I'll Never Go on a Long Flight Again Without This Game-Changing Bluetooth Dongle

CNET10-06-2025

I travel a lot, and when I'm flying, I usually bring my AirPods Pro so I can listen to music from my phone or watch something I've downloaded on my tablet. But sometimes I really want to take advantage of the in-flight entertainment, and I'm not a big fan of the flimsy airline headphones that the flight attendants hand out at the start of each flight.
What's worse is that it's in an environment that's already difficult for listening in general, and the in-flight headphones definitely don't have noise cancellation. They're tiny and let all the outside sounds bleed in, including loud engine sounds and crying babies, so I can barely hear anything.
That's where the AirFly Pro comes in.
The AirFly Pro lets me truly enjoy in-flight entertainment
The AirFly Pro from Twelve South is a minimally designed dongle that lets me connect to the 3.5mm headphone jack on my flight to listen to in-flight entertainment on my noise-cancelling earbuds. All I have to do is pair the AirFly Pro with whichever Bluetooth headphones I'm using, like my AirPods Pro, plug the AirFly Pro into the display in front of me -- and I'm all set. I don't even need to use my phone to connect the two devices.

There are four versions of the AirFly: the AirFly SE, which costs $35 on Amazon and connects to just one set of headphones; the AirFly Pro ($55); the Pro V2 ($60), the newest version of the Pro; and the Pro Deluxe ($62), which comes with an international headphone adapter and a suede travel case.
I use the AirFly Pro, and it's been a game changer for me on flights. I've never had to worry about battery life -- the AirFly Pro lasts for more than 25 hours and can fully charge in 3 hours. I can also pair two separate pairs of headphones to a single AirFly Pro, in case I'm with someone else on a flight and want to watch the same movie or show.
And if that's not enough, the AirFly Pro also doubles as an audio transmitter, so I can turn any speaker with a headphone jack, like my old car stereo, into a Bluetooth speaker.

The AirFly Pro makes a great gift
With Father's Day right around the corner, you might be shopping for the father figure in your life. The AirFly Pro is the perfect present to give to someone who's planning to travel this year. Besides my Anker MagSafe battery pack, the AirFly Pro really has become my most treasured travel accessory when I fly, which is why I consider it to be one of those can't-go-wrong gifts.

How Advisors Can Avoid Becoming Over-Reliant on AI

Apparently there's no AI in team. Artificial intelligence is being hailed as a key element of the fourth industrial revolution, and new tools are now assisting financial advisors with taking notes, drafting emails, and brainstorming thought leadership content. In fact, the vast majority of advisors said generative AI helped their practices, according to a survey earlier this year. But AI isn't a silver bullet. It lacks emotional intelligence and a human touch. Advisors risk damaging client relationships if they become too reliant on automation — even for routine tasks. 'AI is poor at empathy so far,' said Adrian Johnstone, CEO of the CRM platform Practifi. 'Advisors need to recognize where the personal connection is most powerful, and use AI to automate and alleviate the lesser functions.' READ ALSO: What the GENIUS Act Means for Stablecoins and Advisors and Why UBS Is the Only Wirehouse to Allow Podcasting Today, most advisors use AI to boost meeting efficiency and streamline workflows. Ideally, this frees up more time to spend with clients, but misusing these tools can backfire. 'The common refrain of disaffected clients is: 'I pay you to understand me, my goals, and my fears, not to outsource me to a machine,'' Johnstone said. Wealth management is built on bespoke service, but AI hasn't yet learned to fully adapt to individual client needs and goals. While tools that draft emails and website content are improving, the output still reads 'hollow and generic,' Johnstone warned. Use it or Lose it. Client-facing AI tools can be 'extremely risky' because they can't interpret emotional undertones of client's concerns, said Rafael Loureiro, CEO of an estate planning platform. Still, AI can be useful for quick, factual tasks. 'If it's midnight on a Sunday and a client asks, 'What was my marginal tax rate last year?' that's a perfect use case,' Loureiro said. 'It's not doing financial planning, but answering factual questions.' Everything in Moderation. This isn't the first time new tech or strategies meant to disrupt the wealth management industry have wound up causing trouble for advisors and their clients. Will Trout, director at Datos Insights, pointed to the 2008 financial crisis as a warning. 'Firms that over-relied on risk models without human oversight suffered catastrophic losses,' he told Advisor Upside. This post first appeared on The Daily Upside. INICIO™ multi-slide door delivers expansive views, effortless movement, and design-driven flexibility

