Supercross 2025 results: 450 highlights, finishing order, reaction at Daytona, Ken Roczen is sixth winner
Ken Roczen moved determinedly from fourth to the lead in the first half of Round 8 of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross season and then held off a challenge by Cooper Webb to become the sixth winner of the year at Daytona Beach, Florida, and tie the record for the most wins during a season.
Roczen was as surprised as the fans.
The win was special because everyone wants to win a race at the famed Daytona International Speedway, but Roczen said during the post-race news conference that all his wins are special now that they are coming with less frequency. Roczen had a solid start to his season with four second-place finishes and a third in the first seven rounds, but one thing was missing: He finally was the 'W'.
Webb was one of the favorites coming into Daytona because of the four second-place finishes and six podiums he's scored in seven attempts. Webb is accustomed to being the one applying pressure, but the possibility of finally winning this race forced him into making several mistakes that could not be overcome. Finishing three positions ahead of his principal rival, Chase Sexton, padded his points lead, so Webb was content.
Aaron Plessinger would like to think he has put the early season behind him now that he has his first podium of the year. Plessinger led Daytona from Laps 4 through 7 but got pushed back as far at fourth while his teammate Sexton and Webb battled their way to the front. He kept contact with the top three and moved into that position on Lap 14. This was not only his first podium but the first top-five of 2025.
Known in 2025 for his starts, Justin Cooper did not get out of the Daytona gate quickly. He completed Lap 1 in ninth and methodically worked his way into the top five by Lap 8 of 16. One more pass in the final laps placed him fourth on the chart.

Sexton would like to forget the last two weeks. He crashed late in Arlington as he attempted a sketchy pass on a lapped rider. Daytona was worse. Sexton crashed hard during his heat race and failed to finish with minor injuries and a damaged bike. He won the Last Chance Qualifier and had one of the worst gate picks for the feature. Sexton completed Lap 1 in eight, caught Webb midway through the race and was in third by Lap 10.
The effects of his crash started to take a toll soon after and he faded to fifth in the final rundown. Sexton now has a 10-point deficit to Webb as the series hits the halfway point.
We have been following Kevin Moranz for the past two weeks, and he made that worthwhile by qualifying directly into the feature with a seventh-place finish in his heat. Moranz finished 21st but earned points for the fifth time in eight rounds. He stands 25th in the standings.

Wilmer Flores delivered the big swing that saved the San Francisco Giants from a sweep at the Cleveland Guardians' hands and Logan Webb from an undeserved loss. Webb's nine strikeouts give him 114 this year, which lofts him into a tie with Atlanta's Chris Sale for second most in the National League. He lowered his ERA to 2.49, and is seemingly in good position to represent the Giants as an All-Star.

