Netanyahu: Israel "turned the tables" on Iran
Shafaq News/ On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the region is entering a new phase following continuous airstrikes on Iranian military and nuclear-linked targets.
Describing the operation as the opening of an 'aerial route to Iran, in an interview with Channel 14, Netanyahu stressed that Israel had 'turned the tables' within five days by targeting senior Iranian military figures and nuclear scientists, linking the timing of the offensive to Tehran's accelerated push toward developing nuclear weapons.
'We will soon see a Middle East we have not seen before,' he added.
He also referred to Israeli intelligence assessments estimating that Iran had been preparing to manufacture 300 missiles per month, projecting a stockpile of 22,000 missiles over six years, arguing that the cumulative destructive capability would rival that of two nuclear bombs.
Moreover, Netanyahu highlighted his earlier efforts to neutralize Iran's military and nuclear infrastructure, efforts he claimed were obstructed by internal resistance. 'I tried to dismantle Iran's capabilities, but I couldn't gain a majority,' he noted, referencing opposition within Israel's security establishment.
The interview comes as the confrontation entered its sixth day, with missile, drone, and airstrikes exchanges continuing across multiple fronts. Despite ongoing international appeals for de-escalation, military operations have continued intensively.

Iran, Israel vow "heavy" blows
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz instructed the military to escalate its operations inside Iran, ordering 'heavy' strikes on sites deemed essential to the stability of the country's leadership. In a directive, Katz also called for targeting symbols of state authority in Tehran, alongside continued assaults on nuclear-related infrastructure and personnel. In turn, Iran's Defence Ministry confirmed its forces remain ready for sustained combat. A source within the ministry, quoted by Iran's Fars News Agency, pointed to a strategic framework guiding current preparations, noting that production and supply lines are functioning at full capacity to support military needs. Both sides have been engaged in a steadily intensifying exchange of missile and drone strikes since June 13, marking a sharp escalation in cross-border military activity. Earlier today, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a tactical shift in its latest operations. Declaring its 17th wave of strikes since hostilities began, the IRGC reported targeting military installations and defense industry complexes, including the Nevatim and Hatzerim airbases. The IRGC also highlighted missile impacts in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba, presenting them as evidence of advancing offensive capabilities. It introduced a newly developed missile system, signaling a shift in both range and precision. Israeli media, citing military sources, reported that one of the missiles launched during the latest attacks carried a cluster warhead containing 26 submunitions. It was programmed to detonate at altitude, dispersing its payload across a wide area and inflicting substantial damage over several hundred meters.

Iran, Israel trade blame at UN
Shafaq News/ On Friday, Iran and Israel exchanged accusations at the UN Security Council, each holding the other responsible for escalating violence, civilian casualties, and rising nuclear tensions. Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, condemned what he described as Israel's 'flagrant violation of international law,' pointing to airstrikes on five hospitals that resulted in deaths among doctors, humanitarian workers, and patients. He further accused Washington of breaching the UN Charter by threatening to bomb Iranian nuclear facilities, citing what he called 'growing evidence of direct US involvement.' Additionally, he criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency for its silence on attacks targeting protected sites, warning that the breakdown of arms control mechanisms would place responsibility on both Israel and the Security Council. In response, Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, accused Tehran of fomenting regional instability through military entrenchment, referencing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's calls for Israel's destruction. He also alleged Iranian involvement in assassination attempts targeting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump. He highlighted Iran's missile development program as exceeding defensive needs, with some missiles reportedly capable of ranges over 4,000 kilometers, emphasizing that Israel's operations consisted of targeted strikes against Iranian military infrastructure conducted with efforts to minimize civilian casualties. 'We are Iran's first target, but we won't be the last,' he added, underscoring Israel's preemptive measures aimed at neutralizing threats from Iran's expanding capabilities and protecting the international community.