*Architect-driven design meets American performance in the newest innovation from BMD Manufacturing.* GALT, Calif., June 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- INICIO™, a brand of BMD Manufacturing, has launched its new multi-slide door system, a precision-engineered solution for indoor-outdoor living in modern residential design. Inspired by European minimalism and manufactured to meet U.S. performance standards, this aluminum multi-slide system combines expansive glass, smooth movement, and design flexibility for high-end applications. As the "bringing the outdoors in" trend continues to shape residential architecture, design professionals are seeking wider openings that welcome light, air, and uninterrupted views. The INICIO multi-slide door is engineered to meet those priorities with clean profiles and refined operation. Architectural simplicity, built for impact The system features narrow stiles and rails, a flush sill option, and a quiet European carriage system for smooth panel movement. Individual panels can reach up to 70 square feet—up to 12 feet in height and up to 8 feet in width—with unlimited tracks available for large-format openings. Custom colors. Split finishes. Maximum flexibility. INICIO offers standard finishes in clear anodized and black anodized, both delivering lasting architectural appeal. For expanded design control, over 200 powder coat color options are available, all finished to meet AAMA 2604 standards. The system supports split-finish capability, allowing different colors on the interior and exterior of each door. This gives architects the freedom to match interior palettes while coordinating with an independent exterior design. Custom color matching is also available on request. High-performance glass by Saint-Gobain INICIO multi-slide doors use high-efficiency Low E3 glass manufactured by Saint-Gobain. Two performance configurations are available: Low E3 – CLX 61/29: Ideal for hot climates or strong solar exposure. Offers lower solar heat gain and higher exterior reflectivity. Low E3 – CLX 70/33: Allows more daylight transmission while maintaining thermal performance. A strong option for balanced natural lighting. Both glass options feature argon gas fill and triple silver Low E coatings for energy efficiency, UV protection, and clarity. Secure hardware and integrated screen options Hardware options include AmesburyTruth ® and HOPPE® systems with flush handles and optional keyed exterior access, available in silver, black, or white. Meta and Oakley Are Launching AI-Powered Glasses This Summer

Meta on Friday unveiled a new line of AI-powered glasses made in collaboration with Oakley. The Oakley Meta HSTN will drop later this summer with a $399 price tag, Meta said, with a $499 limited edition version available for preorder on July 11. Oakley's parent company EssilorLuxottica previously partnered with Meta on Ray-Ban branded AI (META) and Oakley unveiled a new line of AI-powered glasses Friday that will be available for preorder starting next month. The Oakley Meta HSTN glasses include an Ultra HD camera, open-ear speakers, and the Meta AI app built in, allowing users to take hands-free photos and videos. It also comes equipped with a longer battery life than earlier models of Meta AI glasses. A limited-edition version of the HSTN will be available for preorder starting July 11 for $499, with a $399 version expected to launch later this summer. The new Oakley glasses are Meta's latest collaboration with eyewear maker and Oakley owner EssilorLuxottica, which also partnered with the tech giant on a line of Ray-Ban Meta glasses. A line of Prada glasses is expected in the future, according to a report from CNBC. 'Glasses have emerged as a major new hardware category of the AI era,' Meta said in a statement. It isn't the only Big Tech player trying its success with AI-powered eyewear. Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google in May said it partnered with glasses retailer Warby Parker (WRBY) to develop AI-powered glasses. Google committed to investing as much as $150 million, including buying a stake in Warby Parker. Snap (SNAP), meanwhile, has said it plans to launch the latest version of its own AI glasses, known as Specs, in 2026. Meta shares were down about 2% to just above $684 in Friday afternoon trading. They've added roughly 17% of their value since the start of the year. Read the original article on Investopedia