Vélocity Ride: Meet the inspirational teams members behind this year's event
Vélocity 2025 Ride for Seniors, run by Caledon Community Services (CCS), set out into the community on Saturday. More than 176 riders, 56 volunteers, and numerous supporters celebrated the occasion this weekend. After riders took off for their routes from 8 to 10:30 a.m., they all met back at Caledon East Park to celebrate their rides and the milestones they had achieved. At the time of this article, Vélocity raised almost $53,000 of its $70,000 fundraising goal. Every dollar raised goes towards helping Caledon seniors stay healthy, active, and independent. CCS CEO Geraldine Aguiar, spoke on this year's theme for the ride. 'CCS has been a champion for the community. But we couldn't be a champion for the community without each and every one of you. All of us here play a part. And today, our theme is Together We Can, and together is exactly how we're going to make a difference in this community,' said Aguiar. Awards and prizes were presented to recognize individual members' and teams' hard work and effort. Team Silcotech was the largest team this year and one of the top sponsors. Isolde Boettger and Michael Maloney announced during the celebrations that Silcotech will no longer be ONE of the top sponsors next year, but THE top sponsor of the 2026 Vélocity ride. Boettger also shared that this year, Silcotech purchased all of the bikes for their team so that everyone could take part. They will go on to store the bikes so that people can borrow them, go out on their own, and have them available for next year's event. As the event fell on Father's Day weekend, Vélocity honoured all the family teams participating. Mortons in Motion is a family team that raised almost $3,000. Gordon, Elizabeth, and David Morton have participated in the Vélocity ride for the past few years. They all biked the trail route together, enjoying the beautiful weather and the time well spent together. David, Gordon and Elizabeth's son, flies down to take part in the ride with them, as well. He shared that it's also the perfect time to spend some time with his dad for Father's Day. They have been cycling together for about 12 years now. 'I see the important work that CCS does for seniors so it's a way to support what I think is important and do what we all like doing,' shared Gordon Morton. To no surprise, one man who held the most titles this year was Ted Webb from Ted's Terra Cotta Trailblazers. Webb has carried the title for multiple years and has no plans to stop. 'If you want to live to my age, keep cycling, ' Webb said to the Vélocity crowd. Webb shared that he's been cycling as long as he can remember; growing up in England, it was often the way to get around. But, like a trail route, Webb faced many twists, turns, and rough terrain to get to where he is today. In 1939, Webb was part of the mass evacuation out of London, where Germany was invading. He moved around to multiple different places and ended up in the forces. Here, he met Canadian soldiers, and Webb said they were friendly, fun-loving people. 'And I said, look, you know what? If everybody's like that in Canada, I'm going. Two years later, I immigrated and now I'm here. No regrets.' Now, Webb lives in Terra Cotta, surrounded by his family and neighbours, and now his teammates for Vélocity. 'I wouldn't be here if it wasn't cycling. I wouldn't have met my good friends that I've had for years through cycling,' shared Webb. At 92 years old, he isn't slowing down; he plans to cycle 5,000 km this year. 'That's what I'm trying to say about cycling. It's goals,' said Webb. 'I've got goals to achieve.' And Vélocity will continue trying to reach its goal of $70,000 through their website until June 30. Bullpen games have provided quite a relief for the Texas Rangers with a pair of non-starter wins
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Those bullpen games have been quite a relief for the Texas Rangers. With Nathan Eovaldi still on the injured list with right elbow inflammation and Tyler Mahle now dealing with shoulder stiffness, the Rangers twice in the past week have gone with bullpen games — using only relievers for the first two times this season, and winning both. Texas could have another one Sunday in the series finale against the Chicago White Sox. The first pitcher in each of those victories hasn't allowed a hit through the first three innings, with Shawn Armstrong perfect in his three innings to open the 3-1 win over the White Sox on Friday night. Jacob Webb (4-3) has been the second pitcher both times, and he got wins with scoreless outings since the starter didn't go the required five innings to get credited with a victory. Robert Garcia finished off both for saves, and he was the seventh pitcher used against Chicago. 'Our bullpen ... it's just next man-up kind of mentality down there. And it's going well,' Webb said Saturday before two-time Cy Young Award winner Jacob deGrom's start on an extra day of rest. 'It's just perseverance and knowing what we have to do down there. ... We're playing some good baseball right now and that's what matters.' While deGrom's regular turn in the rotation would have been Friday, the Rangers moved him back to avoid the possibility of back-to-back bullpen games this weekend. Mahle's normal slot would be Sunday, but with the team off Monday that would give the right-hander two extra days, if he doesn't end up on the injured list before then. Kumar Rocker (1-4, 8.87 ERA in six starts), who was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock on June 5 and can't return yet to the major league roster unless it is to replace an injured player, was in the Rangers clubhouse on Saturday. When asked about Rocker's presence, manager Bruce Bochy responded, 'We may need a start.' Bochy didn't elaborate or say who would start Sunday. Jacob Latz started the first bullpen game at Washington last Sunday, when he didn't give up a hit until the fourth while striking out seven with 60 pitches over 3 1/3 innings. Webb then threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings, followed by Hoby Milner, Armstrong and Garcia in a 4-2 win. Armstrong retired all nine batters he faced Friday with five strikeouts, including his last four White Sox batters. Webb then took over for two scoreless innings, before Luke Jackson, Milner, Chris Martin, Cole Winn and Garcia. 'Everybody's willing to do whatever it takes for this team to win, so it's a pretty special group to be part of. ... Nobody's saying no to any role. When their name is called, they're getting the ball and they're getting the job done,' catcher Jonah Heim said. "The starters pick up the bullpen sometimes and the bullpen picks up starters. So that's kind of the environment we want to be in, is everybody's picking up everybody and trying to win games.' Bullpen games aren't something Bochy has done often. The Rangers were 1-6 when starting a reliever in each of the past two seasons, and now are 2-0 this year. Bochy said his relievers have done a good job all season, even with guys being moved to different roles. 'They don't care how it gets done," Bochy said. 'Just that it gets done and they're doing what they can to help win a ball game.' ___
