A former sub-inspector from the Pakistan Police ranks was among the masterminds of a cross-border espionage racket, which various Indians have been found to be a part of.
Punjab YouTuber Jasbir Singh, who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly spying for Pakistan, disclosed during interrogation that the former cop Nasir Dhillon had introduced him to Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) officials in Lahore. He had also arranged Jasbir Singh's meeting with ISI operative Danish in Pakistan.
Nasir Dhillon, who is now a YouTuber, used to connect Indian social media personalities with ISI operative Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman, who worked as a visa officer in the Pakistani embassy in Delhi. Danish was expelled from India in May, after travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra was exposed for spying for the country with whom ties have plummeted since the April 22 Pahalgam attack and May 7 Operation Sindoor strikes.
Both Jasbir Singh and Nasir Dhillon know Jyoti Malhotra, who runs the travel YouTube account 'Travel With Jo', and was among the first of spies in the alleged Islamabad-run espionage ring to be arrested.
Further, police have found that Danish used to call the spies as guests to the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi and assign tasks.
Security agencies also suspect that hundreds of former police personnel of Pakistan Police are part of the espionage racket, which targets Indian YouTubers.
Jasbir Singh, who runs a YouTube channel named 'JaanMahal video' and has over a million subscribers, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly passing on information on Indian forces' movement to the ISI. He was allegedly in contact with an ISI officer named Shakir, alias Jutt Randhawa, who was part of a terror-backed spying network, said Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav.
He had visited Pakistan thrice, and several Pakistani numbers were found on his devices, which are now under forensic probe. He had also attended the Pakistan National Day program held at the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi on Danish's invitation.
After Jyoti Malhotra's arrest, Jasbir Singh tried to erase the traces of his communications with Pakistani officials to avoid detection, said DGP Yadav.
Others facing spying charges include a student from Patiala's Khalsa College, Davendra Singh Dhillon. The 25-year-old was arrested in Haryana after he uploaded photos of a pistol on Facebook, and his Pakistan links emerged during his questioning. Nauman Ilahi, a 24-year-old security guard in Haryana, was found to be in touch with an ISI handler in Pakistan, and used to receive money in the account of his brother-in-law.
A 28-year-old health worker from Gujarat Sahdev Singh Gohil was arrested for transmitting sensitive information related to Indian military infrastructure to a Pakistani operative. Arman, 23, and Tarif, both from Haryana's Nuh district, were arrested within days of each other. Tarif was caught trying to delete chats with Pakistani numbers when police arrived at his residence.
Shakur Khan, a Rajasthan government employee from Jaisalmer, was also arrested on spying charges.

A genocide is happening in Gaza, and the US is not worried about it.' He said, 'This man (Netanyahu), he has butchered Palestinians... He is doing ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the West Bank and in Gaza. History will remember him as the butcher of Palestinians.' Owaisi also warned of serious consequences for India if a full-scale war breaks out in the region. The US publication reported that after Pakistan announced the nomination, Trump shared a grim outlook on his chances of obtaining recognition from an international award for conflict intervention hours after securing a treaty between Rwanda and the Congo. 'No, I won't get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine, and Israel/Iran, whatever those outcomes may be, but the people know, and that's all that matters to me!' "Ramifications for entire world, specifically for India," says former diplomat after US strikes three nuclear sites in Iran
New Delhi [India], June 22 (ANI): After the US and Israel targeted three nuclear sites in Iran, former Indian diplomat Mahesh Sachdev on Sunday said the situation could have severe global repercussions, including for India. Sachdev stated that much depends on whether Iran decides to retaliate. Sachdev added that the strikes could lead to more US attacks or push Iran to restart its nuclear program, which would have implications for global peace and India's interests in the Middle East. Speaking to ANI, Mahesh Sachdev said, '... A lot would depend on whether Iran decides to carry out its threatened retaliation for such an action. It will require a slightly longer-term assessment of whether the three sides in question have been totally destroyed, as President Trump mentioned... If it is not confirmed, it might involve further American raids, or might involve Iran repledging itself to exercise its nuclear option. Either way, it has ramifications for the entire world and specifically for India because India has a well-known stake in stability and peace in the Middle East for reasons of oil dependence, presence of Indian diaspora and remittances, trade, as well as investments.' Meanwhile, Trump announced on Sunday that the US had conducted 'massive precision strikes' on the nuclear sites in Iran. In his remarks after the strike, the US President warned Iran of retaliation if peace is not achieved soon. The underground site at Fordow and the larger Natanz plant were Iran's two primary uranium enrichment facilities, out of which Natanz had already been hit by Israel with smaller weapons earlier in the week, the New York Times reported. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that history will record the US President who 'acted to deny the world's most dangerous regime, the world's most dangerous weapons.' Iran, in a statement, acknowledged that the sites had been hit and called it 'savage aggression--an act in violation of international laws', stressing particularly the NPT. It alleged 'indifference and complicity' by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of indifference and complicity and said that it expects the international community to condemn these actions. The conflict between Israel and Iran entered its ninth day on Saturday, with the US now joining in support of Israel. The conflict started after Israel, on June 13, launched a massive airstrike on Iranian military and nuclear sites, dubbed 'Operation Rising Lion.' In response, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched a large-scale drone and missile operation, 'Operation True Promise 3', targeting Israeli fighter jet fuel production facilities and energy supply centres.
