Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, the latest Malayalam film starring Anaswara Rajan, is getting positive reviews from viewers for its straightforward but intriguing plot, which is delivered humorously. The film's director, S Vipin, discussed how each actor's performance surprised him in an exclusive conversation with OTTplay.

According to Vipin, he respects Anaswara Rajan's professionalism and capability to perform. He stated, "I just need to give her a briefing about a scene, and she does it brilliantly and keeps the emotional continuity for the next scenes without any prompting." The filmmaker, who made his directorial debut with Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, added that every actor's on-screen performance surprised him, and it is difficult to pick the best one among them.
Azees Nedumangad, for example, studied the local store proprietors and skillfully mimicked their demeanour on screen. He also mentioned how successfully Joemon Jyothir adapted to his quirky role of Shakthi.
The director further commented that Mallika Sukumaran and Baiju Santhosh performed their parts with ease. 'Acting on reactions, in my opinion, is a true ability, and the impact would be greater,' Vipin stated. He claimed that he prefers actors to perform according to the script and does not support impromptu alterations while filming. He did, however, allow some modifications, such as Joemon's character startling an elderly guy by abruptly revving up his motorbike.
The screenplay for Vysanasametham Bandhumithradhikal, which is based on a funeral and the surrounding circumstances, was written by the director himself.
When writing the script, Vipin said he did not have any actors in mind. "I like to pick the appropriate ones once the screenplay is finished and the project is underway," he remarked. The debutante went on to remark that he thinks a strong story is more vital than writing for a specific star. He continued, "You would be able to decide who is best suited for it after writing a script."

Prince and Family OTT Verdict: Box office, Twitter review of Dileep, Dhyan Sreenivasan's Malayalam comedy drama

Prince and Family hit JioHotstar on June 20 onwards, after completing a successful theatrical run. The movie is directed by a debutant filmmaker Binto Stephen and received mixed reviews at the time of its theatrical release. And now, within a day of its launch on OTT, social media has already been filled with reviews left by audiences who watched the film online. Here's how they felt about the movie. Prince and Family OTT verdict Well, a majority of viewers agreed that Prince and Family is a decent movie which can indeed be enjoyed with family and within a varied age group. The film's starting, as many have credited, was so well woven that none of the viewers were able to comprehend what was next in store for them. Nonetheless, there were still some traces of poor direction and disappointing writing in some quite evident places. Actor Dileep's performance was well-rounded and has been tagged as the driving force of the entire narrative. His perfect comic timing and charm attempted to outlive certain flaws like 'being cringey' and 'forced humor'. Other than him, many viewers felt that the remaining choice of cast appeared to be questionable since they did not put forth much of an effort for the joint appeal of the movie. The second half as per the audience was tedious and far-stretched, and any attempt at sending across a meaningful message was overridden. Absence of real humor and the use of outdated themes are some of the most common flaws pointed out by the netizens after watching Prince and Family on-screen. Prince and Family box office response Well, the movie appeared as the top performer in Kerala in terms of box office numbers, surpassing many Malayalam films which were released subsequently. Prince and Family outgrossed movies like Padakkalam and Sarkeet at the box office and grossed over Rs. 5.25 crore within just 5 days of release. It is only topped by Mohanlal 's Thudarum among other latest releases.

Over the years, Ajay Devgn has been a part of several cult films, but one which finds a place right at top is the Drishyam franchise. As Vijay Salgaonkar, the actor has created a stir among the cinema-going audience. Earlier in the year, Pinkvilla exclusively reported that Ajay Devgn has locked Drishyam 3, and is aiming to take the film on floors in the last quarter of 2025. And now, we have exclusively learnt that producers Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak have locked the shooting schedule for Drishyam 3. According to sources close to the development, the Ajay Devgn led family thriller is all set to go on floors on October 2, 2025. 'The Gandhi Jayanti date holds a lot of significance for the Drishyam franchise, and hence they are embarking on the journey for the final Drishyam film from October 2, 2025. It's a marathon schedule, spanning 3 months at real locations of Maharashtra, as also the studio set up. Ajay Devgn has already allotted his dates for the film,' revealed a source. The source further confirmed that Drishyam 3 will hit the big screen on October 2, 2026. 'It's a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release. The script is locked, and the makers are working on the dialogue draft at the moment. The entire Drishyam family will reunite for the third instalment, which brings a closure to the tale of Vijay Salgaonkar. The film will be directed by Abhishek Pathak,' the source added. At the moment, it's not clear if Drishyam 3 is a remake of the Malayalam film, or an original script, as the makers were also working on an original draft at some point of time. 'We will have a clarity on this by the end of July,' the source concluded. Before moving on Drishyam 3, Ajay Devgn will wrap up shooting for Total Dhamaal and Ranger. The actor also has Golmaal FIVE and Shaitaan 2 lined up to go on floors from the first quarter of 2026. He is in talks for some other films too and the details have been kept under wraps for now.
