Nani and Srinidhi Shetty's Hit: The Third Case (aka Hit 3) kicked off its theatrical run with an impressive opening. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, this third instalment in the popular HIT (Homicide Intervention Team) franchise has been pulling in steady numbers at the box office. While the film experienced a slight dip in collections on its first Sunday, it still raced past the coveted Rs 100 crore mark globally, a solid milestone for this crime-action thriller.
HIT 3 is hence the fourth-highest-grossing Telugu movie of 2025. On Monday, Nani's action-packed thriller HIT 3 added Rs 4.02 crore (nett) to its domestic earnings, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. This brings the India total to Rs 56.17 crore. However, the film saw its first dip into single-digit territory after opening strong with Rs 21 crore on Thursday, followed by consistent double-digit collections over the weekend— Rs10.5 crore, Rs 10.4 crore, and Rs 10.25 crore. While Sacnilk reports the film's global total at around Rs 82.6 crore, the makers announced a much higher figure – Rs 101 crore worldwide in just four days.
Interestingly, HIT 3 outperformed the first Monday collections of Nani's last three releases. While Dasara managed ₹3.65 crore, Hi Nanna brought in ₹2.35 crore, and Saripodhaa Sanivaaram collected ₹4 crore, HIT 3 led the pack with ₹4.02 crore. The film also maintained a decent overall occupancy rate of 24.01% in the Telugu market on Monday. Morning shows began on a quieter note with 17.20% occupancy, but numbers picked up by the afternoon (28.53%) and held steady through the evening (23.22%) and night (27.07%) shows.
Directed by Sailesh Kolanu and produced by Prashanti Tipirneni and Nani under Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions, HIT The Third Case stars Nani and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles. The action thriller also features Surya Srinivas, Rao Ramesh, Nepoleon, Komalee Prasad, and several others in pivotal roles.

In doing so, it edged past Raid 2, which was previously the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of the year. Ajay Devgn's crime thriller had garnered praise for its gripping storyline and intense performances, ending its run at Rs 173.26 crore. However, the sheer entertainment quotient and franchise value of Housefull 5 helped it go one step further. The only film ahead of Housefull 5 in 2025's box office race is Vicky Kaushal 's Chhaava which has earned over Rs 600 crore across languages this year.. With this success, Akshay Kumar also marks a major comeback after a string of underwhelming releases in the last two years. The Housefull franchise now boasts five consistent commercial hits, reinforcing its reputation as one of Bollywood's most bankable comedy series. On the second day, it minted Rs 20.2 crore which was a growth of around 88.79 percent. Meanwhile, the Sunday number were even better as the film garnered Rs 27.25 crore. It's natural that the film will see some drop in numbers on Monday as it's a weekday. However, the early numbers till afternoon seem decent. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' made Rs 1.51 crore till Monday afternoon and the film's total collection so far now stands at Rs 59.66 crore. How it fares on Monday and all through the week will play an important role in knowing the film's fate at the box office. But looks like the film has now caught on really well with positive word of mouth and there's no looking back. It is doing better in multiplexes than single screens though which is expected from an Aamir movie and especially a film of this sort. The good part is the that on day 1, the number came from bookings made for school, bulk bookings and discounted rates. But the growth on the weekend was quite encouraging due to word of mouth and positive reviews.
