 lead.

Al Amerat secured a big 5-1 victory over Al Nasr in another match at the Hockey Oman Stadium.
Ahmed al Nofali opened the scoring for Al Amerat in the seventh minute from a penalty corner, followed by Adnan al Husaini adding the second goal in the 12th minute, ending the first quarter with a 2-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Suleiman al Nofali extended the lead with a third goal in the 16th minute.
Al Amerat continued their dominance in the third quarter, with Osama Radhan scoring the fourth goal from a penalty corner, and Elyas al Nofali adding the fifth, closing the quarter at 5-0.
In the final quarter, Shahdi Salem scored Al Nasr's only goal from a penalty corner in the 56th minute, ending the match with a 5-1 victory for Al Amerat.
These results further solidify Ahli Sidab and Al Amerat share the top of the standings with nine points each, while Seeb and Salalah are tied in third place with 3 points each, and Al Nasr remain at the bottom with no points.

Muscat: A coordination meeting was held today at Dhofar Municipality in the Wilayat of Salalah to review the mechanisms for implementing the media plan and preparations for covering the events of Khareef Dhofar 2025. The meeting is part of ongoing collaboration between the Ministry of Information and relevant government entities to showcase the season and highlight the governorate's tourism potential both locally and internationally. The meeting was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harassi, Minister of Information, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, along with several other officials. MUSCAT, MAY 22 Ahli Sidab Club secured the 2025 Oman Hockey League title after a narrow 1-0 victory over Seeb Club in a thrilling final match at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat on Wednesday night. The match, attended by Azzan bin Qasim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, and Dr Marwan bin Juma al Juma, Chairman of the Oman Hockey Association, was filled with excitement and competitive spirit. The match began cautiously, with both teams sharing possession without creating real chances, ending the first quarter goalless. The second quarter followed a similar pattern with no goals scored. In the third quarter, Ahli Sidab's Rashad al Fazari broke the deadlock, converting a well-executed penalty corner into the only goal of the match. Despite Seeb's attempts to equalise, Ahli Sidab maintained their lead to end the quarter ahead. The final quarter saw increased pressure from Seeb, but Ahli Sidab's defence held firm until the final whistle, securing a well-earned championship title.
