Enzo Maresca 's side are the clear favourites to win the competition despite a somewhat disappointing run of domestic form lately, having waltzed to first place in the league phase with six wins from six.
Nevertheless, they face one of the best sides left in the competition in Copenhagen, with the Danish side leading their domestic league despite scraping through in 18th in the league phase.
And no matter what happens in the Premier League, a victorious campaign in this competition is the least of expectations for Blues fans – and perhaps the club's hierarchy too.

Team news
For Copenhagen, teenage winger Roony Bardghji is still out after suffering a cruciate ligament tear last May, while centre-forward Andreas Cornelius is the other main long-term absentee.
Midfield Lukas Lerager and winger Jordan Larsson are expected to miss the first leg, but they could both be fit for the return match at Stamford Bridge next week.
For the visitors, Enzo Maresca has no new injury concerns since the win over Southampton, and Trevoh Chalobah could make a return alongside Benoit Badiashile.
Nobody else has recovered from their injuries, with Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu, Romeo Lavia and Noni Madueke thought to be out until early April at the earliest.
Maresca stated in his pre-match conference that Robert Sanchez will start in goal for the visitors.

Liverpool shatter club transfer record to sign Germany midfielder Wirtz

June 20 (Reuters) - Liverpool have signed Germany's Florian Wirtz from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, the Premier League champions said on Friday, as they smashed their transfer record to seal a deal for the attacking midfielder. Leverkusen will receive a guaranteed amount of 100 million pounds ($134.64 million) and a further maximum of 16 million pounds in potential bonuses. That makes the 22-year-old Liverpool's most-expensive signing ever, ahead of Netherlands centre back and captain Virgil van Dijk who joined for 75 million pounds in 2017. Wirtz, who signed a five-year contract, also becomes the fifth 100 million pound plus signing in Premier League history, joining Chelsea midfielders Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, Arsenal's Declan Rice and Manchester City winger Jack Grealish. "I feel very happy and very proud. Finally it's done and I was waiting for a long time – finally it's done and I am really happy," Wirtz said in a statement. The personnel may differ ahead of Wirtz – especially if Liverpool sign a new number 9 and if Szoboszlai takes up a new deeper role – but the principle of Wirtz as supplier and workaholic ball-gatherer remains. This is the tried and trusted formation which won Liverpool the Premier League. In this case, Wirtz is more like a 'false nine' reminiscent of Firmino, triggering the high press out of possession, while adding creativity and goal threat when Liverpool dominate the ball. It seems unlikely this is Slot's ultimate vision as Wirtz is seen as a prolific creator more than goalscorer and his talent will be better served providing assists to someone playing in front of him. Here, Wirtz switches with Díaz (or a new No 9 if Liverpool sign one) playing from the left, but regularly drifting inside to more often than not occupy the number 10 zone rather than play as a wide man per se. It's a slight tweak which would demand more of whoever is playing left-back (with the signing of Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez having just been agreed). More overlaps will be required to provide width on the left. Not the 4-4-2 of English tradition, and as much a 4-2-4 in possession, but this is a variation of the formula Slot used when comfortably beating City at the Etihad on the way to the title. In that case, Curtis Jones and Szoboszlai operated as a 'double 10' meaning the City centre-backs had no central striker to pick-up, and Liverpool's midfield runners controlled the game while helping to pack defence. It's not likely to be the preferred choice of Slot – Liverpool had less than 34 per cent possession against City playing this way – but again Wirtz's multi-functionality makes it an option.
